Dave, as others have stated, you're a breath of fresh air with positive attitude and curiosity. I live very close to your charging stop at the West Lebanon Walmart and Tesla SCs next to Price Chopper. I'm so glad that you got up to Quebec City, truly does feel like Europe and is fun in all seasons. Montreal is a bit closer and also has some unique vibes including the "underground city" and scenic views from Mont Royal. Keep on EVing!
"Taint season" = Stick Season. Noah Kahan is a resident of Straffford, where I live. The town is often featured in his music videos.
You are one of my favorite vloggers. I appreciate your positive personality and it's doing a lot for me at this moment
Dave thank you for showing Quebec City. Province I live in and touched by your curiosity and positive vibes.
Oh Dave. Ignore Kyle, you have got to keep filming all these places. Quebec looks amazing. Take Kathy next time. She will love it. Why have these great EV’s if you can’t explore.
I love you guys. So sweet. And Dave. Wash that MY
Thank You for All that you are doing for our Planet Earth.... Peace.. Shalom.. Salam.. Namaste 🙏🏻 😊 🌈 ✌ ☮ ❤
Part 1 & 2 are amazing . Quebec City is my absolute favorite Canadian City, so unique & beautiful with an old European flavor. Thanks so much for these 2 videos.
Man, what a wonderful diversion for your subscribers….like a five star travelogue, Dave. Sincere thanks from Texas for this glimpse of Canada! 👍
A few days later, you could have stopped in Sainte-Marie right on the 73 highway from Quebec City to the border. The supercharger is not yet shown on the mobile app... but is online and should be shown in the car. Tesla turned it on in the last few days.
and FYI, Daveluyville is pronounced DA-VE-LOUI-VILLE like tha ve Loui ville 😀
Another great video. Appreciate the shoutout to the linemen who risk their lives to keep the power flowing.
Nice to see part 2 of your Quebec City road trip. So that you know, the mascot snowman that you saw is called Bonhomme Carnaval, and is the mascot of the Carnaval de Quebec, which is a winter festival that has been taking place in early February for 70 years. This is one of the main draws for tourists in Quebec City during the winter season. While winter may be nice here (this winter has been unusually warm with less snow than usual), you should plan your next trip during the summer. Early to mid-July is great if you like live music, with the Festival d'été (Summer festival), with many big-name artists of every musical genre attending each year. Early fall (late September to mid-October) is also a nice time to visit. Several cruise ships visit Quebec City during that period.
Quebec City and rural Quebec are simply stunning in terms of countryside, architecture, food and people.
“More French than the French”!
Very nice to watch! I own a Model Y alive live 30 minutes from Sherbrooke. Yes the Tesla network coverage is not ideal in some areas of Quebec. But the coverage in Quebec is amazing! A CCS adapter is a very good idea here! Our main electricity company, Hydro-Quebec operate a lot of chargers under the name of Circuit Electrique.
North Hatley ?
Love these type of videos. Great to see a real world view of driving an EV, good and bad
Thanks Dave, I don’t usually care for an hour and a half videos, but when I started watching this I couldn’t stop. You do a great job of keeping us entertained with your knowledge. How well does the Tesla heater work up there? I hope you didn’t Kiss Cathy after eating that Souchi and vinegar and onion chips.
I rented a Model Y in Calgary and I think the heat pump worked great! People don’t realize how efficient EVs, especially Teslas are even in the winter! It was great to be able to precondition the car via the app without any significant battery loss (about 10 minutes of pre heating with only a few miles lost)
Before i watch this great video i wanted to tell you dave because of you i will stopping by buc-ee's this summer by South Carolina off the 95 its already on my GPS have a wonderful day SIR...
Great to see a demonstration of the Tesla operating just fine in cold weather. Great video.
My wife and I stayed at the Frontenac on our honeymoon 30 years ago in a frigid December and took the toboggan ride. The hut at the end was selling ice cream! (I guess with temps around 0F, it was 'warm' in comparison.) I asked all my Canadian friends if ice cream was a 'thing' to have during freezing weather, and they all said they'd never heard of that. I still think about whether they still do that there!
Hi Dave, just wanted to let you know...I'm in CT (stamford) and i picked up my mylr today in Mt. Kisco. Don't know who they're sending to Mohegan but it was actually significantly closer for me to go there, then to head up to Mohegan. Very good experience...now if the guy doing the ppf and the tinting would just return the car to me!!! Keep up the great work, you (and your son) are a big part on my deciding to take the plunge!!
Just finished watching! Made me miss living in Canada! I loved getting my root beer from A&W cause they use real cane sugar! Used to visit montreal often and loved it there! I would of gotten work there but i had to learn French
1:18:37 That was a nice relationship pivot Dave 😂. After that dramatic pause things could have easily deteriorated into an argument but you skillfully pivoted to Peaches and Herb 🎶. Nice job Bro.
Dave, really enjoying the vlogs. Quebec City was beautiful.
Who is “We’re”(We) @ 1:22 & 13:41. Thought you were by yourself? Someone has some splaining to do Lucy! 😂
Ate at Berns a couple of times, great description & pics. Was a cool & educational roadtrip! Sold magazines as a kid too, in NY, lol.
Thanks for shout-out on Sudbury, MA….lived there for over 30 years 😎
By the way, winter tires in winter are mandatory (it's a law) in Québec (for resident, I think visitors have a get of jail free pass on that one).
"do" is a verb so "quickly" is modifying as the adverb! In all seriousness~ a great video! Really enjoyed it, thanks for all the work to put it together so we could enjoy!
