I have missed your Voiceplay/Geoff reactions, I'm so glad you are here!! I never heard the song, never saw the movie, and of course it didn't matter. I was mesmerized by this as soon as it was released on Patreon, I've been binge watching it ever since. Love your reaction. Geoff has been resisting doing this one for years, either with Voiceplay or as a solo. The evil nature of the man just made it one he did not want to do. Finally the fans and Layne's arrangement persuaded him. Did you catch Cesar's instrumental bit? He was playing the air guitar to emphasize it, but Eli was hitting an F5 at the same time. Can't wait for your next one!!! بحبكن
Actually, they are singing WITH Chicago. And yes - I, too wish I could have gone. At least the show is being taped and should eventually be available for viewing.
Thank you so much for another priceless reaction to Voice Play. It is always a pleasure watching your reactions to Geoff & Voice Play. It's great to have you back again. Sure there are other bass singers out there that can go lower but none as smooth as Geoff. His transitions from low to high & high to low are second to none. His bass tone is so much more pleasant to hear than others. Geoff always said that it's not how low you can sing , it's how good it sounds.
I've been waiting forever for this reaction of yours! ❤ Edit: And glad that the song for you was everything that you hoped it to be. I did not know it before VoicePlay did it, so it needed them to get me hooked on the music. Anyway, it's great.
How funny...when you were playing the lowest D on your keyboard, I heard a really loud 5th overtone! It's probably just how the mic picked it up. I hear overtones in their music all the time too! Great reaction. It's fun watching them with you!
Yaaay you are back!!!! Thank you for this... can't wait for the next one. I second the motion for a tour! They're performing tonight with the legendary band Chicago. We wish them well! 🌹🕊
I would love it if they toured again, but unfortunately that is unlikely, for several reasons - one, they are still short of a permanent 5th member (until J finishes his Navy tour in a couple of years!), two - they are (for the most part) all older now, with families - Eli's wife is due with their first any time now, Geoff has a young son, Layne has daughters, and thirdly - touring took a lot out of them then, and without a label behind them would be incredibly expensive - we can but hope!
Yes, I would love to see this -- or any performance of VP live. And yes, I think it would sell tickets all over the world and they could do it forever to worldwide acclaim. But they don't want to! They want to keep making new songs, new arrangements, new amazing music for all of their admirers AND for themselves! I DO think it would be great if they would do SOME live concerts, even if only in Orlando area. I get that they're family guys and don't want to do frequent or extensive tours, but may 2 concert series a year: one in Orlando and one in another city -- the "other city" changing from year to year. Anyone else think that's a good idea? (I know I'm posting this 10 months after this reaction came out, so not many people will see it. Oh well!)
To me, this video is stunning, evil, mesmerizing and absolutely unforgettable. Tonight and tomorrow, Nov 17 and 18, VoicePlay will be onstage with Chicago in New Jersey. What I wouldn't give to be there.
IKR, the 1995 musical was awesome, not only did the composer do a great job, but the singers were so cool. I also watched it in French. Never seen the Disney animated one, actually. People say it's even less like the book than the musical, like no one dies in the end or something, but it's still pretty dark for a family picture. If they ever did a live-action remake and didn't cast Geoff as Frollo, I would be extremely pissed
Often at the end of VoicePlay videos, what you hear in the background to the Patreon's names is the karaoke version of the piece, the full version of which is a Patreon perq.
Hey bro! I just wanted to say that your reactions are the best! Thank you for introducing me to so many amazing artists! You have made a difference by simply being true to yourself.
Hey!!! You just made me so happy!! That’s literally why we do this and to read what you wrote just gives me so much energy to keep going. Thank you for taking the time to write this. LOVE YOUUUUU ❤️❤️❤️
