I lived in FL for 13yrs and never had an issue with my hair frizzing in the humidity, but now that I'm in NC I have to use products that keeps my frizz at bay. It's been in the 100's in NC this summer and the humidity is unbearable- worst than FL, so maybe that's why. Great vid my fellow Brown Beauties...

Kinky Curly Curling Custard has been my holy grail styler for my wash n goes until i got my hands on the Camille Rose Curl Maker! It is everything!! You get a ton of product, I love the packaging ( a pump), ton of slip, ton of definition, nice smell, and barely any crunch!
I didn't have a good experience with Mixed Chicks and the Kinky Curly Curling Custard when I first used them after I went completely natural 3 years ago. But I think it's because I didn't really know what I was doing with my hair and didn't pair those products with the right products. I definitely want to revisit them again though since I actually know what my hair needs now. Thanks for making this video! 😊

Thanks for the Florida comment. I live in Florida and the humidity is ridiculous. Whether I have straight hair or curly, when I walk outside it is an undefined afro. I would be willing to pay for and try the Kinky Custard if it can stand up to Florida weather.
Tried Kinky Curly Custard for a second time. The hold and frizz control is better than the Eco styler olive oil gel. My hair is super shiny and I love it! And since the custard is supposed to help reduce breakage over time, I'm going to most like buy it again after my first jar.

I've been loving the new Maui Moisture line from Ulta. The Curl Quench milk and the Curl Quench Smoothie are amazing. Very moisturizing while still defining.
I really like Tigi Catwalk, BUT I had to learn how to use it properly. By itself (and combined with a leave-in and oil) it is drying and doesn't provide great definition. However, combined with Uncle Funky's Curly Magic, it is a staple. Side note - Curly Magic defines my curls well, but leaves my strands slightly slimy and I don't have a lot of body, but when I combine the products I have lots of body and no slimy film and my hair is soft and touchable. Since combining the products, I don't go a day without someone asking me "how do you get those curls?" Also, my wash n go lasts up to 3 weeks (maybe more, but I've never gone more than 3 weeks without washing and deep conditioning my hair). Tip - Allow Curly Magic to dry before applying Tigi Catwalk. Oh, I have 4 type hair, maybe 4a or 4b., and my hair is bra strap length when straight and shoulder length when curly.

I picked up that Kinky Kurly Custard yesterday & looked at it. I put it back. Now I'm about to go get some, LOL cause I have frizzy hair all the time & I want a product that'll do a tremendous job at taming the frizz.
I have been riding with the Kinky Curly Custard since 2011 when it was only sold at Whole Foods and I worked there and got a discount on my purchases! We had a love hate relationship b/c it would bead up and my hard felt so hard I have since learned how to use it and a little really goes a long way! Totally agree with the reactivation it provides I can get 7 days out of it! I have yet to get the Pillow Soft Curls...ugh the price point is a bit steep especially when you're already a Kinky Curly Supporter! Great tips! XO
Make sure your hair is very damp, use their leave-in in conjunction to the custard, but right before the custard use a nice styler I like the Eden Body Works-All Natural Pudding Souffle!!! Can find at Walmart or Sallies on occasion Target!
I use the Miss Jessie's Pillow Soft Curls prior to setting my daughter's hair with the curling rods! It makes the curls last and soft! AND the curls last in the Louisiana heat & humidity!!! lol But the DevaCurl version works BETTER!!! I can't find it in Sephora though! 😖
I love the pillow soft curls! But yes it doesnt give much hold so i usually only get 1 day and i have to wet my hair and re apply daily. Its worth it though.

You guys should try the Oyin Handmade products - their Burnt Sugar Pomade, Hair Dew, and their gel! Their products are so amazing, and so moisturizing.
They're so good! My fave is the burnt sugar pomade. A little goes a long way, and I apply it after my moisturizer, but before my styler or gel. It's great for the edges too!
I absolutely love their products. I have the burnt sugar pomade. I love that stuff. I also have the whipped butter, it smells like chocolate. It is good for skin and hair.

yes ..that's a great Q...i get crazy knots and tangles and my hair seems to be changing curl patterns to a coilier pattern with a lot of frizz... they never answer so i doubt we get our request
Frequent wash n go's will definitely give you more single strand knots. There's no way around it, I suffer from them too. Keeping your hair stretched or in a protective style is the only thing that helps to prevent them as much.
I have a few holy grail products, have you guys ever tried eden products, the coconut leave in conditioner, and the coconut curl defining cream, I also have found a new gel that I loooooovveee!!! I've been using for months now called aunt jackies don't shrink curling gel. everytime I buy it I get two or three at a time.

They're so good! My fave is the burnt sugar pomade. A little goes a long way, and I apply it after my moisturizer, but before my styler or gel. It's great for the edges too!

Do you guys have problems with single strand knots from always wearing wash and go's? If so how do you deal with that ?
yes ..that's a great Q...i get crazy knots and tangles and my hair seems to be changing curl patterns to a coilier pattern with a lot of frizz... they never answer so i doubt we get our request
Frequent wash n go's will definitely give you more single strand knots. There's no way around it, I suffer from them too. Keeping your hair stretched or in a protective style is the only thing that helps to prevent them as much.

I have a few holy grail products, have you guys ever tried eden products, the coconut leave in conditioner, and the coconut curl defining cream, I also have found a new gel that I loooooovveee!!! I've been using for months now called aunt jackies don't shrink curling gel. everytime I buy it I get two or three at a time.

I BC'd Fri & my stylist (Naeema at Curlie Girlz Rock located in Smyrna, GA) told me I don't need leave-in conditioner( jst a marketing tool) jst a buttercream & dry oil spray. I have never heard ANYONE say that. I thght that was interesting bc I slap that stuff on like nobody's business! Can you girls do a holy Grail shampoo and conditioner for straight hair. I've personally never thought shampoo and conditioner really mattered but now that I sometimes straighten my hair since I've been natural I've found that they do. Also have you all tried the redken frizz dismiss line?

No kelseys curls are looser. A few years ago they measured each others hair when it was straightened and it was the exact same length
I thought that too haha but they're the exact same length when they straighten their hair in the fall you'll see...Kendra's curls are just tighter
