Some tips: Hold down the acceleration button when the countdown is at 2. Shake your controller on jumps for a boost. Motorcycles with monster wheels drift the best. Go right behind someone to catch air off of them and get a boost. If you have shells rotating around you, you can get close to another player and the shell will hit them or you could hold onto them and if someone throws something at you, it acts as protection.
I love your videos, Jenn. By the way, when you were questioning your friends about the Animal Crossing level, this level was actually one of the DLC levels from the Wii U version.

You have to break drift when you play 200cc and also for some turns in 150cc like the big turn at the start of Rainbow Road which is why you kept falling off