It is weird how this song is so dark and creepy, yet somehow soothing at the end as well. But that could just be because it's Voiceplay, who are a cure for many ailments.
What fun to see you here again! Your anecdote about watching it as a child was perfect - and I literally laughed out loud when you said "I don't speak French." I often feel that VP takes me to an entirely different world...... I like your vision of them taking the show around the world. I think a lot of us wish that something like that, with some one (or more) of their songs, would happen. They really are past ready to do an evening long performance of a single show. Hope you do Drunken Sailor soon - it's really, really funny and it's that classic VP skill: they take a repetitive, boring song and make it constantly changing, beautiful, and into an entire world. Remarkable treatment for a song that was originally so mundane .
Yess! I’ve been enjoying your reaction videos!! Thank you!! So fun to watch! Definitely check out Geoff’s “Jack’s Lament” from The Nightmare Before Christmas!! That one was a Halloween special from his solo work. I think you will really enjoy it! 🎃
Oh, how wonderful, this for me is an early christmas gift! Hope you are back to Voiceplay for more. I was missing your reactions to them so much. Didn't you miss them as much, as we missed you?
I waited for your reaction so long! Happy to see you again. I was afraid you got into troubles there in the Near East..😢 Stay safe please and go on with your reactions on VP & Geoff... ❤😊
Geoff does a couple of videos on his channel, How To Sing REALLY Low, where he explains how he does it. It these videos are 3 years old, and he says he found doing sub-harmonic notes difficult. Now he does them all the time.
Welcome back to Voiceplay. I've missed your reactions to them and Geoff. Looking forward to more. "Drunken Sailor' (Voiceplay) and "Jack's Lament "(Geoff ) should be your next ones.
As much as I have enjoyed your other reactions, I am so glad you are back to VP & Geoff. That is how I found your channel and they are still my favorites to re-watch. Can't wait to see what other video of theirs you have planned!🥰
I attended a night-time classical concert in Notre Dame about five months before the fire. Avro Part, Stravinsky, and one other. Small orchestra with choir. Magical
As far as subharmonics go, if you go to his personal channel he does have some explanations on how he does that. After watching that I decided, with zero musical training and not much of a voice, to try it. For weeks I would walk around making these sounds trying to get that magic point it would convert it to a subharmonic. One day out of nowhere it actually worked. I was so surprised that I stopped making “noise” and haven’t been able too achieve it since but it is possible. As far as the Patreon roll goes - over the last year or two they’ve been including portions of the karaoke track as the patron roll goes on. As a patron, the karaoke track is available to us. I don’t have musical training and I have trouble recognizing a lot of the musical things that go on because I become transfixed by the whole musical experience. By listening to the karaoke track several times I can go back and re-listen and hear a totally different version because I am paying attention to all of the pieces not merely the lead. Next to the behind-the-scenes videos, having access to the karaoke track is my favorite part of the Patreon perks. I’m glad you got around to this.
Geoff's voice is mesmerizing. When ive had a stressful day at work i like to listen to Over The Misty Mountains Cold by Geoff. Those low notes seem to make the stress melt away.😊
