Irish fan here, just saw Simple Minds in Dublin March 2924....40 years after seeing them first......still one of the great bands to listen to live....great performance.
100% . Seen them countless times back in the 80s/early 90s . Would love to see Mick MacNeil Derek Forbes Mel Gaynor get back with theses two . The new / current line up isnt the same. Also St Mirrens stadium was always called St Mirren Pk . Love St is just the name of the street it was situated on
A great band, but Scotland had a golden era in the 1980's. Big Country, Aztec Camera, Del Amitri, Deacon Blue, Orange Juice, Altered Images, The Associates, Fiction Factory, Skids & many more! Never again will we see such a proliferation of greatness!
Fantastic radio. 3 legends there. Simple Minds were one of my favourite bands growing up, and Ipswich Town my club. Would have loved to have heard more stories from the three of them.
Just saw them in Melbourne Australia & good lord they are brilliant, unbelievable performances from all on stage & Jim is gold at getting the crowd involved & Charlie boy can he play the guitar ❤
When i went to holyrood in the 50s we got a half day when scotland played on a wednesday afternoon as there were no floodlights at hampden.Cathkin was nearer to the school.
One of the best bands of the 80’s and still brilliant today, keep it going lads ❤👏👏👏. I seen them live at the Empire Liverpool and Jim Kerr threw the mic 🎤 at the wall
She lives on love street, lingers long on love street, she has a house and garden, I would like to see what happens.......... Maybe Jim Morrison was a st mirren fan. Never thought of that till now 😂😂😂
That was my thought too. St, Mirren played in Love Street until a couple of years and moved to new stadium. I think the Prince reference maybe a "Paisley Park" reference (Prince Brand). I always thought of the Doors when Love Street was mentioned....stay 5 mins from it....
I love Simple Minds, one of my favourite bands ever. I just wish Jim would be more like this. I believe he always tries to say something profound, but this is nit picking. One of the greatest live bands I have seen only second to the Rolling Stones.
Shame this video aint longer, its good seeing 3 old school pals chatting away. Partick Thistle 4-1 Celtic? I remember our French teacher was married to Partick's Alec Rae (captain I think) and some older boys at school slashed the tyres on her bright orange Capri (always thought having a orange car at our school was a daft idea). F Fwd to the early 80s and I'm blasting out Simple Minds "I Travel" out the window of the Army barracks I'm in when our RSM (another Glaswegian Celtic supporter) shouted up to me " Who's that your playing now?".. I replied "Simple Minds Sir, from Glasgow "..quick as a flash he says "Mates of yours then?" and walked off leaving me baffled for a second. Can't beat Glaswegian banter eh?😂
Coming to NZ in Feb and booked in to see them at Queenstown. Love them an also a Celtic fan living down under. Also lived in Castlemilk, down in The Valley, but never progressed to Simshill Great interview.
Love Street was never the name of the stadium, always officially St Mirren Park and Love Street is still a street in Paisley. Similar thing with Easter Rd and 'Parkhead'. Paisley Abbey though, an awesome place.
If he played; like: a Brazillian, back then: my how things, are changed: he looks like: "an Egg, gone wrong" (A HUGE: Egg ="Humpty!?"!!)?? -L.O.L. J.K. Has truly; "let himself: -GO!!"?? :p :p ;p ;p ;) ;)

Greatest band ever to come out of Scotland. The New Gold Dream album (1982) is absolutely sublime, almost flawless.

Never listened an album just heard a couple of singles. I think I'll try this album out

