Hey guys, thanks for checking out these iconic John Petrucci riffs with me. What was up with the green frames on my transitions?! Did TH-cam try to momentarily pass my video thru the matrix?! 😂
I watched you play 10 seconds of the first piece and immediately set all my gear on fire and applied to a monastery where I can hide in my failure forever. Jeesh Andy that’s incredible, well done man!
I was a big Petrucci and Dream Theater fan as a teenager. Still today, I think Petrucci is one of the best at writing great guitar solos, from melodic and hooky solos to full-blown, but still interesting shredfest. He might not be the best, and the most interesting improvisator, but his influence on today's guitar community is huge.
John’s legacy, along with his amazing catalog of music, will be the legions of guitar players he’s inspired, including bona fide guitar “God”s like Andy.
ANOTHER HONORABLE MENTION!! ...And Petrucci's greatest solo ever - *The Spirit Carries On!* Unreal, major scale, feel, hooks, tone, passion etc. Check it out! Also my buddy G used to say Petrucci's guitar tone on Train of Thought was "dryer than Papaws elbows"! LOL
Talking signature models I always chuckle when there's a new Les Paul, whoever's signature model release, as the 'Les Paul' is already a signature model for.........Les Paul, would you believe, so hands down the most successful signature guitar ever made surely
Haha! Many similarites, man! :) When you introduced In The Name of God, I would've BET, you're gonna play that Cm unison legato part!!! Bummer! :D But thanks for the reminder. I could play that. But I've somehow forgotten it over the last years... -.- But... it's just a FORGOTTEN SECRET! ;-P Cheers!
well hey there Andy dude!! I know you can't answer every comment........but man dude........ you are one of a select few that I KNOW gets it. Just if I ask about a certain tone from let's say .........a DIEZEL? I've been thinking about their PAUL amp you actually tried at NAMM? I believe it was NAMM......anyway I like to get the straight forward tones that honestly you achieve and desire pretty much like most of us shred meets everything in between dudes. I ask mainly because I've never played any DIEZEL amp but know they are their own thing. Thank you if you get to this Andy, and BLESS YOU BRO!!!!!!
Everyone who reads this, we don't know each other and probably never will but I wish you all the best in life and all the luck in the world 🤍🤍 🍀🍀 ❤️ ❤️

I’ve always loved the opening to About to Crash (Reprise).

Man your right hand seems so relaxed. Looks effortless even though I know you've put in a ton of time on it. Thanks for the inspiration.
John would be proud Andy. To say you’re a great player would be an understatement. Well done!
I'm a simple man. I hear the "Universal Mind" opening riff, I hit like.
His outro solo to Innocence Faded with it’s build is my personal favorite. Love your content Andy!!
The glass prison arps…nightmares, just nightmares.
Fantastic breakdown and playing of JP's stuff! Picked some great deep cuts too. You being on the Guitar Universe roster is well deserved.
John’s legacy, along with his amazing catalog of music, will be the legions of guitar players he’s inspired, including bona fide guitar “God”s like Andy.
You always inspire me Andy - thanks for being awesome.
Cool video Andy thinks for sharing your favorites
I have been watching JP since DT played the Cathouse in Glasgow in the early 90's. You have those parts nailed. Well done sir.
Wow..simply amazing..love it!🤩😍
That was great...nice to see you again Andy.
wonderful vid Andy as always! your passion for music shines man
Love all these riffs, and at one time they have all been my #1. Right now I really love As I Am from Train Of Thought.
A fantastic cut!!
That Petrucci - Rudess record was shown to me by another DT fan... that I had just met in a DT concert at the end of 2019. I miss that stuff 😔
Saw Vh as a kid several times..seen Dream Theater around 10 times as an adult..love your channel..cool stuff
Great stuff! Looking forward to meeting you and all the other legends at JPGU (and to learning more things I’m incapable of playing 😂)!

JP Is from another planet!
Your awesome, dig your point of view
His latest solo cd is so freaking great!
Andy is as awesome as he wants to be.
🍻
the 24p cant keep up with the picking! we need 120fps for the Woodch!
Thanks Andy! Wish I was in Anaheim...
“Face meat” 😂😂😂😂😂
Glasgow Kiss also has a Steve Morse feel. Knowing Steve is one of John's biggest influences it's no surprise.
My favorite DT song is still Panic Attack from Octavarium
Fucking great man, just fucking great...!!!!!!!!!!!!!
CHEERS.
You sounded like Tony Rice for a moment there, really cool
First time i heard andy and he is such a great guitar player, just fantastic!

Octavarium solo for me on Score
Nobody mentioning "The Astonishing" ... ? 😉 It's still just too much music for me to process but I know DT albums often need years to grow on me 😃

Cheers my dude!!! I absolutely love diezel amps!! They have an aggression that’s tough to match and they always sound great in a big mix!
@@andywoodmusic dig it man! I totally thank you for that info Andy. It's good to see the channel doin well brother. Bless you and rock on!
As if playing that stuff isn't hard enough. You had to alternate pick everything to add insult to injury. :) :)
😁🍻
Heh. Metal in a JC shirt. Good stuff.
Dats right

Why come you gotta keep giving me more reasons to hate yer guts!? So good!
And who are the two haters who gave this a thumbs down!? That's just jealousness... Shame on them!
Check out Ytze Jam
Nice Dave Chappelle reference.
He’s my favorite
First of all, you’re shredding on a tele. That’s bad ass. Second, I’m gonna go listen to some DT now bye 👋🏼
