A beautiful bass made even more special by the story of how it came to be. Thank you for sharing that, Scott. Sometimes our heroes turn out to be absolutely deserving of every accolade and compliment they get along the way. Hats off to Jim Lea, John Diggins, and everyone else who helped make this dream bass a reality in your hands!
Scott, thank you for showing me the beauty of Slade. I’ve listened to the entire 1st album today, and Jim’s bass playing is jaw dropping. Keep these videos coming! - Todd
Love Slade 🎸 Fantastic band. After bumping into Jim’s son before ‘lockdown’ & not believing who his Dad was, he called him & passed me his phone. Wow what a blast! Absolutely fantastic chatting to him for 1/2 hr! He was more interested in me & what I did than his brilliant Slade stories. Awesome 👍🏻🇬🇧🎸
That's a amazing story! I loved Slade when I was young, I still do. One of the most underrated bands of the 70s and 80s. Jim as a bassist rates tops on my list. Being from the USA I'm a bit of a oddity.
Watch out for Jim's documentary coming soon, been working with Jim and many others on his story, was with Jim last year and we had the JB Bass out...it's a monster!
For anyone who doesn't know, Jim does a small tribute to McCartney during the last section of 'Mama Weer all Crazee now'.....listen really close, it's there!
Jimmy is a true musician. So nice to see such a nice tribute to him and his instrument
Great to see Slade given the respect they deserve.

Great to see and hear Jim is such a hero, overlooked in UK so much these days.
On the Slade live at Reading EP Jim played Purple Haze on bass as part of his solo before switching to violin
Jim is a legend, love him to bits!!

Can you point me towards this documentary please?
Great to hear an American who knows about/loves Slade❤️👍
Didn't realise that the beginning of 'Gudbuy T' Jane' was played on the bass by Jim; always learning!
