I’m SO happy you reviewed Cider! I get so many ads and I have literally filled a cart and left it multiple times bc I wasn’t sure how it would come out. Now I know 😂
The Cider ads are so pretty, but I’ve seen so many designers (particularly crochet pattern designers) say that Cider has ripped off their designs that I’ve never bought from them. Good to know I’m not missing anything
Thank you for showing your skin up close! It makes me feel so much better. I never understand why i have these dry patches on my cheeks when I use foundation. But im so happy to see that even the queen of make up has that problem! I always thought i wasnt using right product and stuff. But its just my skin. And it really helps me to see that even someone like you, who has acess to so much make up, has the same thing 💜💜💜
Everyone talking about the products in the add but I just wanted to say that the part with James and Pinky was so freaking adorable. Like three of you being together in the shot made me extremely happy and completely melted my heart
Cider is horrendous, one of the worst offenders for exploitation of factory workers 😢 they also rip of independent designers and pass designs off as their own. So glad that you gave an honest review ❤
Looks like Shein, Wish, etc, do: where they steal others designs and also their original images on the site, so when they send out the actual knock-off you never quite know what you'll get (but it won't be fully what was pictured).
i had seen so many ads for cider and i just adore the designs … until i bought from them. just like shein, I bought my size but it was absolutely tiny so none of it fit. i honestly cried 😅 i was so disappointed with the quality and the sizing issues. their customer service was also terrible… but i cant find any similar designs from reputable shops :(
I was also a victim of Cider's catfishing scheme. I bought two corset tops, but like Soph's they were unlined and had no internal structure :( I would never recommend to a friend!
I had exactly the same experience with cider, the dress I ordered was so cheaply manufactured and was really tight around the hips/tummy but big around the bust! I did a bit of digging and they're basically a dropshipper for AliExpress, which makes a lot of sense
I was feeling particularly shitty tonight, but I instantly felt a little better when I saw that Soph had uploaded! You're just such a lovely person and your videos always bring a smile to my face 💕
Sophhhh you made me soooo happy when you showed a close up of your dry skin in the end. I feel like I only ever see influencers and TH-camrs with oily skin. As someone who’s very insecure about their dry spots it felt so good ❤️
Yeah, it's like us dry skin girls are some kind of rarity if you watch TH-cam and Instagram! I have had dry, dehydrated skin all of my life (with cystic hormonal acne and seborrhoeic eczema and 'regular' eczema when I was young. After my 20th I lost the seborrhoeic part thank god, but still have hormonal acne and that dry, reddish patches eczema that hurts). I love TH-camrs who show their true skin. When I hit 40 I suddenly got large pores and every foundation - already difficult with my dry, sensitive skin - looked horrible...I thought. Until a few TH-camrs like Soph and Robert Welsh and Johnny showed their skin with foundation they liked without lights. It looked similar! But... long story short: you're not alone love.
@@intothemystic5223 It's lovely, and really does feel comfy, somehow. If you prefer, they also have it in a solid perfume, but the scent isn't nearly as potent in that one. It's a very versatile fragrance. 🥰
I ordered the same dress from cider for a wedding. I had the same neckline issue but I was able to fix it with a cleverly placed safety pin haha. I’ve also bought the floral kind of corset mini dress (you know the one lol) and that one is actually really good quality in my opinion. I feel like all online clothes shopping these days is a hit or miss unfortunately.
RE Glossier perfume: I think it's inspired by Molecule 01. Like only Ambroxan or ISO E Super. Those are usually woody or spicy-woody and feel comfy, like getting under clean, warm sheets on a tough day. Those kind of perfumes indeed need YOU, because they don't have a true scent notes pyramid, but the stuff inside mixes with your own skin chemistry and pheromones. Which is why it can be a compliment better and aphrodisiac on some. Just like Escentric Molecules - Molecule 01 and 02 and Juliette has a Gun (who stole the Molecule idea with their Not a Perfume) it simply won't work on everyone. TIP: If it indeed has Ambroxan/ISO E Super or a comparable synthetic it's great for layering. These synthetics are often part of perfumes already. If you don't like it on its own, don't worry. It can still have a great use (and if you DO like it, you now have a double use for it ;).), Say you have a perfume that isn't super strong in performance, well you can spray the Glossier (or your Molecule, or JHAG) on top and it'll last much longer and usually becomes a bit stronger in projection too. And if you don't like it on its own, it'll also be great to mix with sweeter perfumes, making a new scent or enforcing the base notes of your fave.
