Regardless of what uniform he wears he shows his respect for it in his every action. He is the absolutely perfect example of what a military man should be in a situation like this. Much respect to him.
As a British veteran he is a Royal Marines officer. He also has his parachute wings on his right shoulder.
Full RESPECT SIR thank you thank you
PJI wings…
Handsome and friendly man wherever he’s from
He’s not from anywhere he is a Royal Marine
Commando Green Beret, and Lovat Uniform - he is a Royal Marine Officer..........⚓️ !!!
THANK YOU VERY MUCH for that information. All the best to you and yours!

@@IRISHSALTMINER61 WAY COOL! thanks for the information! All the best to you and yours! ps LOVE your youtube name, i had to go to you first!
Thanks I did think I’d slipped into anotherUniverse there trying to remember what NZ regiment he could belong to that wore the same uniform as the Brits.
This 'new Zealander ' officer is wearing the uniform , lovats , of the British Royal Marines and the green commando beret !
He is a lieutenant colonel.
The "kiwi" is a Royal Marine as can be seen by the Globe and Laurel cap badge
@@jamesplant9299
Exactly . The Royal Marines Badge is the Only Badge with Two Crowns👍🏻
The respect that this solider showed to the family and their little one was excellent.
Always love seeing our vets get the respect they deserve across the globe.
Australian and New Zealand soldiers have been in the UK training Ukraine soldiers for some time, but that's rarely mentioned in the press! It's good to see they receive some respect, occasionally! They were among the guard for the King's Coronation! 👍🇦🇺🙋
We love our Aussie and Kiwi brothers and sisters in arms, so far apart but still family.
The Paras are training several thousand a month, worth noting.

🇦🇺🇳🇿respect To all the armed forces 🇬🇧🇳🇿🇦🇺🥝👍🏾
RESPECT to Our Australian 🇦🇺 New Zealand 🇳🇿 Armed Forces As a Kiwi 🥝 I am PROUD of Both Countries 🇳🇿🇦🇺💯
Very proud of this man ( if he is Kiwi or Aussie or even a Brit ) it really doesn't matter, we're always on the same side...So proud !
Every serving soldier deserves the utmost respect no matter the country.
A true man ! ...Just wonderful who we ALL should be !
The Kiwi officer is a tourist attraction in his own right.
He is a Royal Marines Lt Col
He’s very tall …
New Zealanders .. our cousins … certainly my cousin from Northern Ireland is there … lovely, pleasant, charming chap …… best of the best New Zealanders.
Having the time of their lives … and rightly so … feel these blokes should have an open invitation to st James’ palace … they always dig us out of a hole … as we do for the Americans …
Thank you ANZAC vets.
Not a Kiwi officer, uniform looks more a Royal Marine uniform
Nope, not NZ.
@@jimrolfe552 Yeah Kiwi's sort of stand out with their black and white shoulder patch that says "NEW ZEALAND"
He can be from NZ and be in the royal marines nothing stopping him and all the other veterans that were there from NZ
All those former Royals wore the green lid of the Royal Marines, yes they could have been from New Zealand, but they were Royal Marines, we had a lad from Australia in my squad in 1966. I k ow he now is living back in Oz
That's what is known as "4 O'Clock Inspection , Punishment Parade. Informally known as the Punishment Parade, the tradition of the 4 o’clock inspection began in 1894. Queen Victoria arrived at Horse Guards, expecting to find the Household Cavalry ready and waiting to escort her back to Buckingham Palace, only to find the guards either asleep, drunk or gambling on the job! Deeply unamused by this, Victoria commanded that for the next 100 years, the guards be inspected every day at 4pm to ensure they were taking their duties seriously (hardly surprising she would wish that, given by 1894, there had been seven attempts on Victoria’s life). The century of punishment technically ended in 1994, but Queen Elizabeth II ordered the Household Cavalry to carry it on indefinitely as a regimental tradition, one that continues to this day.
interesting
princess with an very smart officer . lovely
Believe me. This soldier is a British Lieutenant Colonel Royal Marine commando. Green beret, RM Globe and Laurel cap, collar and Lovat tunic buttons. Medals and lanyard. All the true markings of a British Royal Marine. I'm unsure how anybody can confuse him with a New Zealand Marine. The veterans in the background in green berets are all British Royal Marins. The is another officer in the group but I can't make out his uniform and regiment/core I believe to be British
The New Zealand Defence Force do NOT have Marines. New Zealand has the SAS. No Marines.
@@GKingstonNZ This guy isn't a Kiwi, He's a British Marine
Foreigners will *never* understand the history behind any of the regiments of the British Army, especially the Household Cavalry Mounted Regiment. BTW: He's the tallest Kiwi I've ever seen. 👍
High ranking British Royal Marines officer
He is a RM Captain, so not really that high ranking, and not a Kiwi.
@@williamtraynor-kean7214actually a Lieutenant colonel.
I can't help but notice how sharp the creases are in his trousers.
