I’m glad how in every continuity, besides the Shatter Glass one, Alpha Trion is depicted as a wise, good leader trying to help the heroes and willing to give his own Spark for the cause without question.

I'll be honest, while it did have some problems in execution, I still like the Aligned Continuity's take on the characters, Trion included.

I really like the aligned continuity, fantastic and memorable games,informative books dripping with lore that are extremely entertaining, and a fucking ICONIC and TIMLESS TV show in Transformers Prime, so although with its flaws I think it's very well rounded...aside from RID...we just pretend that dosent exist 🤠
I liked the idea of the aligned continuity cuz it was the "Star Wars EU" of the Transformers. I like they established central lore for the universe but once again when Hasbro has something good on their hands, they find a way to sabotage it.

When I was little I always thought Alpha Trion transformed into a giant gun like Shockwave did. I came to that conclusion because his legs had the same shape Megatron and Shockwaves legs had. I imagined he even transformed like Shockwave and the cape/wings were the barrel of the weapon. In my mind him being a giant gun made him very different and special among the good guys.
I've always assumed that Alpha Trion has transformed into the same alt mode as Scourge, due to their (almost) similar appearance.

I couldn't remember if it was him or Leonard Nimoy, but now that I think about it, Nimoy would've been a perfect Alpha Trion

Good ol' Alpha 'Primes daddy' Trion! A great and wise being to give hope, guidance, and knowledge when needed. Definately a great and beloved character to the Cybertronian Mythos.
Alpha trion is one of my favorets though im not too keen on his recent habbit of being dead.

Ah yes, the wise old mentor figure. Full of much wisdom and knowledge to help guide the younger characters. This always an awesome archetype. And Alpha Trion fills the roll well.
It's good that as this franchise has evolved, Alpha Trion has stuck around and given something interesting to the mythology of it. As always Chris, very good episode.
This is good timing, I run a Transformers table top RPG for my friends and I was planning on introducing Alpha Trion. I always enjoy hearing more and I’ve learned a lot from this series
It be nice to see Alpha Trion get a bigger role in a future TF project.
I think a good alternate mode for Alpha Trion would be a Cybertronian Satelite with thrusters and space travel capabilities. But he could also have a third mode and transform into a robotic Shishi.
Looking at Alpha Trion’s design here it’s become super obvious to me that Sentinel Prime from Dark of the Moon was probably meant to be him. I know in the concept art Sentinel was at one point labeled as Ultra Magnus. So maybe they designed him based off of Alpha Trion and then just cycled through names before landing on Sentinel Prime?
One thing I wished the Original Show would have is Alpha Trion fighting Decepticons.. I'm thinking that he would come off like Mr. Miaygi..the ultimate badass of Transformers.

Sentinel Prime's design in DOTM was heavily based off of Alpha Trion
It's my personal theory - given the film's depiction of Sentinel as Optimus's mentor - that the character might have been conceived as Alpha Trion, but that Hasbro decided they didn't want to use the name on a character who turned out to be a baddie, given the big push for unified cross-media lore that was happening at the time. So they went with a Prime who had a history of being a jerk instead.

@@basedpota That's certainly the name on his concept art sheet, but you can't trust those, they used placeholder terms and misinformation. Shockwave's art was labelled "Blitzwing," and it was obviously only ever designed to be Shockwave.

I have been fascinated by this character since he first appeared in the G1 cartoon. I have always wanted a good quality representation of him in toy form. Hopefully, we can get a figure in scale with the wfc figures. This was a very thorough look at a very interesting part of Transformers lore. Great job, as always . 👍🏻

You should do the basics on the movies. The comment section alone should be every entertaining.
Im guessing it would be a battlefield between one end of the extreme (geewuners who dislike the movies for trivial reasons) and the other end of the extreme (Bay fans who worship these films and are unable to see the flaws) with the rational people generally staying quiet.
So basically, any comment section of a video on a large entertainment franchise.
@@SirBroccolingtonIII I'm pretty sure most transformers fans who don't like the movies aren't gEeWuNnErS. I grew up with these and the UT and I greatly dislike the movies outside the first one and the action scenes.

I never said that everyone who dislikes these movies are geewuners. They are actually a minority in the fanbase. However, they are the most vocal. Despite them being smaller in numbers than most other fans, they tend to voice their opinions more aggressively and frequently, and dislike things solely because it isn't g1. I'm sorry if I ended up offending anyone by grouping them into this part of the Fandom, and I assure you that this was not my intention. Basically, what I meant was that the comment section would be filled with the more extreme fans, unlike people like you and me.
@@SirBroccolingtonIII Yeah I can see that. I hope to that with WFC basically giving *the* definitive updates to the G1 characters I hope Hasbro can move on to new takes or revisit old ones like the UT or Animated.
Plus reading all the comments between extreme G1/Bay fans and everyone in between will certainly be entertaining.
@@grand_max66 IDW tends to be _severely_ underrated by the Fandom too, also falling victim to being demonised for trivial reasons. Either way, I really wish new, creative takes on the characters could be invented.
And yes, reading arguments between people who are clearly never going to agree with each other under any circumstances and then making up counters to their arguments in my head is one of my favourite pastimes.

