I wouldn't call it a curb stomp, even Deku admitted it was the hardest fight he had - he may have been speaking emotionally rather than physically, but he definitely fought hard to win.

Definitely due to how her quirk affects her emotions. She had 10 times as much love towards others when simply 'liking them', therefore the opposite should be true. When her admiration and interest is denied (Or even worse, treated in disgust) its going to harm her mentally far more than anyone else. She probably went into depression at a young age due to her quirk causing her to stumble into awkward encounters.

I absoultely hated how they praised La Brava's hacking skills _after_ she was caught, and Gentle was deemed an almost lost cause. Yeah, society is good to those with talent and luck. The others? Not so much. If Deku had never dared to save Bakugo, he would've led a life similar to these guys.
Coming here after La Brava and Gentle save UA and Gentle finally starts to get the heroic attention he deserves. This clip is so gentle and sweet. Drawing the lines around his eyes to comfort her was unbelievably sensitive and loving.
I cannot exhaust this enough, but this is one of the purest friendships I've ever seen when it comes to 'villain' characters in BNHA AND IN GENERAL. The gentleman thief is one of my favorite tropes, and gentle all but reinvented it. After the unapologetic monster that was Overhaul, he’s something of a breath of fresh air.
I've never cared more about a villain duo than I have after seeing La Brava and Gentle Criminal's relationship. Their backstory of them meeting each other is so heartwarming. I loved when Gentle put black marks around his eyes for La Brava, it's so touching.
1:45 he colored his eyes in to make la brava feel better about hers. It wasn't said but the amount of care gentle showed la brava at this moment legit made me tear up

I wish that she was 23 because then they would have met when she was 18, not 16 (they state that they've been working together for 5 years) so that there was even less of an issue. There's no implication of them having done anything inappropriate with each other, with the exception of her hacking him to find where he lived.
La Brava and Gentle, like Bonnie and Clyde. He was her hope, her happiness, her beacon of light. And she accepted her as who she is. And that's what you call respect, kindness and love.
Small Box Harley and Joker are a toxic one- sided relationship, meanwhile Gentle and La Brava legitimately care for each other in a wholesome way. (I.e Gentle uses marker to draw dark circles around his eyes to make La Brava feel better about hers) The fact that you would even compare the two just because they are both villains and a couple is downright braindead.
Glip Glop I think he may have meant that Gentle and La Brava’s relationship is in many ways the opposite of Harley and Joker, yet still one between a criminal and his sidekick. Joker is horrible to Harley, but Gentle is, well, gentle to his partner. Small Box seems aware that Harley and Joker’s relationship is toxic, while Gentle and La Brava’s is healthy, and jokingly disparages those who consider the former superior to the latter. I believe you made an honest mistake by misinterpreting this comment, but it is important to recognize that comparisons can be drawn between healthy and unhealthy relationships without supporting the toxic one.
They are such an adorable duo, I almost cried when La Brava was feeling down and gentle helped her and even when she tracked where he lived, he didn’t turn her away.
these two are way too relatable, theyre very down to earth as villains and more lighthearted which i think is a super great balance to what we just experienced in the anime with overhaul. the line with her thinking "maybe i'll just say goodbye to my own life" REALLY solidified her as one of my favorite characters in the series, which is really odd because when i like a character its only because i REALLY like them. i dont have many favorites, and those that are my favorites are REALLY my favorites. shinso is one if you cant tell by my profile, i relate to him the most and think hes actually really inspiring as a character, but thats way off topic. these two are brilliant villains and i loved their arc more than i thought i would end up doing, which is great. really made me smile :,>
He may have done things the wrong way, but without him, La Brava would be dead. I love how you can look at some characters in MHA and know that if a few circumstances changed, Gentle could have been a normal hero.
S4 had absolutely amazing villains. From Overhaul to Gentle and La Brava. Both characters with believable goals. Though while Overhaul was a legit villain, I could still understand where he was coming from. Gentles is the same way, but he wasn’t a “ villain.” I’d consider Gentle more of a Hero, but corrupted by the unfair laws of Hero society. He is more of a corrupt Hero than a villain. This was a great season. Can’t wait for S5.

