Oh I enjoyed that, thank you! First time I ever heard of Dirty Loops was on a reaction channel, liked it so much that I started hunting for their stuff and listening.
Henrik pumping out those 16th notes like a machine - unreal. And yeah, that bridge... Technical pyrotechnics aside, their (individual and collective) sense of time is really something else.
I know and love this track (and Henrik sitting on the silver case on his couch ;) Love the ideas they come up with, the 145 bpm feel, and the fun they obviously had when shooting that video. We’ve heard on the three-part interview with Jonah on Stratele Studio’s TH-cam channel, of how important it was/is for the Loops to have fun when creating their music together (although they might often labour long and hard over getting a piece just right). This tune races by so fast, and it’s always refreshing to be catapulted into another universe with that random-sounding middle section 😉 “Next to You” next, next Tuesday? Can’t wait, especially for the vocal breakdowns! Cheers guys 👍🙏👍
We were going to do that one and I changed my mind last minute to Coffee Break, Call it the keyboard player in me lol! We'll get to all of them eventually!
Aron and Henrik did an insta live when they released these, and I have a faint memory of them talking about all the tidying they had to do to restore their rehearsal space after filming this, so I think it’s way more low-key than you assume, but I could be wrong. They did these during the pandemic though, so it would make sense that they actually didn’t go into a proper studio. As a former IKEA employee I recognise all the furniture and fabrics they’re using, so they’re being proper Swedes here. 😁
You're right and thanks for pointing that out. There seems to be something going in in my system. When I proof it it sounds Good on both sides, when I upload it there's a n issue. I love a good mystery but not like this lol. I'll be looking into the issue! Thanks!
So the whole thing is pre-recorded? I figured they used a backing track and the three of them just played all their stuff live. I learned something new. I guess such is the case for all the Songs for Lovers songs?
Most modern videos are produced using studio tracks that have been sync'd to the video performance. Unless it's a live show or concert performance with live sound it's prerecorded for the sake of sound quality and fidelity. "Usually". There's always exceptions ;)
@kamen rider Those are all very good points and yes, in many cases it is done live and looks great. However... unless Jonah has psychokinetic powers, he can't be playing a keytar he just threw in the air. It would also be near impossible to play with the style and power he is using in this piece, on a keyboard sitting on a drum. Then again, maybe he has the powers of Merlin on his side. There are also many multi tracked parts in the song that are not being played. Yes, everyone here is world class and can pull off miracles, but sometimes you just gotta take it for what it is... a production with very good results.
The basic tracks here are live. No way they're going to be able to replicate all the little flavors and fills we see here. Easier to just record the video and audio together and edit stuff later. Could be multiple takes spliced together. Editing for sure. But it's easy to see the basics of what we're hearing is right there on the video.

Great stuff! "The way she walks" is a good one :-).

@Arlene Adkins-Zell funny because Dawg seeking out their videos is how we found Home Free last year! 😂🤗
I had the awesome opportunity to see them live. The sound the same live or recorded.
I saw them in Las Vegas a few years back, great show!

Can’t say I like it and can’t say I dislike it. But it’s fun to hear something different!😊
Did you see that Aron was subdividing on his leg.
Did you forget to click something again? The sound is "onesided" again!