Before Orion Pax became Optimus Prime, it wouldn't surprise me if Alpha Trion was secretly training Optimus to replace him at some point. If the aligned continuity still holds that Orion was a data clerk with AT as his mentor
I mean the aligned continuity is over But they're probably gonna keep The Story for everything up to The creation of Orion packs now probably
Optimus as a chose one is a mistake. His leadership should come from merit.

Alpha Trion is the infinitely wise and enigmatic mentor of the Transformers.
Chris McFeely is our Alpha Trion.
Mentor/creator of Optimus Prime, wisest of the entire Cybertronian race, and one of the last remaining and longest living of the thirteen Primes (Next to Alchemist Prime).
And also Liege Maximo, depending on which continuity you're thinking of.
Out of all the different cartoon series of the Transformers Alpha Trion hasn't really changed his appearance much, and has kept his G1 body
I always liked Alpha Trion, though the time loop with the Aerialbots saving Orion Pax who as Optimus Prime would create them does give me a headache from time to time. I never questioned the fact that he didn't transform, especially after it was revealed that he was one of the first generation of Cybertronians from Vector Sigma, and two separate episodes stated that it was not until after the Quintessons had been driven from Cybertron that the ability to transform was developed.
I would like to see some explanation about why DotM's Sentinel Prime was based, or at least looks like, Alpha Trion.
Since the character of Cheetor has been depicted as rising from young gun cub to spiritual guardian, and a comic showed him growing up into the sage Alpha Trizer, named and colored after Alpha Trion.
I still think a video on the causes of the Great War would be cool

One of my favs of the Transformers that were on Cybertron during the original series. I would of loved to have seen an alt. mode for him in G1. He could of been a mold based off Scourge with Trion's head and a modification to Scourge's wings making the metal cape he had.

I often refer to him as the Autobot’s grandpa. He a wise but eccentric grandpa.
My Transformers OC, Stormchaser, views Alpha Trion as a "grandfather" figure and treats him with a healthy amount of respect. In fact, whenever the old historian walks into that Stormchaser is in, she'll immediately jump to her feet and do a Japanese-style bow to him as a sign of respect.
When do you think we'll finally get Ian McKellen to voice him in a series?
Worth mentioning that alpha trion was a code name (or was originally considered as a name) for what became Sentinel Prime in Dark of the Moon.

The Titans Return figure is one of my most beloved, having been able to hunt down one in-box in *2023* , and only knowing of its existence due to this video.
One of. Not *THE* . The Crown Jewel in my collection is the original Beast Wars Silverbolt, found in a pawn shop with both feathers included.

He died, according to Hasbro. Fans speculate he was rebuilt into either Ironhide or Ultra Magnus.

Looking at it now, they definitley tried to make Sentinal Prime from Transformers Dark of the Moon look like Alpha Trion.
This lesson could be counted bit of historical due Alpha Trion's legacy. Even dig up my POTP Prime Master Alpha Trion with Landmine Decoy Armor with is my only Alpha Trion toy I have ever been able to get hold of.
I love Alpha Trion :3 Whatever he's in, however long he's in there, he's largely the same and always a joy to see. Best old man in the TF franchise, ever

The TR Alpha Trion was one of the first G1 style figures I ever got
Is it just me, or is live action Sentinel's design evocative of Alpha Trion ? The facial hair, spiky shoulders, a similar shade of red, and they even both have capes that look like they're covered in vents.
Alpha Trion sacrificed himself for the creation of the Aerialbots for Optimus Prime's cause.
Then the Arialbots traveled back to the past and brought fatally wounded Orion Pax to Alpha Trion and let him rebuild Oiron into Optimus Prime.
Then Superion saved young Alpha Trion traveling from the past, so he could survive and meet the Aerialbots and rebuild Orion Pax, so the Aerialbots could be created...
This is a very interesting loop in G1 cartoon🤔.
No wonder why Alpha Trion is willing to sacrifice himself for the creation of the Aerialbots...

Alpha Trion is an underrated character
I only just questioned to myself recently , whether if Alpha Trion knew that he would meet the Aerial Bots in the past before sacrificing himself to bring them to life using Vector Sigma ?
I know the Old Vector Sigma never lived long enough to see their robot forms , even though helped build the Earth Plane modes.
And the young Vector Sigma only saw the Robot modes and not the jet forms.
I'd like to think he instinctly knew , even subconsciously before he made his decision , since he might somehow share his life force with them after activating the key.

Alpha Trion was intended to be in Transformers: Dark of the Moon, but his role in the movie was instead given to Sentinel Prime.
Winged BluJ i''m glad it wasn't him, Sentinel was intended to be the main villain in the fourth season of Animated before it was canceled so I guess that idea carried into DOTM.

Please do a The Basics On Huffer. He was my very first G1 Transformer I got as a kid (my uncle bought him for me) so he's always been my favorite. He's more of an underutilized and complex character than realized.

I really want alpha trion to hit the big screen and there should be a detailed history of who they were and how optimus became the last prime when he got the matrix from the so called 'the one'.