Danjuro, or Gentle Criminal as you know him, has a quirk that could've been very useful, but he was rejected almost instantaneously because instead of helping him in his own pace, society made him take the same classes in the same pace like else, and he failed because of this. You have a quirk that is an influence in your lovestruck personality. Whether it's due to your DOB, or something else entirely is unknown. Instead of helping you, society left you alone, and because of this, you had to face rejection the hard way. The problem isn't you two. It's society for having the means to help you both, but not even bothering to. Heck, if Izuku, that guy you two fought, never manifested his quirk, he would've become like Gentle Criminal. Only, in his own way. Or even STAIN.
Gentle turned to a life of villainy because the hero system failed him. Time and time again, he wanted to be a hero who saves lives, but time and time again, life spat in his face. But in an ironic twist, Gentle became a better hero than most by saving La Brava from suicide.
"Those of you lamenting the times, believe in me and follow me! I will change the world!" He's like what Stain could have been, or should have been: A charismatic voice to the disenfranchised, the despondent, the people who have lost their faith in the system, a man whose voice could be a rallying cry to create a better world.
I love Gentle's character so much! With how much La Brava loves him he could have easily used her to escape on his own but because he loves her just as much as she loves him he'd never even consider the idea

This was hard to watch. Never thought I’d cry for mha not even when sir died, maybe cuz I did the same thing to a girl back in high school, had stood up for her when other girls were teasing her, thought nothing of it but apparently meant a lot to her, she didn’t know how to confess so she used a compass blade and tore up the words “I ❤️ u” on my notebook. Wasn’t interested in her especially cuz my crush saw it, ended up embarrassing her by reporting to the teacher and having her explain to the whole class why she did it, I ended up becoming the thing I fought against. We made up and ended up friends tho but still I’m sure she must’ve been heartbroken. Ugh, I will make sure I teach empathy and kindness as long as I live. 🙏🏾
Just watched this episode whilst at work. Really like this episode more than I expected because I had super low expectations for this guy and his side kick but his origin is really sad. The girls is kinda basic got your typical high schooler but the execution is good. Her love for Genuine is like the love for an older brother rather than a boyfriend the way I see it.
La Brava isn't a high schooler, she is just drawn as very very short. She is a high school dropout who is now 21, and it is more romantic love. ( It shows a lot more later in the series with the small side stories iirc )
I guess you may be right about that... I never actually watched the anime not a full episode but at least a few clips or scenes every now and then but it does seem like that Gentle did save this innocent and sweet girl from taking her own life away even from one of his videos online she was watching on her computer screen. And somehow she started to develop feelings towards him and they kinda eventually became a cute little couple together and criminal duo as well.
Gentle is more generous than most heroes. None of his "crimes" are lethal, just trying to call out minor flaws of society, and took a stranger in who hacked his account. in 2020 we would call the cops on someone who does that
La Brava and Mr Gentleman find and reach out to each others just like league. Spoiler La Brava is a lot like Spinner in this scene, they are parallels.

I like how he has an individual lense to heroes and villains. It's not the title, it's the person that defines it. Honestly, Gentle and La Brava should have been heroes. They're too kind.
I enjoy the contrasts you see in Gentle and La Brava's retelling of the first meeting. She's much more muted in his version, while being much more earnest in hers. I hope they show up some more, even if just in non-canon OVAs. I didn't know what to expect from them, but these misfits are among my favorite characters in this series now.

I wish that she was 23 because then they would have met when she was 18, not 16 (they state that they've been working together for 5 years) so that there was even less of an issue. There's no implication of them having done anything inappropriate with each other, with the exception of her hacking him to find where he lived.

La Brava and Gentle, like Bonnie and Clyde. He was her hope, her happiness, her beacon of light. And she accepted her as who she is. And that's what you call respect, kindness and love.

Small Box Harley and Joker are a toxic one- sided relationship, meanwhile Gentle and La Brava legitimately care for each other in a wholesome way. (I.e Gentle uses marker to draw dark circles around his eyes to make La Brava feel better about hers) The fact that you would even compare the two just because they are both villains and a couple is downright braindead.
Glip Glop I think he may have meant that Gentle and La Brava’s relationship is in many ways the opposite of Harley and Joker, yet still one between a criminal and his sidekick. Joker is horrible to Harley, but Gentle is, well, gentle to his partner. Small Box seems aware that Harley and Joker’s relationship is toxic, while Gentle and La Brava’s is healthy, and jokingly disparages those who consider the former superior to the latter. I believe you made an honest mistake by misinterpreting this comment, but it is important to recognize that comparisons can be drawn between healthy and unhealthy relationships without supporting the toxic one.

