Brother Rick. An excellent practice drill for putting is the look directly at the hole, or point you are aiming at, and then putt the ball while keeping your eyes on the hole or aiming point. Don't look back down at the ball while doing your putting stroke. It's gonna feel weird at first, but it teaches you to trust your stroke, and it help tremendously with distance control. On the course, you will have a much better feel for the distance when performing a regular putt. One caveat, I'm not sure this works well with the claw grip.
Rick Shiels Golf I started playing this year and was a 3 month member at Nelson. I could putt better on hole 8 with my clubs that cost £20 😂😂😂 (also I'm a girl)
I'm so glad you uploaded this as would have been so easy to not. Welcome to my world every time I hit the course! Genuinely laughed at a couple of points and the comments you guys make were top class!
Lads, this course vlog has been brilliant and really showed just how difficult the game can be. Made me feel loads better about my game when you see that even the pros have days like us normal average joe players. :-) Keep up the great work!
I don't know why Rick has asked us to send a hate. It makes my day. Now I know even the Pro cannot play this game well at all time, this does not apply to a high handicapper like myself. Thanks Rick.
Bahahahaha. Absolutely loved the "why won't it go in." Rick, seriously pretty great that you kept it together & didn't have the happy Gilmore moment Pete mentioned (on camera at least ;))
I’m so so sorry fellas, but I’m tears, “just taaaaaaap it in” 😂 we have all been there ( me many times over the years ) glad to see you have both got sorted since this time last year. 🤙
I love the game for the sheer mental challenges it can provide. I am sending you both a gift for your efforts. A very large bottle of scotch for Pete and a scrubbing brush for his eyes.... Oh and Rick.... what size straight jacket do you need? P.S. You lads make some very entertaining content... keep it up.. I think?
All i use off the Tee is 3 wood and 5 wood, driver never touches my hand, unless its a long par 4 and its into wind, sacrifice yardage for accuracy every time
OK gents, I usually watch your video's for inspirational confidence to improve my golfing mind-set. I'm now going through the yellow pages to find a reputable sports psychologist to repair the lasting damage you two have done to my game...........
lol had to cut it at the end there cause rick threw his putter and started yelling " get in your home! why wont you go in your home! you too good for your home!"
first it started with three top shots with a three wood in the earlier parts and it ended with a five possibly more putt. lol couldn't write my own autobiography any better...
Hey Pete! Is it just a result of the video or are the greens in your area terrible? Every course video of yours and Ricks that I watch it seems like you are having to hammer the ball and its jumping all over the place. Is that just cinema magic?
P.S. I understand that the greens in this particular video seem to be having some work done. This is more of a general comment on all the courses you play in your area
John Charleson northwest of england mate. All the courses round here are on clay so drainage is terrible ( unless a links). Takes about 6 weeks for tracks to dry out and as it always rains here that never happens but the scenery is quite pretty so not all bad.
It wasn't even a really sloped green, nor a tricky pin placement, or a super fast green. I've never even seen a 5putt before. That's more rare than a hole in 1.......congratulations rick
forget the rest of the things you boys do,hacking and topping your way around a golf course like the rest of us is what we want to see! Keep up the good work! lol
I HAVE NOT WATCHED AND I REFUSE TO DO SO!
Feel free to give me hate below!
Speechless..but no hate

can I have your putter if you have not thrown it in a lake somewhere!?
Rick Shiels Golf I started playing this year and was a 3 month member at Nelson. I could putt better on hole 8 with my clubs that cost £20 😂😂😂 (also I'm a girl)
Something tells me that putter's not going to stay in the bag much longer...
Funniest video ever. Rick this was definitely a real treat. Listening to Pete laugh behind the camera made it so much better.
LOL the last green had me in tears 'why won't it go in?' haha genius
I'm so glad you uploaded this as would have been so easy to not. Welcome to my world every time I hit the course! Genuinely laughed at a couple of points and the comments you guys make were top class!
Great to see Pete taking time out of his day to take a new golfer for his first round of golf! Great Stuff!
"Why won't it go in?"😂😂. I've been there, my man!
RIP Rick's Putter...
Seriously tough Rick, I respect how cool you stayed throughout the ordeal. We can all learn from this. Hang in there brah!
Why won't it go in? And then the laugh...f'in hysterical!!
Lads, this course vlog has been brilliant and really showed just how difficult the game can be. Made me feel loads better about my game when you see that even the pros have days like us normal average joe players. :-) Keep up the great work!
This is hilarious. Literally tears in my eyes. Is Rick still putting? lol
I don't know why Rick has asked us to send a hate. It makes my day. Now I know even the Pro cannot play this game well at all time, this does not apply to a high handicapper like myself. Thanks Rick.
Ahahaha! "Why won't it go in?"....brilliant. This is raw golf fellas 😂
Haha funniest video yet. Brilliant work guys, seen both ends of the golf spectrum in the last few weeks!!!
Rick-Mate I cant turn away. I've watched so many of your vlogs and you looked like a normal golfer. Hit a good shot and 4 put.
I 'm in tears watching this...weirdly I feel better about my own game!
As always.... fun to watch you guys..... Keep them coming....
Bahahahaha. Absolutely loved the "why won't it go in." Rick, seriously pretty great that you kept it together & didn't have the happy Gilmore moment Pete mentioned (on camera at least ;))
Haha guys you had me in stitches. I'very been there many times and also said why won't it go in !!
This course just keeps on giving!

