Hey Marek buddy - I just discovered your channel, love your style of honest and funny/sarcastic reviews. You are certainly helping Me and the Missus decide our next car...Thanks
It is a great small car overall; it is amazing in the city and good on the highway, where you feel the lack of power, but you can drive easily around the speed limits. The 2014 model we have does not stink at all on the inside. One issue we still have is with the first gear and the reverse, it does not always get there on the first try. The clutch set was changed and it did not help at all, the original one was worn-out around 50% at 30 thousand kilometers.
haha "I don't like the seats or the stinky plastics" . We need more reviews like this. I don't like chimes and dings on cars ie when you have the door open, etc - no reviewer says stuff like that. But you do. Thanks

I will be buying this or a Kia Picanto, not sure which one yet. Being able to select reverse whilst on the move with the i10 bothers me! How could that be possible? Great review though, as usual, thanks.
You are also wrong, this car doesn't come with xenon (XID) front lights, but with what is called, projector head beam. its a standard bulb, only housed with Lens assembly in front of it for better focusing illumination on the road. this is why you searched for XID illumination - and could not find any :-) **besides, XID is old tech by now, the industry has already replaced XID for LED projection lights every where, from toyota to jaguar. no more XID is being manufactured.
0-100 kph sometime next week and stinky plastics aside, :) for me, at least, those little cars are the best small cars around. True, you can see and smell the cheapness... But those little things are very well equipped and the version with the 82-84 bhp engine are zippy. Excellent review. Oh, I believe Hyundai also offers 7 year warranty with those aswell.

Greetings from Romania! I just noticed on our website that they reduced the 84 hp to 79 and switched the i 30 1.5 Dpi 110 hp with a 1.5 Mpi 96 hp. Do you know if it’s a whole new engine or the same 1.5 modified?
Did you buy the car in another country? Where? Also does the rear load cover have strings to prop it up when you open the tailgate or not? Because I've seen several videos about the car and some have strings, while some don't (like the car in this video).

Options like these can differ across markets. Sometimes carmakers need to keep the price down to a certain level, and they get rid of non-essential options.
@@vvp1002 This is a city car. I think both of these engines are suitable for the City - no turbo, no particulate filter. If you buy a city car, I think it's important it will work well in the city. When you get out of the city, of course it's gonna be slow, but it's to be expected. I think we need to buy cars based on the 80% of needs, not based on the 10 or 20%. If you actually need a car for long trips, maybe you should look at i30 with 1.4 Turbo GDI 140cp or Elantra with 1.6 MPI 128 cp.
Good evolution ! Even though it’s small, is it really a city car ? I read hyundai i10 buyers wanted something affordable at first. Also are you sure for xenon ? Looks like halogen with a lens to me.
I like the i10 but here in South Africa we get stuck with the lower infotainments systems that make it look like a much cheaper and uglier car and features with no ways to upgrade it even though the cost is more
in the city with the 1.2 AMT variant ur no match for any car thats not quick off the line. The power on low speeds its impressive and even on highway it keeps up. 600km on 140km/h and 3 hours in Bucharest trafic got me 5.6l/100. On romanian roads which you cant go more than 100 and mostly 70 on our weekly trips of 75km i often get 3.6l-4l and best it was 3.2l. Its often better than a toyota hybrid at fuel if u dont push the pedal too hard.(not in stading still in city ofc) Its not ment to go fast but it can overtake i would say easy since it revs up to 6.5RPM .
I have the AC3 N - Line, and belive me, although it's not a sport car, nothing can compare, and as you' ve said if the road is clear, consumption is more than decent, but when we drag in bottle - neck huge queues... that's an other story !

An experienced motoring journalist should not need to get used to a gear change. This video is in English and you keep telling us what you get in Germany. By the way is this what you would call a city car?
OK - the gearbox is crap. Yes, it's in English. Probably about 20% of the world population speaks the language. I use German prices, because I consider them most relevant for the rest of Europe. Is this a city car? Yes. Does it have a city car price? No. But then city cars as we know them are likely to disappear due to emissions and resulting costs to manufacturers and clients.
@@MarekDrives But the UK buys more German cars than anybody else in the world. The manufacturers can not get rid of city cars as we know them because they help to sell other models in their range.
@Graham Johnson the new emission regulations will lead to gradual demise of the city car in Europe. Excess emission fines are applied based on weight of the car, so smaller cars are penalised more, than larger cars. Small city cars could go all electric, like the smart EQ, but that will make them too expensive anyway.
@@MarekDrives But in the end governments will have to allow for this or make you take the bus on a useless route to where you want to go, buses will or do cost about 300,000 GBP so are not economical so some compromises will have to be met. But having said that if MG can produce a reasonably priced car with all their bells and whistles surely a city car without these extras is possible at a reasonable price as they don't require lane guidance etc..
Yes, German prices I use for the English versions of my reviews are crazy. In Poland this car is significantly cheaper, and it also starts something like 4k euro below the Swift.
