It's important to have open dialogue with your child or children everyday once from school. Learn about your child's day, who's the new friend, how your child feels etc..Children CAN possibly experience so much during their day at school if not positive the negative such as: frustration, jealousy, fear, bullying, hate etc. I work as a middle school math Teacher and I hear the conversations I see the mistreatment experienced amongst their peers. Parents need to be informed especially for the child who seems closed off and fedup with drama. Communication is vital and can allow one to dig deep and possibly end the negatives as mentioned especially when adult; school staff/ parents do their part to assure students are in a welcoming, loving, and educational environment and redirect any negative behaviors amongst a child peers.

    • @Pozorrogo

If the school admits they knew anything beforehand they would possibly be liable for what happened, so of course theyre going to say there was nothing in the record. There was nothing in my record of bullying when I was young but I went through that sh*t everyday of my childhood. Schools turn a blind eye unless something physical happens, and unfortunately the 'physical' thing that happened this time was a shooting

We need to sue the hell out of this school. This kid was posting about his intentions all over Instagram prior, and the school authorities knew, and did nothing. It's because public schools don't give a shit about their students, and prioritize money and school work over lives. The school district needs to be held accountable. I'm the same from Louisville also. They literally say we're the next Chicago. My daughter is in high school here and while she was outside waiting for the bus. Those 3 kids was shot down the road from us at their bus stop. SMH then down the road from us again the stabbing on the bus happened. She's already been in a few lockdowns including her bus recently at J-town. I keep BEGGING her to stay home but she has learning disablities and can't learn online to well. She needs class communications and said she still wants to chance it to have some kind of social contact after two years just of covid restrictions. I understand what she means but it's an awful sickening feeling daily. I ALWAYS ate with all my kids and all the kids until she entered high school. Only because covid stopped that. I wish I could be up there with her. Every single week another gun, drugs, fights, and more. She said tons of kids talk about shooting people daily and that the teachers do know but NO ONE does anything. She's reported a few incidents and she's right nothing done. So I'm writing up JCPS and the school/bus compounds now. CHANGE HAS TO HAPPEN IN LOUISVILLE. I told them that bus shooting would happen after what already kept happening to my child. They didn't listen so after that shooting I pulled her out of school for a couple weeks to have a break, they clearly came at me, and I wrote an email detailing this could've been prevented and how I talked to the compound muliple times before school started and during school times. Just over what they did to her. Then others. Then it got so bad I had to go into the school and been writing emails to them all to document this for WHEN the next crimes happen. They can't keep using the IT'S UNDER CONTROL. IT'S ALL GOOD CRAP. SMH

Is Religion not responsible for these murders?
Think about it - if not for the injunction against suicide why would anyone want to be here on earth and struggle with life? Having to work for a living, deal with the problems of life, climate change, covid19, poverty, terrorism, shootings, drug wars, accidents, health issues.....the list is endless!
Why not leave all this and get to heaven? Free food, shelter, protection, care - no work, no worries! Just lay about all day!
Hinduism says Heaven is nothing but being reborn as Dogs or other lower life forms but let's not worry about that
Life in heaven sounds so wonderful the total opposite of life on earth
And so we can imagine a kid like this frustrated with life taking such actions thinking if he dies in the shootout, he did not commit suicide and all he needs to do is repent for his actions, God will forgive and off he goes to enjoy Heaven!
      Where is the downside?

If you give people access to guns this easily they're going to keep doing this. If he had to try and do this with a knife he probably wouldn't even attempt it because knifing someone is a lot more difficult than shooting someone.

I live in Australia that has very strict gun laws and gun licensing. Mass Shootings here are very rare (last one that was massive was back in 1996 although we did have an incident a few years back where 2 were killed by a mad man). I have seen a counsellor but due to Covid I have had to use other methods to work on the PTSD. Now I could do it over the internet but I am not a big fan of it. What I was trying to say is that yes I have been massively bullied and didn't have the skills to cope with it (didn't know I had autism until I was 27), but that doesn't mean every single person who goes through this will go on a rampage and harm someone. I was trying to encourage others to work through and learn the skills needed to work through their pain. Now it may not seem that way at the time but that is very much my message. There are resources to kids, teens and adults to learn the skills to cope and work through the hurt they go through. Now if they have feelings of harming themselves and/or others, people need to take them seriously and try to give them the help they need

3-the parents demeanor in the court video tells me they are relieved that this troubled kid is out of their care. Sad to say.

I haven't been in school for almost 2 years now and sadly this was one of my first thoughts I had when I left, "I don't have to worry anymore." Sire it can happen anywhere, but schools seem to be one of the prime targets for this kinda thing. My school was small and didn't really feel the need to take precautions... so if it happened I didn't know what to do so I came up with my own plan. A lot of us did. It was scary. I'm glad I don't have to go back there again but it still bothers me all the time thinking of all the kids that still do and are in danger of this happening to them.

He also went and bought his own weapon, as he showed in one of his videos leading up to the shooting. He did live with his parents though, so yea, they should've noticed something. They wouldn't be able to get him detained without evidence of him plotting something, though, and he sort of waited until the last day before he posted his plans on social media.

Or because they want to uphold his rights as an American. Or they love their child and don't want him in jail any longer than he already will be and want Ethan to be fairly represented as he's being tried as an adult. Perhaps they trusted their Ethan before this, seeing as he didn't have any prior disciplinary issues until recently. Obviously, Ethan deserves to pay for his crimes, but it's too soon to be grilling the parents until this is all figured out. These are really complex cases which often have much more depth than we first think. We know that Ethan shot up his school but we don't know all the things that led him to do so. I'm not taking anyone's side, but we shouldn't make any assumptions until investigations have proved them true or false. It's okay to have preconceptions, I have them as well, but very important to know at all times that they may or may not be true. All we can do for now is hope that the court makes the right call and that no more lives will be lost to this terrible event. Peace ✌

What I don’t think anyone realizes was that his warnings were actually cries for help. He wanted someone to notice him, and no one ever did until it was too late. Its always easier to say what you should have done, rather than actually doing it. Raise your kids to be inclusive and to respect everyone. This can and should be prevented at all costs. Stop claiming you care when nothing is being done to prevent this from happening again and again and again. Its always the quick and easy route to hate and blame the shooter, but it takes a little bit of empathy to understand that these circumstances shouldn’t be the norm. Society failed him, the government failed him, his peers failed him, his parents failed him, and the school system failed him. He’s guilty for his actions, but no normal child fantasizes about murdering their peers. That’s clearly a result of trauma and mental illness, two things that regularly go unchecked in children, adolescents, and adults alike.
