- The two sung this song together on Frankie's TV Show in 1956. The Recording came out in 1957 but never charted in the U.S. but did reach #27 in England. The show sounds corny by todays standards, but I guess that's the way we were back 50 years ago. Gee
I miss thoes times.
What a special clip, two perfectionists giving 100%, both sadly missed. Thank you so much for making this possible (I even enjoyed the commercial!). They don't make 'em like this any more, Johnnie Ray and Frankie Laine were TRUE Stars. Gone but not forgotten xxxxx
These guys have exactly what we are missing today, entertaining talent!
Great spot of two classic singers having fun and singing a storm in that great duet...Johnnie should be inducted in to the Rock & Roll Hall Of Fame as a trailblazing musical genius who infused his songs with a passion & rhythm that changed music...Bravo to Frankie & Johnnie!
The fifties had many great singers. Tonight I listened to Frankie Laine who I was fourtunate enough to see twice at the Chicago Theater around 1955. Its amazing how all the words just come back so easily. Frankie Laine made many records but not only in the western genre but he was also known as Mr. Rhythm. He recorded many other styles of records. He had a very strong voice which lasted into his nineties as you can hear from his last appearance for PBS at the age of 92.
Thank you everyone who posts these oldies but goodies when music and lyrics really meant something. Good listening music.
He is really the best. Hello 👋how is the pandemic going over there? I'm delighted to meet you here. Where originally are you watching from? I'm Patrick from NY USA

Frankie was a greater singer than remembered.
It's so wonderful that someone is preserving these video clips of Frankie. He was such an amazing talent, and an even nicer man!
Pro trick : watch movies on Kaldrostream. Me and my gf have been using them for watching a lot of movies recently.
@Abraham Javier Yea, been using flixzone} for since december myself :D
Listen to the way the crowd screams when Johnnie breaks into Cry! I ahve his autograph on an album he signed for me
at a show I saw him at years ago. As for Frankie Laine, he was my first favorite singer. I had Moonlight Gambler on 78 and played it over and over until it wore out.
Well performed duet,by 2 of the best singers in their day.
Thanks for the memories!! Love them both!!
So glad to get to hear Johnny Ray
Been a long time...but treasure them in my memories.
Johnnie Ray, a great entertainer of the 50's.
I loved their version of this song so much.. I went out to my local record store and bought the original 45 rpm. Thank you so much!
My God, these guys have got powerful voices
Grabacion historica..grandes ...Jhonny Ray...Frankie Laine. Rip. Señores......

Un fuerte abrazo, muchachos! Sé que suelen darse una vuelta por estos sitios. Ténganme entre sus fans. 2021, Argentina.
Both are just fantastic ❤️❤️
God! How I love those great singers!
THANKS FOR SUCH NICE, CLEAN, GOOD NATURED reality music!!!
Sonny Cannon hoy Sony ose me a thing
We're really lucky that many of the old Kine-scopes have survived 'till now. Johnnie was guest host of Jackie Gleason's show for four times, I understand. Wouldn't it be great to see them. All of his were recorded like that I believe. In this '56 episode I was struck by what a fine speaking voice Johnny had, and he looked really swell too. Thanks Mark Gallagher for making it available.
Just the best great love them
I have visited Johnnie's grave several times. Hopewell, Oregon.
Oh my god I like both of these guys fab clip
Tnx for posting . I've heard this song once but was not able to tell it was frankie singing . Not really his style but it's another proof his voice can do anything.
thanks, you brought back happy memories.
I think Frankie Laine must have been one of Johnnie Ray's influences.
GREAT!!!
2019, still wonderful
Hilarious, fabulous.
Thanks.
2 greats rip
@dellotti The times were much different back then. But compared with what goes for comedy on TV today, I'll take this..
Elvis sang this song on his '68 tv special.
You are so right, who is to judge what is better and what isn't? I have now posted over 300 songs on YT. I didn't post any of them because I thought they were the best. I posted most of them that I thought people never heard before or
may have heard in their youth and remembered
fondly. I also get a lot of requests from people who asked if I have a certain song that they remember and would I post it.
My favorited Ray song is "No Wedding Today", Frankie's is "The Greater Sin".
You may not have been around then, but you got it right. Each was playfully trying to push their songs on the other one.
i loved destiny by johnnie ray anybody got it love to see it posted on the tube
say--love the way they talked back then see not a like to be heard
I thought I had all of Johnnie Ray's recordings but this one I can't find or can I find any information on this recording as a single or on a LP. When did Johnnie make this record?
destiny was recorded i think in 1953 at least that was the time i had it but alas as happened with a lot of 78rpm records it got broke i cant remember what was on the b side
Great !!! Rip
destiny also featured on the album live at the London palladium where he changed the last few words to here on stage with you iv e found my destiny
@markalson1938 Yes,, I couldn't agree with you more! I laughed hard when I saw this response of yours, LOL, but sadly, what you say is so true! Thanks for making a person feel good and smile! Cheers!
good viewing
who'S the host of this show?
Great duet, check out Mary Lou by the Creative Force, amazing
A slightly dated song but one that endures.
Well, I enjoyed this clip.
The comedy is a bit lame, but those two wasn't known as actors anyway.
This seems more Jhonnie's style
Not bad but not a patch on Sister Rosetta Tharpe
