In my opinion, Costa Rica real estate is not a good investment. Very difficult to sell it and I’ve seen values decrease. Everything is overpriced and sellers are stubborn to lower prices so they sit on the market for years.
This is a very interesting story to tell, I have been a tenant for a very long time because I was working as a foreman for a construction company in New Jersey, My wife was a high school teacher and we have a son, we were happy as a family but not very happy because we need a place to call our home, actually, I will say a very nice house we can buy with a well furnished parlor and a lovely Fair sized house built of red Lyons Sandstone with the most god-awful-looking picket fence I’d ever seen. Well, it was not possible to achieve at first because our income was not high enough to purchase such luxury, I worked 9 to 5pm and also do the extra job to earn money to enable my family to have a comfortable life, it was not as easy as it seems, you should understand what I mean if you are struggling to have a home as a well affordable house it can be a Flat, Single-family (detached, Condominium, Apartment, Co-op, Town home, Bungalow, Ranch-Style, Cottage, Cabin, Chalet, Tiny home, Mansion, Contemporary Mansion, etc. I have to say nothing is impossible if you take the right decision and consult the right company or organization that will give you a lifetime opportunity to become a landlord of your dream home without no loan or unfavorable contract that will be a burden which comes with a mortgage high enough to rip your brain apart, well there is good news for everyone Low-income earners or high earners, Non-citizen or legitimate Citizen can benefit no one is exempted from these wonderful benefits, I was so skeptical about sharing this news because I just don't know if it was proper to do so, but my conscience keeps hunting me if I do not share this good news to those who urgently need to be a landlord owning a property and be free from paying rent. well my friend told me about this construction company (www.woodpipex.com) they made my life meaningful I just contacted them via their official website, chat room, or there company direct MAIL (sales@woodpipex.com) that decision I took changed my life forever.

Great content. We live and operate the #1 rated restaurant in playas del coco, Guanacaste (fyi-for sale or franchise) and can offer this suggestion. If you want to make money from your investment purchase or build 'commercial' not residential. If you want rental income on your residential property investment at least hire a property management firm to handle the day to day issues that will arise. If you simply fall in love and want a legacy residential property to gift your grandchildren you will be in good company. Pura Vida

Foreigners almost half the same rights as Costa Ricans when it comes to buying property except when you're close to the beach. Foreigners can buy properties near the beach. Look it up
Hm, the properties actually cost more than I thought in Costa Rica. It would be nice to own property there but I don't think I would be able to put in the work to do the research. Sounds like you'd have to live there for a bit to get the feel of the real estate market.

dantae666, I think that is a good choice. I highly recommend renting there and taking your time looking. There are some good deals for those that aren't in a hurry.
When you see bars on every home that’s not in a gated community, you know the crime is really bad. The U.S. investors destroyed any value to be had down there. Paying cash isn’t an option for 90% of the would be buyers. The locals target Americans with “Gringo” pricing and makes it a horrible risk to buy. We haven’t even gotten to the extreme pricing of anything at the store.

Hm, the properties actually cost more than I thought in Costa Rica. It would be nice to own property there but I don't think I would be able to put in the work to do the research. Sounds like you'd have to live there for a bit to get the feel of the real estate market.
Yes, living there for a while first is best. It's not the cheap paradise it once was.
