I have been there. I have remembered a place from my childhood that was very colorful and it had a cave, now I am looking at it. This would make sense as I was raised in California and we went all over the state. It's crazy seeing what I thought may have been an imaginary place. Amazing.
I stayed there in 1984. The Irish Hills room. Everything was so green. Even had a creepy 3 foot tall leprechaun. And the bathroom was all rock. Taking a shower was like bathing under a waterfall. Thank you for a great video! Loved your tour.

Nice presentation of the Madonna Inn. There is also a spa there that I think you missed. And they also have trail rides and they provide gentle horses (this place is also a large ranch). For events, they have the "Round Room", "Gay 90's" Room, "Garden Room", "Venetian Room", and a semi private balcony in the steak house. For even bigger affairs they have their "Expo Center" (20,000 square feet).

Use to bring people there for the first time and get a kick out of watching their expressions and hearing their exclamations. Lots of fun atmosphere and good food. Glad to hear it's still good. In those days the place was jammin', had to book a room or meal ahead. No place else like it.
You bet your sweet bippy I'd stay there if I could possibly get there. What a romantic place for wining, dining and dancing. Loved the food - especially that cake - yum! Loved the waterfall at the pool and was so glad you went up higher and closer so we could see that lovely ironwork and the gazebo with the lovely light. I imagine it's very pretty sitting in the gazebo with the waterfall illuminated at night ??? Such a whimsical & magical place. Very impressive!

I was here back in 1964. My favorite uncle and cousin had just used that urinal and they just had to show it to us. They, my aunt, my parents, my grandmother and I all went into that bathroom to see the waterfall in the urinal. It's been 54 years since I was there and your vlog brings back wonderful memories. I'm the only one of that party still alive. I think we ate in the coffee shop and we definitely wandered around the pink bar and dining room. The place looks as if Liberace built an inn in the Norwegian troll country!

I have a set of goblets I’ve bought there while living in SLO and use them every Thanksgiving & Christmas. I need to go back down now for a night visit! Thanks for sharing. Good memories & loved it!

I’ve been there twice, and really love the place. My favorite is what I called the Flintstone room. You missed the ladies room downstairs it’s indescribable. I love SLO particularly I like the Apple Farm and since I’m a player the National Resophonic guitar factory.
We had lunch there on our way to see friends in San Luis Obispo. Yes, each room is different and has a specific theme. Very interesting place to visit! It's definitely PINK and the desserts are to die for!! :-)
Back in the day my Father used to trim and Shoe Madonnas Ponies. He, Madonna collected Ponies, at one time he had over a hundred of them. The Ponies were kept in a very large pasture around the Inn. My Father would trim or shoe up to twenty Ponies a day during that time. Unfortunately many of the Ponies were basically wild, they were not handled very often, sometimes the only time they were caught up was when my Father came to take care of their feet. One time when my Father was trimming a particularly mean little monster it turned around and grabbed my Father’s fingers and bit off the end of his middle finger. A lot of the Ponies had to be Hog tired and at times some would have to be tied up and laid on the ground so my Father could trim or shoe them. Through the years that followed many of the Ponies were sold but Madonna kept a few of them just because he liked the little monsters.

I've been there, but never checked in. What you want to do, is get there before checkout time and tour the rooms as they clean them. I think we saw at least 40 rooms. Each one is different and incredible. If I ever stayed there, it would have to be in the caveman room.