Hi Arab Man, you were anticipating something stunning as you grasped your hands together so tightly it showed the whites of your knuckles. Thank you for doing a wonderful reaction genuine appreciation for what you heard and saw. There is no doubt that Voiceplay wins hands down over Home Free. At least the Acappella songs can be appreciated by all who listen. Many of their releases they go out of their way with acting skills, costumes, make-up and great sets. I am looking forwars to future reactions....however, today as the others you're glued to the screen as you heard those notes that you have to replay. Otherwise you sit listening in awe speechless. A man after my own heart. Like I said to you a while back, you are also doing a Dimash a thon so you have created East meets West, it will be very intensive and wonderful to be included with your Channel but you have SO MUCH to catch up on so much emotion, feeling of wretchedness and inadequacy. I am feeling for you already. Like the new Baseball cap but why hide your beautiful head of hair??!!!! Have a great weekend it will be probable that when not on your show you'll be gaming!!!! ❤😊❤😊❤ xxx
I totally second your suggestion! 😀 As always, I really enjoyed your reaction. 🙂 I feel Geoff (he didn't want to do this song...) tried to "save as much humanity as possible" in Frollo... At least until the other man comes to say that "the Gipsy has escaped". There is when Frollo loses it all and reveals himself for the dark, hideous villain he is. 🙂 I don't remember seeing you react to their last couple other videos... "Creep", "Drunken sailor", and "Whiskey in the jar". Three songs that are very different from one another. 🙂 Anyway, of course you don't have to cover all of them! 😉😅 Thank you for bringing them back, and see you next time!
And here's a gazillion dollars...lol. Love your reactions to Voiceplay. Did you do Drunken Sailor yet? Or Whiskey in a Jar? Both phenomenal, as usual. :)
um, it's *I can't make you love me* but I shouldn't nitpick, I couldn't think of the name of the song "ding dong" and referred to it as Hide and Seek in someone's comments!
"no-ter dame" is the U.S. university and their football team. "no-treh dahm" is the Paris cathedral, so that's the pronunciation here. Or sound like a silly American. (born and raised in Los Angeles)
Wou please do a reaction video to Geoff's new solo cover of Jack's Lament ? It is from The Nightmare Before Christmas. He is Jack Skeleton the Pumpkin King . His acting skills are just as awesome as his singing.
Disney owns the IP for this. They have had Voiceplay preform live for them at events, but never a tour. I bet it would be amazing, but all the guys expressed liking that they make enough on TH-cam to not have to tour and getting to spend time with families
And especially since Eli and his wife are expecting a baby this month or so.And Omar's (who is singing with them tonight with Chicago) child is not yet a year old yet.
Hi. I hate to be this guy but... "Notre Dame de Paris" you are referencing with your parent is a theater-musical played by a theater troup on stage. It was very successfull and it's based on the same original story (from the Victor Hugo book "Notre Dame de Paris"). This song, on the other hand, is based on the Disney movie "The Hunchback of Notre Dame" (or "Le Bossu de Notre-Dame" for its french title), also (loosely) based on Victor Hugo book.
The thing is that the music and their voices are so incredibly beautiful but the lyrics are so awful so i cant quite go to sleep mode anyway. It’s a great cover, and Geoff acts perfectly as the horrible Frollo!
Please don't feel you have to change the original title to an American pronuciation. The cathedral is French, after all. The US college is pronounced one way, the French cathedral, another way.
I just dont get it. These types of groups just seem boring. Kind of modern day barbershop quartets. I dont knock people at all for liking, or even loving this. Just not for me. I still enjoy all your reactions.
I like a lot of their stuff, but these last few have been missing something. This one is desperately missing the intensity of Jonathan Young's or Colm McGuinness's version
I personaly like It, it's a bit less powerfull compared to other versions for sure, but as an overall vibe It fits the song i think it's more theatrical. But i lean toward a more rock/aggressive version tbh..still a great version from them but not my favorite if i must pick one.
I was always a fan of rock/metal music, but then I found VoicePlay💙 still can't enjoy other a capella groups that much, but VP managed to win my heart!!
I have missed your Voiceplay/Geoff reactions, I'm so glad you are here!! I never heard the song, never saw the movie, and of course it didn't matter. I was mesmerized by this as soon as it was released on Patreon, I've been binge watching it ever since.

