The most shameful thing in this whole shameful incident is that the police officer clearly knew the law, and knew what you were doing was lawful and within your rights - because he obviously was telling the prison bosses that before they did the walk of shame. Yet in spite of that on arrival he deliberately lied and tried to intimidate you into doing what the prison management wanted instead of applying the law as he clearly understood it. That's why he refused to identify even though he also knows it is departmental policy to do so upon request. This wasn't a case of being mis or uninformed as to the law, he actually chose to ignore it and knowingly violate your rights. That makes him the lowest of the low. Unfortunately I doubt if anything will be done to chastise him, even though he should be dismissed for gross misconduct.

Those who were bullies in high school, and those who were bullied in high school. The reasoning is obvious I think. Either way, no amount of education is going to override their natural tenancy to exert their "authority" over their "subjects". The only way to make it stop is to have an elected civilian group with the real power to hold them accountable (including termination or bringing charges against them that the DA *must* pursue) with elections often enough that there's not really time to corrupt them.

I've watched many audits... this was one of the best (don't miss part I). Impressive resilience on the part of the auditor. It is very difficult to just shut up and let the authoritarians make fools of themselves. Other than necessary live narration this auditor kept the focus on the actions of those who would deprive us of our rights. Notice the careful answers he gave. He never loses his cool, nor did he resort to foul language or ad hominem attacks. This should be required viewing in US Civics classes.

I read a story about one man who was thrown in solitary confinement for 4 YEARS, and was eventually released because his lawyer pressed the prison for months, demanding to know where her client was. When he got out, all the prison did was say “sorry”. Literally, that’s all they did. As far as I know, he has not yet been given any compensation for his unlawful treatment, but hopefully he is fighting them in court.

@@shottazyouth I'm guessing you could film the car plates and location and time of interaction and discover who the officer was. I found it interesting that those unidentified men were asking questions and they never ID'd themselves as police. I learned about public easement.