They are such an adorable duo, I almost cried when La Brava was feeling down and gentle helped her and even when she tracked where he lived, he didn’t turn her away.

these two are way too relatable, theyre very down to earth as villains and more lighthearted which i think is a super great balance to what we just experienced in the anime with overhaul. the line with her thinking "maybe i'll just say goodbye to my own life" REALLY solidified her as one of my favorite characters in the series, which is really odd because when i like a character its only because i REALLY like them. i dont have many favorites, and those that are my favorites are REALLY my favorites. shinso is one if you cant tell by my profile, i relate to him the most and think hes actually really inspiring as a character, but thats way off topic. these two are brilliant villains and i loved their arc more than i thought i would end up doing, which is great. really made me smile :,>
He may have done things the wrong way, but without him, La Brava would be dead. I love how you can look at some characters in MHA and know that if a few circumstances changed, Gentle could have been a normal hero.

S4 had absolutely amazing villains. From Overhaul to Gentle and La Brava. Both characters with believable goals. Though while Overhaul was a legit villain, I could still understand where he was coming from. Gentles is the same way, but he wasn’t a “ villain.” I’d consider Gentle more of a Hero, but corrupted by the unfair laws of Hero society. He is more of a corrupt Hero than a villain. This was a great season. Can’t wait for S5.

Danjuro, or Gentle Criminal as you know him, has a quirk that could've been very useful, but he was rejected almost instantaneously because instead of helping him in his own pace, society made him take the same classes in the same pace like else, and he failed because of this.
You have a quirk that is an influence in your lovestruck personality. Whether it's due to your DOB, or something else entirely is unknown. Instead of helping you, society left you alone, and because of this, you had to face rejection the hard way.
The problem isn't you two. It's society for having the means to help you both, but not even bothering to.
Heck, if Izuku, that guy you two fought, never manifested his quirk, he would've become like Gentle Criminal. Only, in his own way. Or even STAIN.

Gentle turned to a life of villainy because the hero system failed him. Time and time again, he wanted to be a hero who saves lives, but time and time again, life spat in his face. But in an ironic twist, Gentle became a better hero than most by saving La Brava from suicide.

I love Gentle's character so much! With how much La Brava loves him he could have easily used her to escape on his own but because he loves her just as much as she loves him he'd never even consider the idea

This was hard to watch. Never thought I’d cry for mha not even when sir died, maybe cuz I did the same thing to a girl back in high school, had stood up for her when other girls were teasing her, thought nothing of it but apparently meant a lot to her, she didn’t know how to confess so she used a compass blade and tore up the words “I ❤️ u” on my notebook. Wasn’t interested in her especially cuz my crush saw it, ended up embarrassing her by reporting to the teacher and having her explain to the whole class why she did it, I ended up becoming the thing I fought against. We made up and ended up friends tho but still I’m sure she must’ve been heartbroken. Ugh, I will make sure I teach empathy and kindness as long as I live. 🙏🏾

This whole part with gentle criminal got me in the feels more than any other episode.
Just watched this episode whilst at work.
Really like this episode more than I expected because I had super low expectations for this guy and his side kick but his origin is really sad.
The girls is kinda basic got your typical high schooler but the execution is good. Her love for Genuine is like the love for an older brother rather than a boyfriend the way I see it.
La Brava isn't a high schooler, she is just drawn as very very short. She is a high school dropout who is now 21, and it is more romantic love. ( It shows a lot more later in the series with the small side stories iirc )
Gentle managed to prevent one innocent girl from committing suicide.

I guess you may be right about that... I never actually watched the anime not a full episode but at least a few clips or scenes every now and then but it does seem like that Gentle did save this innocent and sweet girl from taking her own life away even from one of his videos online she was watching on her computer screen. And somehow she started to develop feelings towards him and they kinda eventually became a cute little couple together and criminal duo as well.
Gentle is more generous than most heroes. None of his "crimes" are lethal, just trying to call out minor flaws of society, and took a stranger in who hacked his account. in 2020 we would call the cops on someone who does that

I love how Hirokoshi was able to show us another perspective in how we view "hero's" and "villain's". Amazing.
I like how he has an individual lense to heroes and villains. It's not the title, it's the person that defines it. Honestly, Gentle and La Brava should have been heroes. They're too kind.
I enjoy the contrasts you see in Gentle and La Brava's retelling of the first meeting. She's much more muted in his version, while being much more earnest in hers.
I hope they show up some more, even if just in non-canon OVAs. I didn't know what to expect from them, but these misfits are among my favorite characters in this series now.

I honestly hope we see these two again. They are both a little broken but sometimes just having someone in your life that cares about you is all you need.
