My interest is in the fx range finders at this point . From what I have seen either one of them will be game changer for shooting . The built in ballistics calculator that you set for your setup . Gives you a firing solution as you range ......very interesting .🤔
Would have been nice if they(fx)would have upgraded the software to allow for higher fps . That way it could be used on powder burners too . Good product but could have gotten way more costumers if it was capable of reading greater fps(feet per second) . I have an older model that is limited to about 1050 > fps . Still use it but looking for something to cover both worlds, powder burners, air rifle, bow and arrow , even airsoft or paintball . Maby even base ball .
I suspect barrel proximity, harmonics and physical back recoil/blast would have been problematic. At the end of the day it's measuring velocity of the bullet relative to the chronograph not relative to stationary because the chronograph itself is not stationary and will not be stationary with greater recoil
@@edhalson3154 i used them in the US back in October, very nice indeed but Garmin seem to be ashamed of their hunting/shooting product lines and marketing is very weak in a lot of countries.
I acquired one of these but returned it. Did not read .177 at high velocity indoors. It was checked by the dealer, but nothing wrong was detected. They tested it in a large room. Works fine with .25 cal. I assume this problem is because of the proximity to walls and roof. Meaning not usable for indoor use and .177. Witch was a turn of for me.
Hello, I sent you an email about my problem three months ago, I bought the new version of the Pocket V2 chrono in the US and today it turns on, recognizes the Bluetooth, connects but does NOT read the shots... can you help me with the problem? I live in Argentina and there is no one here who understands this... Thank you very much in advance I hope you can understand me
@@CenturyTTR no email was received and facebook/insta messages just get lost, they are totally unreliable. If your item doesn't work, the gun-shop who sold it are responsible, I didn't keep this one anyway so it's working methods are a long faded memory I'm afraid
I've just purchased one. Mine is throwing out random shots without any shots being fired... Usually around 850 FPS, when it should be about 570 FPS. It's correct when I do fire a shot, but then adds it's own figures into the mix, which throws off any data I'm trying to collect. The App states the option to adjust the velocity range, which may solve that issue, but that option is not there on Apple or Android! Has this been removed???
@@julesd8846 i didn't have that issue but phones and apps are often the weak link and not the product in my experience. So many apps live on a phone.....make sure you are just running one perhaps?
@@chrisparkin431 I get what you're saying, but the product has been predominantly designed to be app based. The only reason I tried the android version, is because it didn't work (as described) with Apple. I don't know if they have done an update, which has since removed the option to manually select a velocity range (as stated in the manual), but it's not available now. If you use a chronograph to fine tune an air rifle, how is that possible with false figures in the mix. I get there can be teething problems early on, but it is version 2 and has been out a good while. It is also a bit concerning to rely on a product, especially with the UK laws. If I can't rely on it, then maybe I shouldn't be paying for it! I know it's not your fault, but maybe you can feed this back to FX.
I also had a V2. He did not measure the JSB Exact Express diabolo. I replaced it with MKII, it works. This is quite a disappointment! It was a pity that they switched to the 60Gz band!
Bought one in February. Worked like a dream until yesterday when it stopped connecting with the app via Bluetooth. I’m fairly IT savvy and tried all the usual tricks but, couldn’t get it to work. There’s a few grumbles on the forums about this issue but, little to say how to fix it. Guessing a firmware update will be required. Anyway, mine’s gone back to the dealer I bought it from. Really disappointing as it was so good when it was working.
Same issue with mine, bought about 3 weeks ago, connection to phone is very random sometimes nothing recorded at all although apparently connection is set up. I'll give it a couple more tries but if no result it's going back .
Does not work with Android devices. Losing connecttion all the time. And their so called support directs me to use an IOs to update. For being a "serious" company, I think it is above all criticism. They should offer a replacement, updated item, or go out to say it doesn't support Android. Will not buy anything from FX airguns again. There are more significantly serious manufacturers than FX. Shame on you FX
Why are you shooting while looking through the scope with the lens cap still covering the objective lens of the optic? Seems like the effectiveness of the scope will be reduced when used in this way.
I bought this recently and really rate it. So quick and easy to set up and use.

Really useful especially when tuning a FAC airgun and for use with ballistic calculators
Thank you, a number of my questions answered from the off. Great tool.

Try the Garmin Xero does 100fps - 5000. Even a little smaller than this Fx and not so picky about placement.

Garmin have released the xero pro chronograph and it looks great, expensive but great.
More better chronographs on the way down the road this year. FX only if you use air guns.
I use the big fx for centrefires

Owned the V2 for months now, don’t rate it for the money. Very often it won’t register shots and quite often throws out random fps with no shot taken.
Same as ....I only shoot .177 and it only works on one of rifles