Can't wait for your next one!!!

Totally agree, Ilona! So glad he was persuaded to do it, this was stunning! 😊
They are going to be LIVE this weekend in Atlantic City - opening for Chicago, the rock band. How I wish I could've gone to see that.
Me to
Actually, they are singing WITH Chicago. And yes - I, too wish I could have gone. At least the show is being taped and should eventually be available for viewing.
Yes. They're singing alongside Chicago tonight and tomorrow night.
Thank you so much for another priceless reaction to Voice Play. It is always a pleasure watching your reactions to Geoff & Voice Play. It's great to have you

Bass daddy geoff makes the best frollo 😂💜💜 so good to see you back to some vp and geoff! 😊

I felt disconnected from reality when the song ended. Almost as if I had to wake up when it finished. Completely mesmerising.

Oh thank goodness you did not stop reacting to VoicePlay and Geoff Castellucci videos. I have missed watching you!
I always love your reactions to Voiceplay and Geoff! Love you!
Always enjoy your VoicePlay/Geoff reactions! Can't wait to see the next one!

I was so afraid you had some reason for not wanting to listen to Voiceplay again. Thank you for coming back to them. I really enjoy your reactions!

I would pay to listen to them sing an old phone book. White or Yellow pages. Take my money. 🤣
FINALLY :D... sooo good , love your reaction 🤘
now we need you to do Geoffs version of jacks Lament :D ..
Welcome back to Voiceplay. I've missed your reactions to them and Geoff. Looking forward to more.
"Drunken Sailor' (Voiceplay) and "Jack's Lament "(Geoff ) should be your next ones.
Jack's Lament is exceptional

Glad to see you back to VoicePlay. But I hear music with you that I wouldn’t hear otherwise. VoicePlay is my favorite tho
The VoicePlay train has arrived again. Excellent!
Cracked me up when you said, "Noter Dame" with an American accent.
I missed you guys doing Voiceplay/ Geoff :) Thanks for a reaction. I love this song!
Wonderful reaction, Boudy. Always a treat.
Glad you're back to Voiceplay! 🙂
If you want to try something new, listen to Dan Vasc - he's great!
Glad to see you back to Voiceplay , I enjoyed your reaction.

Finally back to Voiceplay ❤❤❤❤❤
Watch Geoff's cover of Jack's Lament from Nightmare before Christmas. Ya gotta!
Jack’s lament by Geoff should be next!
Loved your reaction- thanks!
So glad youre back! VoicePlay +you is a great day!!
I totally second your suggestion! 😀

Brilliant! It’s so shivery.
Geoff resisted doing this song for a long time. I guess they finally convinced him to do it and he threw himself into the performence.
Lowest Geoff note (so far) was a sustained B0 in Valhalla Calling.
5:48 Excellent idea! World tour, 5+ shows per city, sign me up! Thank you, IP owner, for the gazillion dollars. We appreciate it!
And here's a gazillion dollars...lol. Love your reactions to Voiceplay. Did you do Drunken Sailor yet? Or Whiskey in a Jar? Both phenomenal, as usual. :)
Been waiting for your reaction to this.. 😂
I love your energy so much! It's so contagious and you keep making me laugh 😂
Great reaction. You should check out Faouzia "Tears of gold" stripped. She is a Canadian/Moroccan, singer/song writer with an amazing voice,
Great reaction!
It’s also a bit late for this, but I wish you’d react to Marwan Ayman’s This is Halloween in 30 styles. I guarantee you’ll love it.
The IP is probably held by Disney, .. and VP worked for Disney .. guess thats why they cover so many disney songs ;)
If nobody has requested it yet you NEED to check out Voiceplay's "You Can't Make Me Love You"
um, it's *I can't make you love me* but I shouldn't nitpick, I couldn't think of the name of the song "ding dong" and referred to it as Hide and Seek in someone's comments!

NODER DAYM, as you put it, is the American university.
The Hunchback Of Notre Dame is set in Notre Dame Cathedral in Paris.
Big difference. 😉
At last! There you are.

"Le bossus de notre-dame" in french
Could there be a more delishiously evil villan's voice?
❤

Watch their videos for “Moana,” “The Little Mermaid,” & “We Don’t Talk About Bruno.”
Where is Arabian nights!? From Bass gang?
The best version I've seen of this song is still Caleb hyles - who sings it so holistically it's mesmerising.

Arab Man, I love your reactions to this group. You really need to do more. They cover so many Genres that you haven't checked out yet.
It was D1 subharmonics
