    I love your enthusiasm towards having a student. When I was a nursing student, I loved being able to work with nurses who were so receptive to students as you seem to be towards your students!

    I do believe you coming into my recommended and my mind instantly going “heck yeah lets watch this” is a divine sign from the heavens because I’m a PCT for an in-center dialysis place and while I’m happy to have gotten that job, I’m now wanting to go back to school but I just don’t know what to go for but with your video I think I have an idea so thank you!

    Do you have any friends that went to CRNA school in Puerto Rico btw? Just wondering. The money for school is what is scaring me. Im saving as much as I can

    So I've watched several videos of you getting ready for work in the am and was wondering what spray you are using on your hair? Your hair always looks nice. I also am dammed to the surgical caps and the dreaded "cap head". Thought I'd try it out!!
    Thanks 😊

    • @TheWildFam
      @TheWildFam  3 ปีที่แล้ว

      Haha the scrub caps definitely don’t help us out on the hair game! So I just use dry shampoo in the morning and a little bit of hairspray to smooth out any fly always if needed!

    Fantastic channel. I admire your dedication and attention to detail. I have been in the OR for 30 years, you do it well. I am from Australia where things are done differently and I was wondering as a CRNA do you prescribe medications for the patient to take home post operatively or does this differ by state of practise in the US.

    • @Peter-gr7wx
      @Peter-gr7wx 3 ปีที่แล้ว

      @@TheWildFam Great system. All Anaesthesia in Australia is provided by Medical Practitioners. In almost all cases these are Anaesthetists (even the spelling is different) or General Practitioner Anaesthetists although these are typically in the country areas only. They do their own prescribing which is why I asked. Under the law these Doctors must have an anaesthetic nurse or as described in legislation "a competent assistant" to provide any GA. Therefore, theres a highly competent nurse with the the Anaesthetic provider all the time. Many of the tasks such as arranging the airways and any equipment, setting up the machine, supplying the medications for them to prepare, etc are tasks we do. Along with assisting them in the 5% you so accurately speak of. Well Done Sarah.

    This may be a personal question, but in your current position when you are on call is the on call pay rate something like $3-$5ish dollars an hour! I’m a current SRNA and so far the people I’ve asked their on call pay is minimal lol

    I’m a former hospital administrator following my dream of CRNA. I’m currently in my 4th block of an accelerated BSN/RN program and holding good grades. What GPA did you have? I know that schools do look at the entire applicant, but I wanted to get your take on what you think someone with an MBA, and experience in administration, would need to get in. Great video. Thanks for sharing.

    I just got accepted into Nursing school, and start my RN program this Fall!! I’m excited and nervous, however, I am interested in pursuing a career as a CRNA. Do you think the career has a good outlook within the next 10-12 years or do you think it will become saturated kinda like the NP role?

  • @daniellesmith8565

    I’m interested in becoming an RNFA but most people don’t know what that is and it is extremely hard to find information. I’m hearing that RNFA’s aren’t being used in the OR as much anymore and PA’s are being used for assist more often. I don’t want to invest in a field that I’m not going to be able to find a job in once i graduate. Do you know any RNFA’s. If it’s not too much to ask can you ask their perspective?

    This is a random question but how do bathroom breaks work while on the job? Do you just hold it until surgeries or patients are done being tended to or are you allowed to go? I know this is so random but I have always had a weak bladder and need to plan around things that are time sensitive LOL

    I'm a CMA, EMT-B until I test for my A-EMT, I'm 44 lol, someone told me I should go for this, but honestly I don't want to spend the next 3-6 yrs. full time in college!
    I'm going to a GI place to do some more Medical Assistant stuff then start my prerequisites for RN next spring!
    Is a bachelor degree required for a what you do?

    • @Medic09
      @Medic09 3 ปีที่แล้ว

      Thank you, I have my instructor course completed as well for CPR Instructor for AHA lol, maybe I should have just started my RN 2 years ago!
      The CRNA that is at the place I'm going to gets a 6 figure salary I was told.......WOW!!!!
      I think it was around $200,000!
      Even if I don't go that route, being an RN in the ER ans then maybe some time in CC & ICU is where I want to be!
      Thanks again for your response!
