A great part of Gentle's moment here is that this is him learning his lesson. Before, he just put up an air cushion under the falling object, without making any way to control where it fell. Here, he made the cushion AFTER first launching himself to said falling object in order to steer and stop it safely.
"Back then, I wanted to help someone who had fallen. There was no lie in how I felt!" Such powerful lines...as well as ones that truly resonate with anyone who's tried to do something good, only to be reprimanded as their attempt blows up in their face or people who are familiar with the depressing adage "No good deed goes unpunished." Another noteworthy element of this scene is that Gentle makes it clear that his intentions were completely pure and selfless - a firm defense from the argument some people make that paints all forms of altruism as disingenuous and egocentric. It's official: Gentle has now become one of my all-time favorite MHA characters.
I still remember all those years ago, when Gentle was stopped by Deku, I felt conflicted because Gentle wasn't malicious, just petty. He gave his all back then and I somehow wanted him to succeed, but I knew it couldn't be done. Then the detective told him about second chances, I had hope and it increased with the final battle. And in the end, he got his chance, this time, he was going to succeed, and succeed he did. I cried so hard by the scene and when Deku realized who came to help. I was glad he didn't forgot about Gentle and Gentle could repay him for this second chance to be a hero.
When this ost played during gentle and la brava moment i had goosebumps🔥🔥. Mha really knows when to add these types of ost's to make a memorable moment even more breathtaking🔥
Possibly the best episode of MHA, and that's saying something with how many bangers this show has had. The OST just elevated it to another level. I was literally in awe when it kicked on as Gentle flew up to save UA.
The visuals, soundtrack and voice acting from both the Japanese and english voice actors have all been spectacular this is definitely going to be a finale that is remembered
They are most likely saving it for the big moment that will either end the season or start next season, no spoilers but the upcoming moment I’m referring to will deserve the lyrical version
I like theme but when I listen to it I do not think about gentel but thought about Tomura Twice Toga and Kurogiri moments in S7E16. Now E18 is done only 3 episodes left