Lovely man taking time for photos and talking to tourists. He's patient, gets down to the children level he is very tall. A credit to his regiment and his country.
I noticed serving soldiers and retired soldiers in the yard. I'm thinking they are here for a memorial service on horse guards parade ground maybe? One was held recently beginning of May 2024.
Ps: I had a bit more of a think the recent memorial service was for the Marines regiment on Horse Guard they shut the gates from the Yard to the Parade ground whilst the service was still on. To many tourists use the tunnel to get to and from Buckingham Palace.
The "Eyes Right" was for the Captain of the Guard.
Great Royal Marine proud of him ❤
He's a RM Commando. You can see the Globe and Lion on his green beret and the letters RM on his shoulder epaulettes.
A man that handsome must be a Kiwi. Even if he does wear a Brit uniform and has a Manchester accent 🇬🇧 🇳🇿
He a Royal Marine officer ( British) 🇬🇧🇬🇧🇬🇧
And he’s got wings …damn
Why do people like you post on the military when you have no idea what you are looking at ? These are Royal Marines veterans with an RM colonel. Why New Zealand ?
Sadly the Royal Marines Commando uniform of Lovat Green is not readily recognisable. Mistaken often for another countries soldier
When I was in the forces years ago, there was people from all over the Commonwealth serving in the British forces. We’re all the same.
His interaction with the little girl at the beginning said it all. 🫡
British Royal Marines commandos not new Zealanders
@vickyRoyalHistory agreed expat Canadian myself and served uk forces
@vickyRoyalHistory what I'm saying is that marine in uniform at the beginning of the video is British Royal Marines. Yes we have lads from other countries serve within our armed forces. But the officer is a serving Royal Marine . I'm a British veteran myself
If you're going to post videos about the military please do the right thing and research your material
congratulations ''London today'' you have managed to get every single thing you say about this video wrong. they are not new zealanders. they are Royal marine veterans. That is not the kings guard paying respect to them. that is the normal { it happens every day } 4pm inspection and dismounting ceremony, .Please stop posting videos you obviously have no idea what you are talking about
goated comment
Mr Grumpy ...use brain before engaging mouth....he said they arent New Zealanders. Get a brain before you reel off ignorant answers
@@jackielazarus9784 engage your EYES before opening your stupid mouth. the title of the video actually says ''King's Guards Paying Respect to New Zealand Veterans'' in his own description of the video he calls them new zealand veterans. I stand by everything i say that what is happening is the NORMAL: everyday 4 pm parade no one is paying any particular respect to anyone the parade happens every day whether anyone is there or not.
I think the Royal Marine Lovats are my favourite service uniform. It just looks so cool.
Aussie, Kiwi or Brith. doesn''t matter THEY are all the King's men. God save the King
And Canadian.
1st Class. Well done!
Lovely.
It didn't seem to be anything other than the regular procedure, except that the Kiwis were standing together, and apart from the rest of the spectators. They did have their own seperate view of the horses' 'backs', though! Respect to the Kiwis, anyway - Good people.
Hard to see at times because of the subdued metal of the rank, but he's a Lieutenant colonel of the Royal Marines.
Captain Snort doing a stellar job with Sarnt Major Grout plus Hugh, Pugh, Barney McGrew, Cuthbert Dibble and Grub.
Title seems misleading as it seems to be a Royal Marines officer taking photos with the public and some sort of Royal Marines veteran gathering overlooking the changing of the guard ceremony at horse guards. I see comments saying that there isn’t a New Zealander present so the title is completely wrong, I don’t believe that’s true either. It seems that at 6:21 fourth man from the right you can see a, what looks like, gunner in the Royal Regiment of New Zealand Artillery. This can be identified by the artillery cap badge on the beret, the black and white ‘NEW ZEALAND’ shoulder titles, the unique slight colouration of the New Zealand army dress uniform from the Royal Marines officer on the left, and the lack of Sam Browne belt and pips on the shoulders meaning not an officer and the lack of chevrons on the sleeve meaning probably a private or in the case of artillery a gunner. Anyhow that’s my 2 cents worth.
And in typical fashion, all his lads took the pish when he went back to them lol. Oh he also is not NZ, he is a RM Officer. Get it right and it looks like a normal 4pm change of the guard ceremony to me. If it was a special ceremony then the public would be locked out until after the parade.
@@BrianKnox-dd2pi The eyes right are for the Blues Officer, to the right of the camera (the one that Inspected the parade, is the one who gets the salute, which is the Eyes Right and Gd Comd does the hand salute), they do the eyes right when ever an officer takes the parade. Watch another video without the RM Officer. The parade format is the same. The 2 mounted guys did an eyes left to the Royals Officer who took the parade, not right to the RM Officer! The Public are always shut out if the guards do a "Special" for a visitor! See this prime example th-cam.com/video/zw88z-2Dzgo/w-d-xo.html
I am a NZ Army Para veteran 11+ yrs and that’s not a Kiwi Officer 😂
My Grandfather with the RCA went over to London on his way to Juno beach in Normandy 1983 gathering. Wearing his uniform. Dad said it was his first time seeing the Queen's royal He saluted 07 And the guard tilted his sword. He was shocked. Dad said there was a very nice police officer to help them find the hotel They chatted a while And officer got them a taxi And mentioned a good place for a "proper english breakfast" 6 months later that poor officer died in a store bombing in London
The poster deliberately posts incorrect information as then thousands of people tell them they are wrong. This gives them
Hits in the algorithm and they get more money for their post. Cunning!!
