    I was a salesman for DALI speakers in the mid to late 80's. Back then they were partnered with NAD. I still own an original ( never been changed in any way) working pair today. BTW, I use OHNO speaker cables in my system because my integrated amp is wired with OHNO.

    I use these on my TV setup together with the low cost Dali SUB C-8 D. All combined with Bluesound Node 330. So good for both movies and music :)

    Ok, I got a pair and my room acoustics might need some treatment. I am getting a lot of bass, so I pulled them 3 feet from front wall and now it's much better. I might try some acoustic foam on wall behind them but they sound great. Dali recommends 100 hrs of break in will see if they get even better. Running them on a Rotel rb990 bx amp with a parasound php 850 preamp. I do have a sub as well but don't have to set it to loud for the Oberons.

    • @audioarkitekts

      You gotta remember Oberon's have a 7 inch driver. It's going to be bassier than smaller bookshelf speakers

    • @robertstolz2632
      @robertstolz2632 3 ปีที่แล้ว

      Yeah I realize that but the bass is to thick or muddy sounding, I had some paradigm 5se mkii with 8 inch woofers prior to this set up and they weren't as thick sounding, I'll try some different positioning. I have a rectangular room with front and back wall 3 times as long as side walls. I'll try setting them going the other way and see what that does.
      Thanks for the response.

      Break in is NONSENSE. 100 hours is NONSENSE, where does that come from, demand an answer. If a speaker requires "break in" you are being bamboozled.

    • @robertstolz2632
      @robertstolz2632 3 ปีที่แล้ว

      Ok I got them 2 feet from the front wall, and now they are perfect, love it. That's 2 feet from wall to front of drivers.

      I've had mine for four months now and they get better every session. At first, the difference from out of the box was minimal over the first 30 or so hours, then they improved exponentially after that. I prefer grills on and a slight treble boost Vs grilles off with a slight treble cut - especially in my tiny listening room

      I have bought these about 2 weeks ago. I had them recommended by a seller in my local audio store. They looks good, sounds amazing but not the way all people might like... I used to love quite bass heavy speakers with a hissing highs... until I have bought these. Sound stage is so wide, male voices amazing, if you compare to my old setup, lows are fast and accurate (but you will not like them if you love kinda sound of JBL's bluetooth speakers as they are sounding differently)... in my mind, it's plenty highs are quite bright but not fatiguing (especially with a front grill on). These speakers loves to be played on higher volumes levels - for 2, weeks I have been listening them on lover volumes, and recently turned them up - amazing experience. Overall, an amazing speaker. If you are looking for a bookshelves speakers, then I would class them as stand-mount speakers as these are quite big. I just adore them, but in a near future I will be ordering a subwoofer to accompany them, just for a more-meaty low's. If I could turned back time and had a bit more space, I would go for Oberon 5. It's about £100 more expensive but sounds 'richer'. I'm listening rock and metal music but, from time to time, I love to listen to classical music, and, in this price point, it's hard to find any speaker to co-op with my requirements... Just buy them

    Does this Speaker sound good with metal or metalcore? I´m searching for a good speaker wo is not too warm (not good for metal) but also not fatiguing and I do not like the klipsch sound.

      In case you're still considering - I bought the 7s, along with a Vokal to replace my aging Yamaha 5.1 system. I wanted something that would be great for home theater but could also deliver music to a high enough standard. I have spent a lot of money on IEMs, headphones and a great digital audio player, so my mobile listening is audiophile/reference level. I have heard AMAZING speakers, but I cannot afford them.
      It's been two years with the Dalis. I am STILL marvelling at the quality of sound. I absolutely love them and feel no need to upgrade. I absolutely love them. They still make me stop and really listen. Amazing for 5.1, stunning for stereo. Imaging is something else! One of the best investments I have made, these will probably be with me for life (they were my present to myself on my 50th!)

      Oberon 1’s sounded great in the demo room at the retailers however were a little bit lost in my medium sized room. The Oberon 3’s are larger so if size is an issue maybe go for the Oberon 1’s. If size isn’t a problem I would definitely recommend the extra expense for the Oberon 3’s