Amazing architecture in QC
Great the see you visit QC. We always make an effort to drop by Roy Jucep's at Drummondville, QC for some authentic poutine.
Make sure you double tap on the defroster. it goes to heat. It goes nuts so can only leave it on for a few mins at time but could help w the frosting up for a bit.
Most of the coverage in Canada is great. I have a huge Tesla supercharger area near my house so in the future I know I won’t be far from one if I ever get one.
Good vid
Next time you come you gotta use the CCS adapter and use the Electric Circuit! They have plenty of 50-100 kw chargers in the area you wanted to go. Living in Québec I think I use it as much as the superchargers.
Totally. Supercharger is great, but in Québec you are limited to main highways. To visit more rural sections you need a CCS adapter.
Agreed. Circuit Electrique covers the whole province better than the Supercharger network and the network is also very reliable. Having a CCS adapter is definitely a plus in Quebec.
Deja vu. We saw the Ice Hotel in a previous video.
Make more of these. Long Island says hi
sick track
I have never run into a Tims that was closed that early. The closest I have come to a Tims disappointment is driving up to one at 3:30am and they were out of donuts (and the daily re-supply hadn't come yet). 🤷♂
Loved your video. One of my favorite city in NE. I’ve got a question for you and anyone who drives a Tesla. I’ve been eyeing on a Tesla model3 and modelY for a few years thinking that public charging will get better in Queens, where I live. Even though the infrastructure hasn’t improved I just couldn’t wait any longer and almost pulled a trigger on purchasing a used model3. I knew the auto insurance for Tesla is higher than any comparable ICE car but I almost went through the roof when I got my quotes from Geico and Statefarm. I got a quote of $4,800 and $5,200 per year respectively. Which is 2.5 and 3 times higher than what I’m currently paying. Is this what everyone is paying?
Congress has to ask why insurance of EV is so high.
I love the road trip story-telling contrasted with the Tesla content. I want to know though, do you miss the Ioniq 5 at all Dave? I currently own one and think about getting back into a Tesla... i'm glad you noticed the charging infrastructure sucks in Canada.
Unfortunately it turns out those 16 Tesla stalls in West Lebanon NH will remain Tesla only and everyone else is just going to have rely on those 4 EA stalls. Tesla is limiting Ford and everyone else to pure V3 installs only. Mixed V2/V3 will remain Tesla exclusive. So in the entire state of VT my Mach E gained access to exactly 3 Tesla sites and same with NH as well. Just 3 sites on the 93 corridor. Not quite the game changer we expected.
Welcome to my neck of the woods. I have a ccs adapter just for that reason as Tesla doesn't have superchargers there. I am hoping they open one in Errol NH.
Where is your X? You are BEYOND a generous, great dad. BTW, next time you go up to Canada, check out the Beaver Tails.
Tim Horton is supose to be open 24-7 but a lot of them have employe shoretage.
Sorry
Hope you went to the pokadot dinner in white river junction
Love watching your videos, but over times I started noticing some of the music tracks you have in your videos, and would like to get for myself. However I am not always lucky to locate them - such as the one in the transcript 18:25 to 19:17 in this video (winter road trip to Quebec). So I wonder if you could add that music title/singer reference somewhere in your video info.
Hey Dave, picked up a model Y @ Mohegan sun in January …great place.. I’m kind of surprised that they don’t have public chargers. Anyone have any idea when Mohegan will put in some public charging stations? ( other than the two level 2 chargers against the pole in the garage.
Quebec is the one place in North America where the CCS adapter would have made a great deal of a difference, since the Tesla is virgually non-existent. outside the Trans-Canada corridor.
True. Circuit Electrique is so good and reliable that Tesla superchargers just aren’t all that popular or even available in large parts of the province of Quebec. A CCS adapter is a must out here.
Get better wipers Dave!
Do you run on two sets of tires on your Teslas, such as winter ❄️ tires and than all season tires?
Bern’s-a bordello masquerading as a steakhouse.
Hi Dave, I am wondering whether you can give me some guidance. I am coming into Denver in July 24, and was hoping to hire a Tesla whilst I am in the area for the 7 days that I am there. Do you have any suggestions on a good hire company that I could use. I have been told Turo is okay. Any thoughts.
Ps, I really like to openness and honesty in your videos.
Check the traditional rental companies as well as Turo
Kathy is CRUSHING the sunglass game! More Kathy and less, well…….never mind. Just kidding. Great to see my home state of CT is getting beat by Tesla in regard to their blatant political shenanigans to keep Tesla from selling in state.
Would you mind replying to my and telling me if you have sold the Volt. I have replied often telling you I am interested. I live nearby in RI.
Yes… Volt has a viewer lined up to buy it He was second to reach out asking via email Te first guy declined I am not for with the car yet and may actually keep it longer
Did you say Quebec state don’t you mean province 😂
For the love of god, please please edit your videos.
I do
@@dconner9 Hi Dave. I appreciate your responding. Thank you.
I get frustrated because generally speaking, the Out-of-Spec "Empire" (that includes the podcasts, reviews, detailing, etc.--so I'm by no means singling you out) all provide a lot of great content that I would like to absorb. But when videos get to be over 30 minutes, and oftentimes pushing an hour and beyond, well, "ain't nobody got time for that."
I also appreciate that editing is hard and time-consuming, and there's a trade-off between being timely and being digestible quickly.
@@rcmiller510 it’s a lot of work for sure! Many people like the long format videos so I try to strike a balance to please all Not easy sometimes! Thanks for the support and for watching
Dave Tim is dead. And the company was bought out by Americans.lol. Coffee is good. Donut is always good but they were better things have changed.