Unless he came across from New Zealand to join the Corp, he is most definitely a Royal Marine
Sheeet I never knew I was a New Zealander for 24 years.
NOT a NZ officer. British Royal Marine officer. But glad to hear the UK is honouring their NZ cousins and comrades in arms.
The couple times you do hear his accent, he clearly is a New Zealander!
4,26 i cannot help but think thats his Brother standing for a pictur with him. They look a good likeness, Apart from his height.
NZ Kiwis or British Royal Marines, don’t matter. They were not the focus of the event. They were huddled in a corner and all they had was a great view of the guards and the horses back sides. That said, respect to all.
the guy in the background is from the RNZA, All the rest of the guys look like RM
The public si very.VERY DISRESEPECTFUL over there silence is what is proper! shame on those who were talking!
Our berets are also the same green as Royal Marines
It's a shame the public couldn't shut the hell up.
He looks like a Royal Marine to me.
and then people ask hy do you want to serve, why do you believe in people? and maybe people are the incontrol and we all just hope incontrol of the betterhood of life
were they? The soldiers marching "eyes right" on the way out, and the horsemen "eyes left" on the way out. You sure they aren't acknowledging something else?
This is not a New Zealand uniform. I’m Kiwi and have never seen that uniform before. There’s nothing to suggest it is from NZ. . I think maybe it’s from a European country.
UK Royal Marine commando officer...
That's royal marines number 2 uniform.
The only New Zealand thing I saw was an old boy putting a New Zealand infantry beret on a little girl for a photo.
Idiotic description of the video, that is NOT a New Zealand service member! Get your facts right.
New Zealand army units, mostly Maori, fought alongside South African, Indian and US soldiers throughout Italy. They were the first allied soldiers to liberate Venice, flying the New Zealand flag from the Doge's palace. They were ordered out by the US and sent to fight the Croatian Nazis in Slovenia. They liberated Slovenia but the war ended and they were ordered by the newly formed United Nations to hand over all their positions to Tito's communist forces. If but for the UN, Slovenia could have been free and pals with New Zealand. Where were the Australians? Fighting the Japanese. They had helped to destroy Rommel's army in North Africa. BTW, towards the end of WWI, it was the Australian and New Zealand light horse, the last successful Calvary charge (despite not being proper Calvary and using bayonets - destroyed the German and Turkish defences at Beer Sheeba, thus allowing the British to rule Palestine, ending 1000 years of ottoman rule. This made it possible for the rebirth of Israel in 1948.
Thays one big guy..He is British Army not NZ...I bet he would of been a real handful in a scrap!
Not Army, he’s Royal Marines which comes under The Royal Navy.
@@PokeEyeSlapSlap Yawn!
Also, as a veteran on full disability due to my injuries in Afghanistan …you wouldn’t catch me there unless I was in a box ….looking for glory or pats on the back ? 99% of us would rather be anywhere but there‼️🤮. I get it now what my Grandpa meant by legion dorks he called them. D-Day to 46 he was in Holland and Belgium. Humble men never do this ……

How can you mix up Royal Marines with New Zealanders
He's a Royal Marine no? Look so to me
That's looks like a Royal Marine officer in his Lovats .
"Hello"!!,.....I'm over here in the red jacket and shiny breast plate..."Hello".....
Salute to Kiwi Veteran for his service.
Most of the folk there didn't have a clue what they just watched. Lovely shoe of respect there by the Kings Guards.
I did not recognise any NZ insignia.
well, ehm that was an oops
To the original poster….. how’s this turned out for you? 😂
If you post clips like this at least be respectful and have some knowledge of identifying British troops.
RED ALERT, RED ALERT... KIWI in the courtyard...
Why are people laughing?
they are colonies.. like Aus..
What a load of bull shit, New Zealand Veterans?
Royal Marines Lt Col and Royal Marines veterans
@@MJMgreen0303 King's Guards Paying Respect to New Zealand Veterans, where at the New Zealand Veterans then?!
Sorry, poor video! too much useless panning!!
Ok first off…in Canada it is against the law to wear your uniform after retirement…UNLESS..you have specific and special orders to do so by the Military or the Prime Minister. Just sayin….In the U.S. and here in Canada, the rise of posers and stolen valour incidents have risen. I hope this is not the case 🫡‼️🇨🇦
Out of date move on
No New Zealanders involved. A Bootneck Half Colonel and a few ex-Royals kicking about though.😀
Kiwis and Aussies wear Khaki uniforms. 1st and 2nd Commando regiments wear green berets
