- This video is all about how I got into CRNA school on my first admission cycle. CRNA school admission can be challenging, but use these tips to get in on the first try! This is a video I recorded back in 2022 during my didactic year of CRNA school.
I love the tip about taking a break. 3 years dedicated to school after many years for school is a huge commitment.
I’m in the stage of taking courses to boost my science GPA. I too got C’s in a&p II and micro, which is cringing for me lol but I don’t want to let it hinder me. Thanks for this insight!
Best of luck applying! Grades do not define you, and there are ways to overcome those obstacles.
@@DavidWarrenNP thanks so much!
Hey pls what school or state are you in
@@onyinyeonyeoma2800 hello currently not in school!
Take an English class too
This has been so informative for prepping for CRNA! Thank you for going all the way back to high school lol! 😂
High school 🤣🤣🤣
This was very informative. I’m in nursing school right now, ABSN and although I’m studying for 8-12hrs some days I feel as if I may not be studying correctly. I have a deep understanding of the material, especially in conversation with my peers but that doesn’t seem to translate on the exams. Any advice?
Thanks for the update really appreciated....how long does it take to do CRNA programme?
I have a cGPA 3.5 and scGPA 3.7 and I'm still doubting I can get in. A colleague of mine mentioned his cGPA 3.8 and was mentioning how that seems to be the norm at one of the schools he has applied to. Idk, just seems daunting.
You can
David, I have not watched all of your videos, but do you mind sharing how old you are? I am 36 and afraid that I am too old for a CRNA school. What's the average age of your peers? I was thinking about becoming an NP but I have some serious concerns about mid-level providers and their education being completely online :(
I am 32 and plan on applying next summer to start in 2025. I’ll be 38 by the time I finish (assuming I get accepted for the 2025 cohort). I also thought about my age. But I am settled with kids and a supportive spouse who is already on board with moving my whole family to wherever I get accepted.
Its never to late, im 35 and im going for it, when you in your 40’s remenber its the new 30.. go for it
@@elvirascox NEVER Too Old‼️
I'm 42 and going for it!
@@elvirascox I know this is a year old but don’t let age hold you back. My coworker is 50 and just became an NP. I have another coworker that is 58 and about to graduate NP school. Also, I became an RN at 39 and my wife became an NP at 36. Go for it!! I’m still thinking about becoming a CRNA and I’m about to turn 41 soon.
Can you elaborate on how you were admitted to CRNA without ICU experience? I was just hired for level 1 trauma ED but now I think I want to transfer to the ICU to become a CRNA.
@@abdelrahmanabouelnour5367 hmm maybe surgical/ OR experience
@@abdelrahmanabouelnour5367 He goes to National University which counts ICU, ER, Flight experience. I know some schools only take ICU and others take ER but not flight. It just depends on the program you’re applying to.
Great information
Thank you for watching!
Hello! Freshman year i was majoring in biology to become a RN. Chemistry kicked my butt and i got my first science “C” grade. This led me to switching majors to psychology out of fear that i couldn’t do it. Does chemistry continue to build on after undergrad? And did you struggle with it too? Any words would be appreciated. Thanks.
@princessnico7025 I have a bachelor's degree in psychology. It has been an utter waste of time. Go for nursing.
@ … i have a year left😭
Great tips!! You rock man! I really enjoy donating to the CRNA Foundation, since it was hard for me to go to college after I graduated high school in 08 because of my cerebral palsy! Do you know how can I become a patient advocate for CRNA?
Hey Darrion. Thanks for watching! I would check out the AANA website- there are pages dedicated to spreading word of CRNAs, and information for patients. You can also check out the NBCRNA website, as well, which is our credentialing body.
@@DavidWarrenNP ok you welcome and thanks! You rock man
Do you think it is possible to go from pmhnp to crna?
If you have the ICU experience, grades, and motivation- then yes.
I'm a pmhnp I've decided to go back to ICU and apply for CRNA
Long hair looks great on you.
Ten minute videos.
