Octopuses; octopi; and octopodes are all acceptable plural forms for octopus. Octopuses is fine because when a word is adopted into English it becomes an English word and open to adopting English plural forms; octopodes is fine because it is a word of *Greek* origin and thus open to having a Greek plural form; and octopi is fine because... I don't know... the word spent time in New Latin or something. Of the three plural-forms I would say that octopi is probably the oddest fit for the word (a Latin plural-form for a word of Greek origin?) but all of the plural forms have a pretty extensive history and what matters most in linguistics is usage rather than the logic behind the words. I hope that answers the question.
The octopus is the most fascinating and uniquely gorgeous creature that I've ever seen. I've watched and enjoyed several videos on them.
Cuttlefish are better
Sense each leg has a mind of it's own, does that mean one leg could try to stop another leg from doing something?? Lol
must be annoying having to debunk things that get blasted as information for decades
Very smart creature
Arms?? Nope tentacles!!
Makes sense, because my arms don’t have rows of suckers, so I don’t know why they call them arms. Now if their tentacles had hands on the ends…🤣
