    Nice honest review. Always glad to hear a "not necessarily" when asked about the value.
    You've either talked me in to or out of a sale, I'm not sure which. 😂

    Excellent vid. Hope for more of these. Anji has much lower pollution that its competitor areas even though they have the same variety.

    It’s labour intensive but the hype probably contributes to the high price

    A friend of mine gifted a box of this to me in Shenzhen two weeks ago. I hadn't been expecting much from it, but my wife and I were struck by how amazing it's flavour was.

    Hello Don, I'm a new subscriber and your channel is great with lots of information for any person interested in the world of tea. The quality and passion you put in your videos is excellent. I would love to see a video on Shincha (varieties, history, etc.) and also a video with the differences between fukamushi and asamushi steaming (the teaware you need for fukamishi, etc.). Thanks a lot for all the enthusiasm and information you share with us!

    Good video. Hardly noticed how the minutes passed by. Very captivating video. To your question: is this brand of tea overpriced I would answer with another question: wasn't your presentation a tiny little bit overacted? :-) It was refreshing to see the action from the frontline of teapicking and tea producing! Loved it!!! Hats off to the 88-year old Chinese lady!!!

    Is it overpriced? Short answer yes. Long answer yeeeeeees.
    BTW the timing is perfect, yesterday I received my pouch of discounted Anji Bai Cha from last year :)

    When I first travelled to China in the '80's this tea was never even mentioned. Now it's a big deal.

      I have traveled to China since the '80's up until last year on business. I realize it had changed dramatically. Just an observation on my part as to the evolution of this tea.

    Don, I saw a video about Coffee culture in Yunnan and how it's increasing and maybe even rivaling Pu-Erh tea? What can you tell me about this? Hopefully tea culture will never die.

    Great video, the tea might be good but at 3 times the price of Long Jing or Young Gushu, I would pick one of those instead (which I prefer in taste anyway)...

    Why do you pronounce words like 回 or 鬼 as "hwee" and "gwee" instead of "hway" and "gway" as you should?? :)

    • @gayzion
      @gayzion 5 ปีที่แล้ว

      And what an amazing video!!

    • @FlandraLabs
      @FlandraLabs 5 ปีที่แล้ว

      Probably because the pinyin is "hui" and "gui"?
      The anglicized pronunciation is certainly not "hway" or "gway"

    • @gayzion
      @gayzion 5 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      @@FlandraLabs it's inaccurate but better than reading the pinyin the way it's spelled..?
