    ¡Oh!

      Ciao Lorenzo, thank you million for your kind words. I must admit that we do not have the typical habits of an ordinary pilgrim. We have stayed overnight in albergues only in the first Camino made in 2016, the French Way. Although we enjoyed dinner with other pilgrims, it was very tiring overnight, we could not rest because of those who snored or were very noisy. So for Camino del Norte (split in 2017 and 2018) and Camino Portugues (2019) we either stayed in hostels that offer double rooms or directly in private guesthouses or hotels. So we turned from peregrinos to turigrinos (turist + peregrinos :)). As for the answer to your question, you can notice two locations presented in the film - Quinta da Portela (in Facha), respectively Quinta da Leiras (in Rubiaes). Both great, with communal dinner. As for the rest, apologies, but I haven't kept the list of them. You can however use the info presented by gronze.com, a dedicated site for Camino. It is a great source of info. You can also use booking.com, it is just a matter of price/comfort. Buen Camino!

    Since my first camino in 2015, I have wanted to go back and walk another. It was only today that I decided on
    The Portuguese Way. And your film has just sold it to me. Beautiful soundtrack. Thank you.

    This is such a beautiful video. I long for the Camino sooooooo much. We are hoping to do this Camino February, 2021 if the EU opens to Americans. 2020 is the first year in 3 that we didn’t walk a Camino. Did you see all these beautiful vistas in this video right from the Camino, or did you have to roam off? Thank you

    • @mioriticus7779
      @mioriticus7779  3 ปีที่แล้ว

      Thank you, you are very kind. Doing a Camino in February requires a lot of courage and ambition, it is not easy at this time of year. Congrats, fingers crossed. We also did Camino every year starting with 2016, unfortunately it was impossible in 2020 - we had Camino Primitivo planned. Probably 2021 will not be different either. As for your question, I can say that we did not always deviate from the official path, but we still chose a few times the Camino complementario, more picturesque. The only time we left the Camino was when we saw a sign to the Rio Barosa Waterfall, but it was a detour of no more than a km, so a little bit over half a mile. Buen Camino, God bless you!

    This is the best Camino short film I have seen here. Your choice of music and your use of the amateur camera equipment you listed was superb, Bravo! How did you plan your itinerary/lodging-any specific recommendations? Any advice, insights such as best time of year, places to see or avoid would be very much appreciated.

    • @mioriticus7779
      @mioriticus7779  3 ปีที่แล้ว +2

      Thank you Mike, much appreciated. I tried to make it as good as possible, given that I do not work in the video-making field. We have done all Caminos (French Way, North and Portuguese) in June-July, but probably the best period would be either May-June or September-October. As info source I have always relied on gronze.com, which covers both itinerary and lodging. It is in Spanish, but it's a good exercise to learn the language :) However, just google it and you'll find plenty of info. Buen Camino!

      Thank you for these kind words. We took the central one, despite the fact that the initial plan was to follow the coast. We just realized that, in fact, we would have needed two extra days. Well, hopefully we will be able to do it sometime in the future :). Take care and stay safe. Buen Camino!

    Great! Can I ask how much money did the whole trip cost roughly? Did you stay in the Hostels along the way, if so do you have to make a reservation or can you turn up and hope there’s space? How hot was it in July as I see you’re wearing trousers!

    • @mioriticus7779
      @mioriticus7779  3 ปีที่แล้ว

      To be honest we spent around 80-100 euro/day, which is quite a lot for many pilgrims. You can do the math for a journey of 12 days. We tried also the more economical option - albergues - on our first Camino (French Way), but we realized that we value a lot our personal comfort and we are not quite willing to share a room with another 6-10 other persons, some of them quite noisy. Next day we used to start already exhausted. Except for the last 100 km to Santiago, when it becomes crowdy, we had no problems in finding accommodation on the spot. Wearing trousers is a personal choice, in fact was hot enough, luckily those trousers were quite thin :)

    What an excellent and inspiring video. I have two weeks and it looks like I will do this camino instead of French one which requires double the time. How many days do it take you?

    • @mioriticus7779
      @mioriticus7779  4 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Obrigado/Gracias Carlos. It does depends if you'll follow the coast or you'll take the central way. For the coast one you need two extra days. But all in one 2 weeks would be enough. Plan your stages before you go, just to have a benchmark. Buen Camino :)

    I love this video! We are doing the Portuguese way in April this year and I also want to film it. Planned on only taking my GoPro but I see some drone shots in here and now I have an internal war on wether I should take my DJI mavic air as well! 😬

      Thank you for all the nice words. As for the drone I have a small and very lightweight one (DJI Spark). All the footage is taken in 1080, but for a family/friends video is more than enough. Pay attention to no fly zones. For the normal shots I just used my phone (Samsung S9 plus) and a DJI Osmo Mobile 2 Gimbal. Have fun and Buen Camino :)

      @mioriticus7779  4 ปีที่แล้ว

      June, 22nd - July, 2nd 2019 - indeed, it was not so crowded, especially compared to French Way. But remains the second Camino in terms of pilgrims, in 2019 there were around 183k pilgrims on the French Way and, however, around 70k pilgrims on Portuguese Way. Stay safe.

    Mioriticus, cuando caminas por Portugal se oye una canción portuguesa de fondo, y al entrar en Galicia se empiezan a escuchar rasgueos de una guitarra andaluza. No te das cuenta que Galicia no es Andalucía. Galicia tiene cultura propia, idioma propio y música gallega muy hermosa. Te recomiendo que veas en Internet vídeos de "Luar na Lubre" o Carlos Núñez. Es increible ver en el vídeo paisajes gallegos o la propia arquitectura románica, acompañado todo con guitarras españolas y melodías andaluzas. Es como si en la plaza del Obradoiro de Santiago de Compostela os recibieran en vez de con los sones de una gaita (como así es), con música flamenca andaluza. Una pena.

      @mioriticus7779  3 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Hola... Sí, tienes razón, lo sé que me equivoqué con la elección que hice. Desafortunadamente, ahora es ya demasiado tarde para arreglarlo, porque la sincronización del sonido con la imagen no permanece igual si cambio el ritmo de la canción. Gracias por las sugerencias, te prometo usarlas como fondo de musica cuando hago el Camino Primitivo y vuelva a cruzar la maravillosa Galicia, de la que ya estoy enamorado. Un bo día!
