Thanks for the tip on cleaning up that outer upper edge to prevent binding. I just removed the U-joints from my prop drive shaft from my GPA and was dreading driving in the new U-joints since the old U-joints put up a big fight coming out. I realize now from your video that that outer lip edge was the culprit.

Good video, just to add a couple of tips & carpenters hammers don't belong in a vehicle toolbox,
    1. Ensure the grease nipple is removed when assembling then screwed back in after assembly PLUS the angled grease nipple thread is right way round for EZ greasing once the cross is installed.
    2. Scott indicated the U cross turned easily in this case & that is not always so.
    3. Centre the cross properly after fitting the snap rings by placing the flange eyes across open vice jaws & tap the yoke then vice versa.
This makes sure the U joint caps are hard up against the snap rings & the U joint cross always moves freely.

Outstanding Scott. I am working on mine now and wondering how to get U-Joint caps out of the yoke?

You can use a large C clamp and two sockets, one the diameter of the cap, and one just larger. Set up the sockets on opposite sides and close the clamp. I have tapped them out with a socket and hammer. The best way is using a press with a jig.
