I heard this song In high school maybe 12 years ago at this point. Man, does time fly…. I have been searching for this song for the last 5-6 years. Today, I rekindled a love I thought I’d never find again. To be honest, friends, I nearly shed a tear. I needed this today. I hope everyone is living beautifully. I love you all. Don’t let the bitterness of this world bring you down.
I found this after about 15 years now... And damn all the tears and emotions just burst. I used to listen to this daily back then. And the other one- the liar. Damn... ❤❤❤
🇿🇼 🇬🇧 Tinashe Fazakerley now professionally known as Rationale, is a Zimbabwe born British singer and songwriter, formerly known as Tinashé. That's why we couldn't find him on Spotify etc🙂. Let's ask Rationale to share this beautiful song - Zambezi, everyone needs to hear this! ❤
Literally been 10 years and I still find myself coming back to this. I’m in a bad place right now and this is helping me allot! I was in high school when I first came across this and im 28 now and it still sound so new!
It gets better, it always will. Just stop, listen, and look outside and within to find your solution to your problems. It's never at the handle or barrel of a gun. That's all I can tell you. May Hashem bring you comfort and peace.
My favorite part is when he smiles at 1:55, on "you're the one", like he's remembering some stupid moment or inside joke that only the other would get, and realizing that stupid moments like that are the best ones because you love the moment not for any external reason but simply because you're with the one you love, and that "you're the one" is never more profound than in those moments.
It was clear on the first listening that this was spectacular. By the eighth listening, it was clear that this was one of the truest, most bittersweet love songs ever written.
Anyone 2019 plus why is this so beautiful it makes me wanna cry where are u dude if u see this come back please dude u are the best probably impressing your family omg i wanted to not cry but i wanted to cry at the same time this guy has a beautiful voice keep up the great job have a wonderful and an amazing day :D
A blind busker plays the mbira in Toronto's subway stations, and he is absolutely amazing. Once after work I watched and listened for 10 minutes and it completely made the bullshit day disappear. this is a sweet instrument and song!
I started shedding tears halfway into the song, didn't quite know why, as the text was rather upbeat but something clashed. And then I understood why that wasn't just a beautiful love song.
Weird when you keep revisiting a song for so long that you can’t remember how you found it! Can’t remember how I came across this, but so glad I did. Raw beauty
I came back to revisit this lovely song sung to a Kalimba (or variation thereof) I can't help thinking that the trees and birds and the bees and other critters enjoyed this as much as I do.
i am such a different person than i was when i first began listening to this song. Listening to this now makes so many memories flood back. Such a great artist and talent.
Your mbira songs outdoors (instead of in your home studio) are waaaaaay more aesthetically pleasing, much easier to sink into the vibrations. Thank you for this gorgeous, gorgeous video. It's kept me loving you for many months now... God bless on your unfolding musical path!
There's 30 people who "disliked" who have been listening to overly produced, overly auto-tuned vocals of contemporary culture, and can't appreciate the simplicity of real music that has been sung on any continent for thousands of years. Thank you for this beautiful music with a single vocal and thumb piano with no technology tricks. It's music of the soul with a simple melody and simple accompaniment. Blessings to you!
I'm randomly at this video now while browsing through old past likes. I have no idea how I found it originally... But if Day[9] linked it at some point, that probably explains it.
I love both versions of this song but there is something about the simplicity of the video and instruments used that really compliments the moving lyrics and your amazing voice. You deserve far more views for this beautiful piece of art :)
Oh my. I just saw a Facebook post about this instrument and I wanted to see how it sounds. Then I got to reading about how it has been haunting them for years in a good way. Now it will haunt me in a good way. His voice is incredible!
Just magnificent...so many wild array of instruments and sounds out there, but it's really incredible how such a profoundly simple arrangement can be so profoundly gorgeous. "Less is more" so so much here.
Omfg I used to listen to this in 6th grade and now I’m a freshman in college making music and I looked this up and got the visdeo first try let’s go finna make a song to this beat ngl…
This song is so beautiful, I started crying the first time I heard it. My teacher showed us this video in class, I love the whole video. I don't know if the original sounds like this but this song is easily one of the best I"ve ever heard.
Very beautiful !!! the instrument is a Kalimba. I have one, but need to practice a lot :) beautifully sung and played !! Thanks so much..Greets from Germany..
***** The western model you own is most likely a kalimba, as that is the one that has been mass produced. The difference is one is ethnic and the other was created by a westerner. A Mbira is the more ethnic version, which doesn't look like the generic box model that the kalimba has. Mbira usually have a different tuning than the kalimba which is in the key of G. Traditional Mbiras also have either bottle caps, beads, or shells attached to the soundboard to give the overtones more depth and context, which is an essential aspect to the Mbira. So yeah you probably own a kalimba, as they are slightly different, but of the same family of instruments.
I’ve been coming back to this song every so often for almost a decade. Where are you sir? You stir my soul. Thank you.
So i looked him up, and he is now a professional artist by the name of Rationale

Genius gets thrown out a lot nowadays. Rationale/Tinashe is the real deal. A once in a generation talent. Prince would be proud.

This will be my first dance at my wedding 🥰 me and my partner have been listening to this for the last 7 years together ❤
It was clear on the first listening that this was spectacular. By the eighth listening, it was clear that this was one of the truest, most bittersweet love songs ever written.
Eleven years later, I'm still in love with this song!!!

This is probably the most beautiful song I've ever heard. I really want to give him a hug.
The sound, the story, the gift, Artistry... Thank you. I Dont know where you are right now, but this is a powerful piece.

Same here. Coming back every now and then over a decade. And so grateful you put so much into a simple song.

This song has been in my head for days. I love love love it
I think a lot of people like the mbira version due to the calmness of it and the angelicness of it.
Oh my. I just saw a Facebook post about this instrument and I wanted to see how it sounds. Then I got to reading about how it has been haunting them for years in a good way. Now it will haunt me in a good way. His voice is incredible!

Brillliant everyone of your songs I've heard are quality! That instrument is awesome!
Very beautiful !!! the instrument is a Kalimba. I have one, but need to practice a lot :) beautifully sung and played !! Thanks so much..Greets from Germany..
he calls it a "Mbira" is there a difference between that and what you call it?
No the instrument is called a mbira named after Zimbabwe's rock rabbit
***** My understanding is that the mbira is a family of instrumentes, which does include the kalimba.
Sharmy F Sorry, I correct me, it's a mbira, and not a kalimba :)
***** The western model you own is most likely a kalimba, as that is the one that has been mass produced. The difference is one is ethnic and the other was created by a westerner.