Not almost…..it IS flawless! 😉👍🎸
@@ReggieDunlop100 almost flawless is better than flawless as flawless has nowhere else to go and so becomes boring 😄
One of my all time favourite bands. Have seen them live many times over the years. Always a great show. Great to hear them chatting about old times
Fantastic listen! Superstars who have never forgotten their roots! They will always be Alive and Kicking! ❤
Great guests, love the fact they just chat like pals and are so down to earth. It's refreshing to see
Celtic men...great stuff...Money changes nothing ,,once a Celt always a Celt.
Nice to see Alan again I used to drink in his pub in Ipswich in the 90s a very nice guy
Fantastic radio. 3 legends there. Simple Minds were one of my favourite bands growing up, and Ipswich Town my club. Would have loved to have heard more stories from the three of them.
3 legends
?
Brilliant! You should do a one off with the three of them talking about Celtic and Glasgow. It'd be a huge winner.
I'd do £4.99 on that
My band growing up ( born in 63 ). Seen them loads of times . Absolutely brilliant. And Alan Brazil … just brilliant too
Absolute legends, takes me back to my first ever concert simple minds roundhay park Leeds July 89

Just saw them in Melbourne Australia & good lord they are brilliant, unbelievable performances from all on stage & Jim is gold at getting the crowd involved & Charlie boy can he play the guitar ❤

Aren’t you scared of the Mafia? We’re fae Glasgow, it’s the other way round 😂😂.
Notice that Alan cut it off before Jim could tell about Maradonnas place? Probably loads of charlie stories, great interview.
Both these guys come over as nice and normal.Always.
I love how CB plays guitar, makes it look easy like Keith Richards.
Coming from Glasgow I love the Minds and I don’t even care that they support Celtic
Great chat here . get the boys back on .
One of the best bands of the 80’s and still brilliant today, keep it going lads ❤👏👏👏. I seen them live at the Empire Liverpool and Jim Kerr threw the mic 🎤 at the wall
Thoroughly enjoyable interview...Charlie and Jim looking and sounding great.❤
They made this Haunting Atmospheric song called SEEING OUT THE ANGEL from Sons And Fascination LP remains in our minds to this day.
Superb. And the famous Glasgow Celtic always top of the chats 🍀🍀🍀 what a history ⚽️
Just like listening to the lads banter in the boozer proper down to earth
My late cousin Matthew Harris who attended Holyrood Senior Secondary was friendly with Jim and Charlie
Great Interview great banter👍
Love Jim and Charlie. Great warmth and humor

The rest of that class must be feeling useless 😂
Old pals chatting ❤
Proper band 👊

Love Street ...Prince, certainly The Doors Jimbo, c'mon.
I remember seeing Alan outside Hampden one day after a Celtic game he looked half drunk.
Probably cutting back that day.
Aye, lit up Maine Road and Wembley them lads. Great. Alive n kicking!
I love Simple Minds, one of my favourite bands ever. I just wish Jim would be more like this. I believe he always tries to say something profound, but this is nit picking. One of the greatest live bands I have seen only second to the Rolling Stones.
" Love Street " is a Doors song from circa 1968.
Great song too!

Lanarkshire full of many great players
I thot Bobby murdoch was from Rutherglen I cud be wrong but 🍀
@@DavidBroadley-tw7ks no, you're correct david, but our lady's was the nearest Catholic High school for boys. It was an all boys school then.
Weird thing was it was called 'St.Mirren Park' before too
Superb. Get the boys on again ASAP
Love it! Ramgers& West Han

This is proper absolutely tremendous listening
Love Street is a decent Doors song.
No way,the SKIDS.
Terminal 1 St Enoch’s Square… ah the memories, ah the stitches.
Terminal Wan eh? Used to get frisked for weapons on the way in. And if you didnt have any they gave you one.
Simple minds. I wonder if they have a place for Gabby in the band
If Newcastle was too cold for Gabby, Glasgow is
Hoc Vince - was there 77-83,with amazing people
Charlie Jim and Ally are ALL MUCH older 😂
“He had a garden” 😂
I’m watching this from Paisley now
Best sports presenter bar none
Love the banter ..HH 💚
Love Alan quick wit and patter 😂
Love Street was a doors song
Simple Minds - still going strong and as good as ever.
Cannae beat the patter. Grew up listening to Simple Minds, the 80s were the best time for music.
All good Tim's.
Don’t let the catholic education system down with that apostrophe.

He did mention Kenny, the Thistle game
What a legend. Get him back full time
Love them as seen many times! However Alive & Kicking im sure was a Rangers Anthem?