Funniest vlog in ages!!!! Loved it
Really enjoy your play. We all have those days Rick, you just needed a few more ghoul holes.
Quest for 3-putt.

Fun to watch Rick.
Just concentration is all.
Legend says he's still putting
this is so relatable to , this is a great video
what did pete's approach shot that bounced far left hit?
Oh, that was terrific! Great work to clean that up:)
Fantastic, really enjoyed it guys thank you
Rick, have you thought about using aimpoint? I recently started using it and my putting has improved dramatically.
It should be compulsory to celebrate any putt outside 10ft McIlroy and Reed style! Good effort Pete 😃👍
Thanks Peter too
"why wont it go in?"
😂 😂 😂 crying here
I love the game for the sheer mental challenges it can provide. I am sending you both a gift for your efforts. A very large bottle of scotch for Pete and a scrubbing brush for his eyes.... Oh and Rick.... what size straight jacket do you need?
P.S. You lads make some very entertaining content... keep it up.. I think?
Rick having a Ernie els moment
Gives us all hope
Pete, yourself and Rick seem to play very safe courses, what score would you hope to shoot say on a lynx course?
Glad you guys can still have fun with the game even on an off day. #playbecauseyouloveit
You have to look at the positives Rick... :-) there are some somewhere :-/Great video guys...
This makes me feel so much better about my golf, somehow ;)
Another Rick's whats in the bag coming out soon:this time i bring 14 putters with me
Not gonna lie probably my favorite course vlog from you 2 😂 #nowheretogobutup
That was brilliant. Chin up lads.
I say throw away the putter and find another one Rick! LOL great one though, enjoyed it on your expense
I freaking love this 😂😂 so funny
Just hilarious pure comedy moment
EvenRoll gets em rolling
"Why won't it go in"
-Rick Shiels, An Autobiography
What are the lines on the greens, and doe's if effect the ball roll
I just want to see the picture of the broken putter shaft that followed that round....unbelievable Rick....
Impressive putting that.
"It won't go in" 😂😂
Funniest video I seen in a long time 😂😂😂😂
Rick, why so many three woods off the tee. I feel like quite a few holes would have been better suited to driver or 2iron.
Hahaha, one of best vlogs😂😂
You guys are great! Keep up the insanity!
All i use off the Tee is 3 wood and 5 wood, driver never touches my hand, unless its a long par 4 and its into wind, sacrifice yardage for accuracy every time
good stuff, very entertaining
Rick you need to take the positives from this Vlog.
1: You do put the tee peg in the ground really well.
this makes me feel better about my 2x 3 putts today
Haha 10:35 "Unlucky Reek" If you've watched Game of Thrones, you're not quite as unlucky as Reek
What technology are you using for protracer?
OK gents, I usually watch your video's for inspirational confidence to improve my golfing mind-set. I'm now going through the yellow pages to find a reputable sports psychologist to repair the lasting damage you two have done to my game...........
lol had to cut it at the end there cause rick threw his putter and started yelling " get in your home! why wont you go in your home! you too good for your home!"
Classic!
We need more
Putting like Thor!
first it started with three top shots with a three wood in the earlier parts and it ended with a five possibly more putt. lol couldn't write my own autobiography any better...
This is the funniest comment section I've ever seen on a golf video
just tap, tap, tap it in 😂😂😂
Best advice I've heard...if you're not smiling while playing golf you're doing it wrong!
just a tap it in, just a tap tap tap a roo!
what do you use to create the pro tracer?
Today rick was sergio(except in the ryder cup)
I want to know what happened on the 9th, was it even played or was it a walk off lol
Brilliant, unlucky Rick!
What happened to all your wonderful par saves from the first course vlog?😅😂😂😂

If anything, it makes me feel better about my game.
wow........quest for the open Rob Potter
Send that retriever after your ball Pete.
I can't get over how people in England in these vlogs just walk across golf courses like it is a park.
Forget the quest for the open Reek or shall I say Rick
Rick it seems that you change putting grips on every hole lol
wow Rick!?!? Just wow! we've all had days like this...sorry mate
I'm pretty certain will affect my game tomorrow haha
forget the rest of the things you boys do,hacking and topping your way around a golf course like the rest of us is what we want to see! Keep up the good work! lol
Oh dear ... back to the putting studio for Rick I fear!