I feel like cider is just very hit and miss with their actual production, I had the last cider dress for my graduation dress and although it came skewed up once it was ironed it was perfect!
I thought it was funny that she kept complaining that they arrived “screwed up.” Like what, wrinkled?? Haha, that’s not a valid criticism. The rest though, there’s really no saving something that’s been badly made
Soph, I doubt you’ll see this but I used to have the dry skin flakes except way worse than you and I tried the Bioderm hydrate and Bioderm serum. It worked SO well!!
The Cider sizing is very weird. I measured myself so that i wouldn’t have to send anything back bc of it not fitting, and they were all too big. I usually wear XS and I thought it was weird that the measurements gave me an S, but of course I went for it because measurements are what matters.. apparently not on Cider :/
Tatcha dewy skin cream is my absolute favorite for my extremely dry skin that and the ITCosmetics Confidence in a Cream they are both so nice imo. Soph I just Love your videos🥰🥰🥰🥰🥰🥰🥰🥰
I have really dry and eczema prone skin and tried all sorts of expensive creams. It ended up so bad that I got prescribed Epimax cream to use as cleanser and moisturiser and it’s the best thing I’ve ever used. You can buy it online for £6/£7 I think. Try it and let me know your thoughts! :))
I'm so sad Cider isn't as great as it looks!! I've been getting ads for their clothes A LOT and i really like they styles they do so i'm really glad i saw this!! You truly were catfished by that top 💀
I bought that same blue cowl neck dress for a wedding last month, and I had the exact same complaints as you, it made me feel so bad about myself when I put it on so I’m glad it wasn’t just me
I really loved the Tatcha Dewy Skin Cream, I got a sample one year for my birthday. I didn't get it again because it is so very expensive. My Clinique moisturizer has the same vibe and about 30 dollars less.
I definitely think Cider is kind of a shein clone with more trendy clothes, personally i haven’t had any faults with cider so far but ik that it’s definitely one of those sites to be careful of!
omg i have always wanted to order clothes from cider but i am so so so glad you've reviewed them. i've always hesitated because i have a larger bust and their clothes look like they're for smaller busts but it seems like the boob-region is the least of my concerns with them hahha!
The last review I watched for Cider was a really positive one, which is why we need different creators reviewing the same businesses! I was set on ordering some of their pieces but your review has been very enlightening and so I’m going to save my money, for now. Thanks, Soph!
Hey Soph, I know you must hear this all the time, but your vids brighten up my day, after a stressful day your voice chills me right out for my me time. They’re all so helpful and I’ve brought so much from your recommendations, but yeah just wanted to say thank you for being great xx
Your videos just make my day! Also I've been mixing the shade twenty one from your palette with my gloss and it's my new favorite lip shade so thank you for that🥰🤗
Oh my gosh now you have to try that other perfume that’s supposed to attract the men, been popping up on my page so much 😅😅 that and that laser hair remover, which I’ve already bought and waiting for it’s arrival 🙌🏽
Do you use any acids for your skin? I find that glycolic and Lactic acid work sooo good at getting rid of dry patches and helping to get rid of that top layer of skin. If you don’t I highly recommend trying one that suites ur skin it sounds so scary at first but works wonders. Lots of♥️♥️♥️♥️
You seriously cannot go wrong with Tatcha products. I have used them for years, starting off with the dewy skin cream got me totally hooked on their brand. I think I have about 10 of their skin care line and also their liquid silk canvas and powder. A MUST try are their lip products and mask for lips, simply amazing!
I have combo skin- I love Tacha water cream (green one) but it’s so expensive, you only need a tiny bit. The Neutrogena hydro boost water gel is a dupe and a good dupe.
I have a dress with a similar issue to the first Cider one and I got it professionally sewn with an invisible seam. Worked like a dream! Can't even see it!
