@@bittermin3148yah it’s already been pretty fast with the 3 years rotation. I miss the slower period right after rotation where monocolor decks could thrive.
This title had part of me hoping this video would feature my favorite mild-mannered, typically unflappable Magic player just absolutely red-lining his Blue Yeti until his opponents concede.
@@danielstein8769I think Jim is more nonchalant with the average magic players expected experience haha definitely salt but it’s relatable. Cgb is a little more aggy but their both characters. What I dislike about cgb is more so his community they religiously hate anything red and aggressive like it’s not part of the game and their brains are too big to play anything other than hardcore control lol
I am playing this deck but with a bunch of copies of pyroclasm instead of the lizard to take multiple chump blockers. It's also helpful on the mirror match and plays around the ward from the shelterd by ghosts sometimes. Also take multiple bats at the same time is pretty useful. And the prowess from the swiftspear prevent her from dying while you cast it. A lot of uses and sinergies.
It is very obvious, when the creature itself only procs the passive IF the damage is redirected (the one that stops the opponent from healing). That is pretty much exactly the reason shock is so good in this deck, as not only it is a small burn, but it can be an OP no heal proc + no damage is lost anyway
I usually watch your videos with subs and no sound late at night while completely insomniac - and the recent videos don't seem to have captions enabled, could you look into it? the deck is fun as usual, after a 1-3 sealed it feels nice to burn some faces off...
Started off with mono red burn and I was impressed with the 3 mana case and the Bloodfeather Phoenix but there's def a lotta tension with those cards and awkwardness. Nemesis and hired claw impressed me so much in this vid! Think boros is the way to go after seeing how much faster it can go!
Hey Luca, do you remember the Tamiyo / Three Blind Mice combo? Now that Tamiyo is gone, but we have Doppelgang and Extravagant Replication, would you mind giving this a go again? I would living for it !
This morning I was literally just thinking about a Boros burn deck with Screaming Nemesis then I see this lol. I pulled some copies of Nemesis and Rollercrusher when DSK came out so I tried to use them together since Rollercrusher with delirium would double the damage going in and out of Nemesis if you target it with burn or gets hit with a red sweeper spell. Then I had the thought that with Boros Charm indestructible mode you could ping-pong damage between two copies of Nemesis until it grows lethal then go face. It sounds so jank but be funny to resolve 😂 I also just realized I haven't been subscribed to the channel all this time and I've been watching for the past couple months...
Finally, a deck I can actually craft 😅 I'd have to modify it, though, since it has no artifact/enchantment removal. Way too many people playing enchantments and artifacts that I just can't stand, like... -Urabrask's Forge -Skrelv's Hive -Virtue of Persistence -Grievous Wound -Painful Quandary -Simulacrum Synthesizer -Portal to Phyrexia -Rakdos Joins Up -All Will Be One -Temporary Lockdown (and all the rest of exilling, tapping, pacifying and smurfing enchantments) -Sword of Wealth and Power -Cryptic Coat -Greed's Gambit -Ozolith, Shattered Spire ...and the talents, rooms, overlords, etc. Just too much crap, I can't not have my trusty exile spells and Requisition Raid when I play white. Btw, with so many red sources that deal noncombat damage, I think that Ojer Axonil would be a perfect addition to this deck. All red noncombat damage spells and abilities would deal 4 damage minimum (if Ojer is buffed, they'll deal even more damage)... for 4 mana I think it's worth adding, besides, it can come back to life.
Consistency is important and this deck has enough speed and reach to end the game before just about any of the things you listed takes over. You could certainly go wild with a bo3 sideboard
I haven’t had a chance to try it yet (rare wildcards in this economy?) but case of the crimson pulse seems like it would do great in this deck. Being able to refuel when you’re on empty could avoid those situations where you’re out of burn and have nothing to do except top deck
Double strike is only +3 damage, it only applies to one creature. You’re better off choosing the 4 damage mode. Not to mention the risk of opposing removal.
Should this deck incorporate some form of card advantage? Often it seemed like we would live and die by the top of our deck, and that we were particularly vulnerable to duress.
How would you feel about adding in case of the crimson pulse? It can help reload your hand against discard or if you have to waste multiple burn spells on a must kill threat.
He did a video on a timeless burn deck a while ago in rakdos and it was plenty fast enough then. Idk how it would be now but there’s a template for a burn deck in timeless at least
ok this is a burn deck i can get behind.....nice ugh...every time i see "each opponent" im like...when are we getting 2 headed monster and 4 way matches? is this ever going to happen or am i just dreamer?
Anyone try screaming nemesis with small damage sweepers? (eg: 2 damage to each creature) Haven't played this standard, but it seems like it could be good. Help clear up something slightly too big for the sweep, or just hit face.
The title and thumbnail today evoke a stunning imagery. AAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAA
I can't believe how blatantly rigged this game is on arena. I built this deck, mostly, and I won like 5 or 6 different games against different types including the mirror. Then the system hits me with a mono white gain and I lose. Okay fair enough that was the seventh game could have been randomness. Then I get hit with two mono black, discard, sheoldred decks back to back. Which I lose to.
True but it's also really common how often I'll see a life gain matchup repeatedly after playing any form of red deck wins and winning with it. There are a lot of common archetypes on the ladder that don't gain large amounts of life. It's amazing how often I saw Heliods and Angels after playing historic Red leylines. And it's just not rdw. Play a creature swarm you'll get lots of spot removal and board wipes. I play elves a lot I've seen it a lot. Play life gain you'll get anti life and poison not to mention lots of hush bringers and strict proctors. Rarely ever see Karn until I'm playing artifacts aether flux charbelcher, etc. how many minions of the mighty decks I see when I'm not playing spot removal versus how many I don't when I am playing removal. On and on and on. @@LegenVD

Shooting your own creature just to have it redirect the damage to the face is the pettiest move i've ever seen from Legend 🤣

Monastery Swiftspear, Lightning Helix, Boros Charm, what year and format is this? 😂
Kicking burst lightning on Turn 5, after you drew only lands in your 20 land deck, because the shuffler is fine.
