    Amateur gloves don’t hurt much cause of the padding. Pro gloves are barely padded and very hard. You feel every impact especially the day after the fight lol.

    Can you or have you done a video on the differences between sparring gloves and training gloves ? Cheers

    • @fenianlewis
      @fenianlewis ปีที่แล้ว

      Depends on your use case. You can use the fly superlaces as training gloves, they are advertised as such but are good for sparring because soft padding. You can spar in Cleto Reyes 16Oz' gloves but if you do, you're a dickhead (latex padding sucks for sparring, hurts like fuck)
      Sparring will always be 16Oz or maybe 14Oz for camp, but training gloves can be any weight for hitting bags, pads, mitts etc.
      For general training a pair of 16Oz with good soft padding is all you *need* but having a glove at the weight sanctioned for your fight weight, I'd also recommend. Then come camp you will also need a pair of the same model of gloves you will fight in.

    What would you consider standard Reyes the ones that sale for about 150$ to 200$ for just sparring in the gym do you think they’ll cause a lot more damage and are there safer gloves out there I was thinking about getting the Adidas 500 For sparring I had a friend that said he didn’t like the way they felt when I was punching him I love them on the heavy bag Very durable glove I’m looking for something that would be comfortable for my sparring partner if you had any suggestions thanks and thanks for the video very informative

    • @Fit2Box

    I'm a very large super heavyweight. I wear size 17US shoes so US18's in Boxing shoes so I have to make my own since no brands do. So my hands are equally large and I can't make a closed fist in amateur gloves. There isn't enough finger space so my knuckles sit too far back in the glove because my fingers are so long and hitting with them is excruciating and useless. George Foreman's Brother Roy taught me how to stretch leather 16oz Reyes gloves and I can crack great no pain in sparring. I bought Reyes leather AIBA approved gloves that I could stretch only to learn you have to use the gloves provided. I've asked multiple coaches and they don't have solutions about the Amateur gloves. Boxing is my life and has been my dream since I could walk. What can I do?

    • @Fit2Box
      @Fit2Box  2 ปีที่แล้ว +3

      The only thing you can do is approach the boxing governing body and tell them your situation and see what they say
      Re sparring you should 18oz maybe 20oz gloves 16oz are too small for you

    Are there many differences in the feel of the three main AIBA approved gloves being sting, topten and Greenhill? I've boxed in Greenhill and sting and they feel similar

    • @Fit2Box
      @Fit2Box  3 ปีที่แล้ว

      They are all similar as they have to meet the aiba criteria

      You can do anything with amateur gloves and I’d recommend only using pro gloves for mitt work and maybe the heavy bag

  • @robertmcadam2216
    @robertmcadam2216 ปีที่แล้ว +3

    The sting amateur gloves are a disgrace, universally disliked by fighters and trainers they should be phased out immediately.

    I’ve fought many times in the sting gloves and find them so stiff and annoying, I much rather the Aiba Adidas fight gloves. But now england boxing are sponsored by sting I haven’t seen the Adidas since. Thinking about buying some sting competition gloves to train in to get as used to them as possible, you think they will last for training, like bag work , pads etc? As they are for fights I’m questioning the durability, and that they’re 100 quid lol

    • @Fit2Box
      @Fit2Box  4 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Yes they are durable and yes different to Adidas aiba gloves but as Sting will be used in the competitions it would be worth buying a pair to get used to the feel of them👊🏼👍🏼

    • @Fit2Box
      @Fit2Box  4 ปีที่แล้ว

      artjom tamm yes light bag work and mitts would be my advice just to get used to how they feel - yes plenty of specific bag gloves for the majority of your bag work

    • @Fit2Box
      @Fit2Box  4 ปีที่แล้ว

    I hate watching women’s boxing because they don’t have power, so i think It really doesn’t matter that they use 10oz gloves in amateurs regardless of their weight

    • @Fit2Box
      @Fit2Box  4 ปีที่แล้ว +11

      Depends on the girl we had a female boxer with a massive right hand proper natural power she was 69kg so would use 10oz whilst the men are wearing 12oz at that weight, we also had another girl at 74kg who hit like a bloke, I agree in general ladies power is lower but there will be exceptions out their👊🏼👍🏼
