We recently booked a suite on a similar cruise line and were told that it included butler service . We didn't think much about it at the time . What they didn't tell us was that it was one butler for all the suites in that area of the ship . He served us breakfast a few times "brought it to our suite" "set it all out on the table" and that was pretty much it . By the end of the cruise it became apparent he was running his ass off for people in all the other suites . I have no idea how many other suites there were .
It is wonderful to hear about butlers in other aspects of the industry. I have always been a personal butler and train personal butlers. It is great to see the similarities.
@@felix.mp3639 I like it very much. It requires similar skills to being a commercial butler but with the addition of personal assistant duties. Being a butler has allowed me to travel and meet some fascinating people.
The lady who said they seem to know everything about you- I worked at a high end ski lodge and we had extensive notes on each guest, whether returning or first time :)
I have taken 2 cruises on Cunard. The most recent was on Queen Mary 2. It is the most elegant of all cruise lines. The service and ships are magnificent. Cunard ships define style and elegance
My first QM2 trip will be in a Britannia Club Balcony cabin because I will be bringing a friend with me, so no butler, but if I decide to go a second trip I will travel solo and try a Queen's Grill suite just to try the butler service. I believe Queens Grille is the lowest state room that offers a butler. I've never had a butler before so it will be a very different experience and I'll have to learn how to interact with them.
@@thefoftheg9134yes. All classes of staterooms have stewards . The princess and queen grills class fares include an ostensibly higher level of service termed butler service by Cunard but that’s a bit of a misnomer.
This is a lovely video Cunard but we didn't quite get the same experience as the good folk on it. Perhaps it needs to be consistently applied? You've seen the Queens Grill video on my channel and I hope in future you'll inform first time Grills guests on what is on offer and not leave it to chance that they already know. :)
I think some of the disconnect in the comments stems from a modern connotation of service work being demeaning , this is not correct. Service work, especially at a high level, is challenging and rewarding work in which people can and do take pride in performing well. There is no shame in performing service work, there is no shame in being served.
@@nhoyvlog1752 Yes of course! You can find lots of opportunities in Middle East, where this job is common, you never know which Sheikh, which celebrity or which diplomatic or political person you will find and attend on your own. Its really gratefull and shows you a lot of things. Try to find where to study it and always take the best out of it 😁
The in-room drinks hosting would be awesome, especially if you've met a few other guests onboard and want to have a quiet in-room gathering. Personally, I'd prefer to unpack my own things. Those pillows look so comfy though. We were close to cruising with Cunard in 2020 until the shutdown changed things.
Perfectly reasonable outlook, (unpacking your own things and whatnot) . Modern sensibilities are really compatible with service. I do enjoy elevated service whilst on vacation; I can’t afford it every day but, do find it relaxing and special on occasion.
We have had Butlers on Cunard a few times, the only one that was worthy of the epithet was Alex on QV, the rest were hardly ever seen or looked so miserable and stressed they put one off asking for anything,we tend to not use the Butler services anyway,we can unpack and pack our own clothes!
Why pay for queen’s grill if you don’t want the service? The class is primarily an enhanced room and dining option. To be honest you could buy an inside cabin for a servant , bring them and get excellent service for less than queen’s grill pricing if that in something you’d enjoy. It was typical to bring staff on a cruise years ago.

Perfectly in the background but always present and helpful. Had a great Queens Grill-time on board of QM2.

All ive ever wanted was a wise English butler like Alfred.
Great job guys))
Yes. Nothing makes me feel more at home than a servant
Based on your remarks, this class of experience would not be of interest to you, and, I’d expect you would make the staff uncomfortable as well.
You pay good money fir the privilege
Omg it's like a human Alexa!
No, it isn't.

Queen’s grill is the highest level class, there are fancier staterooms but the dining and service is ostensibly the same.
Not gonna lie, never saw a female butler before...and I am impressed
We had a queens grill cabin an east bound Atlantic crossing in 2009. We only saw the butler once over the 6 days of the crossing!
Excuse me, is there stateroom steward on cunard and how much salary per month for them ?
Thank you and sorry for my bad english.

Seeing I have to ask the price of this service proves I can't afford it. Wonderful thought though.
The Butler service comes with the "Queens Grill" type suite.

Queens Grill
So, that's how the other half lives.....very nice
What do you mean half? You mean the 1% of society. ;)
Best of the best cunard⛵
Wished I had the money to afford a butler

Tradition is paramount; if your female butler; than your a "maid", ... !!
The correct term is 'Buttress'

A female butler? No thank you! I’ve read Daphne du Maurier’s “Rebecca.”
She was a housekeeper!
