- In the first part of this three part series we visit Tom Renner’s extensive collection of antique farm equipment. On his farm in Belleville, Illinois, Renner has an unprecedented collection of antiques. Most of the items in this first installment are antique farm implements from the turn of the century and early 1900’s. Horse drawn equipment makes up most of the antique collection.

Can I say what these videos started? I come back to these series often. I like to learn about machines and horses. I believe in one of these videos a hit and miss engine is mentioned in passing. I ask my dad what that was and if we could see one run in person. A few months later, me surprises me my bringing home a 1 1/2 horse John Deere from a neighbor. He said it was ours. I show him these videos and we start collecting them. We went to an engine show and the bug bit us both. Hard. We just aquifer our 10th machine, a vertical hit and miss. He surprised me again as he said our 9th machine would be the last for a while.

I have a McCormick sickle mower it's a No. 6. Gear is stuck, It is in good. I like to find out what they are worth theses days in general. Possibly for sale. I live in Lexington SC..
Nice collection! Anyone know anything about the, Thomas mfg company from Ohio? I have a pre 1900's two speed Crown model sickle mower? I've been having trouble finding any others.
