    I was debating how to install a dishwasher end panel, and this seems like the logical option. Thank you!

    Wow dude. I can’t belive you placed that panel over the contact cement so fast and flawlessly. I normally take my time with that cuz if it’s not aligned properly you aren’t undoing the binding. Nice job. Cheers.

    Hi! Great videos. I’m looking to do a similar cabinet/sink type bar in my basement and would love to see more about the rough in plumbing/cabinet build and install. Maybe during a future project…but you do a great job explaining and showing how to do things-your sink install video is great! Thanks, Gord

      Thank you so much, I really appreciate it!!
      I will keep those video ideas in mind for next time!
      For the rough in plumbing, I hired that out because I was behind schedule. The cabinets I bought unfinished at Home Depot and then stained and finished them to match the rest of the cabinets in the house. For installing them, especially the upper cabinets, it’s so much easier if you have blocking in the wall ahead of time. Then you don’t have to worry about finding a stud, just screw to the blocking and you’re good to go. I installed blocking when I was framing the walls and it saved so much time!

    Think this is going to work as an end pannel for our dishwasher we just installed. We don't have a pocket hole jig though. We may need to use L brackets or something. 🤔

    • @DoingWhatever
      @DoingWhatever  ปีที่แล้ว

      I don't see why it wouldn't work for your dishwasher end panel 😃
      L brackets would probably work fine - I have a link to the pocket hole jig in the description of the vide, I think it's about $18 if you decide to get one.

    The bottom corner doesn’t kick out? I usually place a small angle bracket (L-bracket) there but hate putting a screw into the floor.

    • @DoingWhatever
      @DoingWhatever  6 หลายเดือนก่อน

      If you kick it, it moves a bit but not much. I didn’t want to put a screw in the floor either lol

    Can you show us how to install the counters?

    • @DoingWhatever
      @DoingWhatever  ปีที่แล้ว +1

      I had the company that made our countertop install it since that was "included" with buying the countertop from them. Essentially, install the base cabinets and get those as level as possible (something else I should have filmed). once the base cabinets are installed, what they did was basically glue the countertop onto the base cabinets (using a construction adhesive in a caulk tube) and shim as needed.
      If I ever install a countertop in the future I will be sure to film it!

    I'm wondering if your refrigerator door needed a little more room to swing open.

    • @DoingWhatever
      @DoingWhatever  ปีที่แล้ว

      It seems to work well, doesn’t bind on the side

    Just wish you had showed how you got your measurements for panel.

    • @DoingWhatever
      @DoingWhatever  ปีที่แล้ว +1

      sorry.. for the height and depth, I matched the height and depth of the base cabinets on the other side of the fridge.

    When yiu get this as part of a kit, it comes with a tiny bracket to be installed on the front bottom, because there's no stabilization there

    Are the screws in the video recommended below? Seems to be silver

    • @DoingWhatever
      @DoingWhatever  2 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      The screws listed at the very bottom are the ones used to attach to the wall - I just added the silver screws (pocket hole screws) to the video description that I used in the pocket hole locations to connect the stretcher pieces. thanks for noticing that those were missing from the list 😃

    did you have any issues with the fridge ventilation? Im thinking of doing this, however the "under counter" models are so much more expensive, but I'm worried about the fridge overheating in an enclosed location

    • @DoingWhatever
      @DoingWhatever  ปีที่แล้ว

      I haven't had any issues with ventilation. there's about 4-5" of clearance at the back and then clearance on both sides so the fridge can "breath". Hope that helps!

    Can I get with 1/2” plywood for cabinets?

    • @DoingWhatever
      @DoingWhatever  11 หลายเดือนก่อน

      1/2" would probably work as well. the cross members will help stabilize it also.

  • @ydavis9449
    @ydavis9449 ปีที่แล้ว

    I’m trying to install a fridge that’s taller than my base cabinet. Would you mind telling me how to do so? Was thinking about adding wood under the base cabinet to make it a little higher.

    • @DoingWhatever
      @DoingWhatever  ปีที่แล้ว

      correct, you could raise the base cabinets up using a frame underneath them. you could make that out of 2x4s - probably the easiest way. you would end up with a taller toe kick, but it might not be the end of the world
