Yea, single main weapon is unprotectable, a lucky hit in/near the barrel can kill anything. I actually thought of rotating armor blocks that will protect the gun while it reloads. Plead guilty of having too low amount of main weapons. Gonna rebuild some ships cause of that)
@@BorderWise12you would need more than one main gun Turret, Monitors are well known for having one big ass Turret while battleships used to have atleast 2 turrets
I always enjoy a good combat testing video, so I say keep 'em coming whenever you want! My initial guess was that aimpoints and lack of redundancy would screw over the canoe. Having one big weapon sounds good, and especially for cram it can let you dish out some monster damage, but the single point of failure hurts a lot. Turret caps I always find to be a weak point; you can spam all the heavy armor you want on them, but unless you make them impractically large they're still likely to be weaker than your belt armor. Besides, if a cram of the size these ships are throwing around hits the cap, or something hits the barrel directly, there's really nothing you can do. Aimpoints also played a role; crams are always a huge cluster of blocks that tends to draw that kind of targeting, but aimpoints in general tend to favor things closer to the center of mass, and that's exactly where the canoe's turret is. I don't know if it's really practical to stop those kind of crams with active defenses, honestly. The hollowpoint one on the canoe is incredibly beefy, and the ones on the battleship are what, 85% hardener? At the point where you can actually reliably shoot those down, you've spent so much on CIWS that you've probably gimped your craft in other areas, and/or *carpeted* it in DIF flak.
Canoes FTW, its basically your trademark now, I think you can make them scary, just need some more redundancy! Also, for our new battleship designs, what cost do you want to settle on? 🤔

That APS gun going for gold at the is the equivalent to my ships vs either of these vessels. Granted I am a new player. The fleet is small, the ships are small, and meant to fight together. Bad at your types of testing videos. Maybe I should make some super-dumb goliath, a modern day FtD noobs first attempt at a "good ship" and send it to you to be bullied and turned into something not scuffed

For real. As fun as "big gun go brrr" is, it's not really sustainable.
Its really more of a Monitorcanoe than a battlecanoe.
yea, thats been a bordermeme for years. lol.
True! What would make it more battlecanoe-ish? 🤔
@@BorderWise12 Canoe... Shaped infrastructure? That sounds like a horrible idea!

Battle Canoe mkII (hey that rhymes) should have cram mortars. Just for the fun of it
Nice video, always very relaxing to put you on during evening tea
Omg canoe strikes back
Jeez, I think I didn't saw them for a quite a while from you, but I guess you surrendered to urges to build canoes once more xd
@@mikhailwerigin6397 It's always a lingering in my mimd to make canoo... 🥲👍🛶

@@GMODISM Cheers! About 2 million seems to be a good cost. 👍
Is it possible to use CRAMs as CIWS?
Yes, and it works as badly as you'd expect. XD
Pretty much only useful in CRAM-only tournaments.
i also build canoe it is so much faster and now i get it also I have watched all of your lets builds and tutorials
yes i come from the short and loved the laugh :)
Is it true that small APS can generally replace any simple weapons you would use?
The projectile ones for sure. They can't replace simple lasers, rams or drills, but APS ejectors can replace nukes. :D
Long live the battlecanoes!
hey, what specs do i need to run from teh depths.
