I love the engineering involved with this. The combining shields and guns are well done. From that standpoint alone I'm half-tempted to pick up this figure (3×)
I love to imagine these guys as the Decepticons' grunts that can be killed and no one, not even the Autobots, would bat an eye. Mostly because their simple design gives the idea that they are mass-produced and not really "alive" so to say, meaning they would talk and act like the Kraang bots in the 3D animated TMNT show on Nick.

Sure there's an impressive amount of 3rd party variants out there (came close to buying one in 2017) but I was always convinced that Hasbro would give us an official set!!! And yeah it took a really really long time but the wait worth it!!! He's one of the most underrated but popular SIEGE-line mods out there!!! I have the original G1 set as well (paid with a limb) so there's no real need for me to get that toy accurate set unless it came at a decent price!! Great trio!!!

These new Transformers are so awesome. I grew up in the 80's as well, and Transformers was my favorite show, until Ninja Turtles. But man, what I would give to be a kid today, growing up with these perfect figures!
I got the G1 toy colored pack and yeah the added accesories makes the camera mode look better (but have nowhere to store in hovercraft mode apart from the flash) and i can't stop playing with them in camera mode (i'm not a kid and yet here i am playing with toy camera made out of three exact same bots)

Great classic square body mode; intriguing (but incomplete) sort of armed space tug mode; thanks to Baltmatrix, a neat fan cannon mode; and the mode that drew me in, the Perceptor-inspired 3-D printer mode... (Last mode inspired by a reddit member called MechaGrotto) Don’t know if I’m gonna get two more yet...I love photography, but I already have a transformer with a camera mode around here somewhere... ...and it also helped that the big box store I visited employed someone who went crazy with the clearance labels!
I'll wait for the Recon Team to be available on Amazon, as much as I wanted Refraktor. Saves me the chance of buying three copies just for the camera. I also like to point out that flipping the center bot's feet up in camera fills the gap of the missing top section of retail Refraktor, which again is present in the recon team.
There’s a ton you can do with these. You can give one guy the other two to have massive arms. You can make them into a fist. And probably quite a bit more

i don't mind paying 20 bucks to get a duocon that has a combined, vehicle, and separate robot modes. however, i'm not spending 60 bucks on the same toy, just to get a decent camera mode.
That’s how the character was in the 80s. He was originally three different robots in different colors that combined to form a camera. In the cartoon, they were three identical robots which combined to form a camera which is what Siege was going for.
There's a camera fan mode which you can transform him into a square like Soundwave. Fold the skis to fill in the center of the camera where the shutter is. Then put his gun and it makes a good flash. It is a good alternative. If one wants just one.

On the other hand, box set might cost $69 (like that one with Decepticon Impactor, Holo Mirage and Powerdasher Aragon - btw, it's hilarious how the last one is packed in the box), so getting three of this one still will be cheaper option (and it seems box set will include a lot of partsforming which is unacceptable fore some TF fans). By the way -> "he's only hollow in the forearms, the shins and part of his back" - is it ok that my sarcasm detector is beeping? PS, the word "refractor" actually exists, it's general term for substances which, well, refract the light or synonym for the "telescope".
Overall I LOVE the toy. I do want some upgrade gap fillers or something. But how do you lose the rights to the name Reflector? LOL. Who the heck else is gonna even use it. Just go with Camera Man or Photo Man or some own it sort of name. LOL
jzachery they never copyrighted it in the first place. Reflector was never given a wide release because they thought that kids wouldn’t find a toy that turned into a non-functioning camera fun. It was only released as a promotional item for the movie.

Yep. shockwave for example. His gun mode in original G1 toy is already look like a spaceship.....with a pistol grip
Kinda remind me of Sixshot (Titan Return) has submarine mode...which is just an upside down gun mode. Dunno why Hasbro has to do that

I've been waiting for such a long time on a Generations Deluxe Class Reflector, and this guy lived up to all my expectations. Well worth the hype.

i think the Cybertronian vehicle modes for the Decepticons are based on space age Star Wars styled military vehicles.
I had gotten two. I was gonna get a 3rd until I heard about the 3 pack repaint. Definitely a cool figure.
