Damn dude, that was fucking awesome. I've played bass for 35 years and I'm in an Anthrax tribute band(much more difficult than you'd think) and we play stuff from all the Big 4 so I have a clue what it takes to pull stuff off at that level. Lombardo's parts are still a gold standard 37 years after he recorded them. The guys I play with are some of the best players I've ever jammed with and we all know you don't just magically play those parts. People who want to pick you apart without acknowledging the amount of effort that goes into something like this can kiss my ass until they practice enough to not only play it as well as you did but get an entire band of guys to learn it to the level that you performed at, and THEN get their asses up on a stage and pull the shit off without it ending up a train wreck. I noticed that the guitar solos were pretty close too. Exactly like the album? No, even SLAYER!!! doesn't play it exactly the same, and I could sit here and pick out all the little bits in your performance that were different but that would be stupid. You fucking killed it man, keep it up.
My gratitude to you for taking the time to understand what was going on by just watching the videos and understanding from a performer's perspective. Secondly, I thank you for such positive words. Salute to you!! 😄
I had to come back to reply about your Anthrax comment. You're right, alot harder than people would think. Anthrax to be honest are just as much innovative as metallica and slayer. Those riffs are quite different just like S.O.D. and MOD
@@stuartewoldt1513 agreed. I know lots of thrash, (first song I leaned on bass was South Of Heaven), and the Metallica stuff is by far the easiest. This band is the first time I've tried to learn any Anthrax beyond got the time and it's been a journey, for sure. I'm also mainly a pick player but decided to do it with my fingers, just to be as accurate as possible. That's been crazy - sometimes my brain and my hands both look at me and just tell me to fuck off!
That was pretty damn impressive the drummer played the shit out of that little 5pc and nailed that song with a double pedal single bass drum, 2 thumbs up great job !!!!!
dropping a comment to let you know. since the day i came across you at that random jam session i was coming to fill in at incursion about 14-15 years ago, i knew there is going to be very few like you in this country.

Brilliant work. I love that little extra double bass flourishes you throw in with your fills. Absolutely brutal. You’re incredibly talented. It’s hard to improve on Dave Lombardo but you do it convincingly.
I've played this song a few times i usually brake it down In to 3 separate parts to warm up separately helps to remember when to rip the fills, once u can sustain doubles it is so much fun to play and if u can't try anyway! Wish youre doubles were as loud as that snare good job mate
Impressive. Not an easy task. The chorus is still one of the fastest double bass sections ever recorded. You nailed it. You should feel really good about your performance.
OH YEAH! GOOD JOB MY BOY!!! 👍 I see some comments talking about "Talent" .. Talent don't Mean Shit. To play like this man, you have to practice and Repeat and give it all. . It is the result of great hours of practicing . Nobody can come and play Angel Of Death because of Talent. Can't play SlAyEr with a smile. ahaha iF you wanna make a Slayer Tribute, I'M IN ! singer didn’t know the words but the drummer nailed it !
What part?
He nailed a lot of quarter notes on the hi hat instead of eighth notes😂
