Nice Video...! We climbed in Sultan Basin and Monte Cristo during the 1960's and 70's.
The lake is Foggy Lake, under Gothic Peak to the SW, easily scrambled up!
The large mountain to the north is Del Campo, a rigorous climb...! Between them is Foggy Pass, the beginning of a steep ravine, Kelly Creek, going down into the Sultan Basin.. The sharp pointy peak to the south is Sheep Gap Mountain and Sheep Haven, (one of the prettiest locations I saw in my years in the Cascade Mtns)..!
We worked at several mines in the Sultan Basin during the 1960's and 1970's, (that is when we were not hunting or fishing all over the Basin)...! BrenMac is close to Kelly Creek, The Sultan Queen is south of Crested Buttes, the Kromona Mine on the south fork of Sultan River.
In February of 1968, Reito Schmidt guided me up Kelly Creek, across Foggy Lake, (On top of eight feet of snowpack), then down the cliffs, (covered in deep wet snow) to the Sultan River...! It was an amazing trip!
Your video is very-well done and I enjoy the pics of my old "stomping grounds"...!
Recommend Vesper Peak, (the Sunrise Mine Trail), when you get up to Headlee Pass be on the lookout for Ptarmigan, they are just like the ones we had in Alaska -- they live with the mountain goats at Headlee and over to Vesper Creek headwaters. Regards.....

Fascinating! Thank you so much for sharing. The history in this area is so rich. We tried to check out the Mackinaw mine but the water was too high on the Sauk River and it was raining buckets. Looks like I have some exploring to do next time I’m back!

Hi, just wondering do you wear sunscreen?

Yes I do. I do make sure to wipe it off prior to going swimming, then re-apply once I'm out. Hope that answers your question!