Tatcha is so expensive but the purple cream has been my holy grail for like four years now. I like it over the CT magic cream. I’m glad you guys finally get it over in the UK!!
WTH is that all about? They have always just seemed too IG onfluencer/bougie to me, I've never bought anything. Just didn't like the vibe they put out.
The Tatcha dewy skin cream is amazing!! It also lasts forever! Literally lasted me like a year and a half but I did buy the big one that only comes out maybe once a year...it was around 130$ Canadian. Definitely worth it. I do HATE fragrance in skincare though.
My cider order was a flop too. Got a silky dress with chain straps, and a couple knit/patch work dresses (same dress two colors in different sizes) the first dress looked awful in person the chain was plastic the fabric was gross feeling.. and the knit dresses were fine.. but the size small was actually BIGGER than the medium! It made no sense.
For the blue silky dress, you can style it with a black or white, grey, or wine red corset. And for the extra fabric at the Bust part you can sow that down to make a sweetheart neck line. If you need a sketch text me..
I loved this so much and can we just talk about how affordable that razor is sounds like a bargain to me and also I just want to mention how kind soph is to always include everyone when it comes to our price ranges 💜💜💜
The second dress from cider are the SAME EXACT print from the curtains from my childhood home back in 2005 till 2009 and i see this print ALL OVER cider and its just so funny to me
Just adding now before I forget. I have oily but sensitive and reactive skin and adding a thermal water spray into my skin care has been a life saver! I use the avene one. I really recommend. Xx
Soph you can diy your own boning for the corset top zip ties you put them into the seams and cut the ends off them they make great boning hope you try it and it helps I've done it before it's really easy to do 🥰
I needed this cider review! Their ads make the clothes seem so stunning but that quality and those fits?! Woof. I’ll save my coin for more Rare Beauty products instead 😜
I really like Tatcha skin care products. I am currently using their gratitude sizing of the Rice Wash (has lasted me since January and it’s still going). The Dewy Skin cream is also awesome but I usually use it at night (I own the gratitude sizing as well). Their customer service is top notch. When my Dewy Skin Cream arrived, it was cracked in the lid so they sent me a brand new one, free of charge 😊 I own three of them and am currently still using my travel size one so this moisturizer is going to last me years. I’ve tried their Water Cream and while it’s nice, it doesn’t really do much for my skin as I get dry patches on my cheeks. I’d rather spend the money on the Dewy Skin Cream as it feels luxurious to me and the smell is lovely.
I had to come and tell you, I used to think I had oily and dry skin too, which made absolutely no sense to me at all! Then I spoke to a dermatologist and she said I actually have dehydrated skin! She recommended to use toner immediately after cleansing my face, otherwise the moisture evaporates out of your pores. It's made such a huge difference to my skin, thought it could work for you, if you're not already doing it! Love you and your vids 🧡
I LOVE Tatcha, I have horrendously sensitive skin and i swear by their cleansing oil & the rice enzyme exfoliation. I also got the dewy moisturising spray recently and its just like the rest of the brand. I don’t think I’ve encountered any products with fragrance and i seriously cant recommend them enough
I am bad at replacing my razor blades 🙈 But I use a silk’n the at home hair removal thing so I don’t have to shave as much anyways. So my razors can last longer
Thank you sooo much for this review❤️ I was about to make a huge order on cider and I sure won’t be now😅their products really do look waaay better online
I've had the best luck with Cider by clicking on each size to check measurements before choosing which size to order AND never forgetting to read item descriptions, materials, care instructions AND reviews (always helpful for things that aren't mentioned in previous sections). Good thing about Cider is they're super easy with returns/refunds- your first is always free & they always offer to let you keep your items first. Another piece of advice is to look for items that are shown on a model (unfortunately, they don't have a ton). The prices do reflect the quality for the most part though, but I've found a few gems! It's trial & error lol
I have decided to only buy clothing that is well made out of mostly natural fabrics, like I will still buy a cotton blend piece. I want pieces that will last, no more one season clothing items for me!!
I needed this cider review! Their ads make the clothes seem so stunning but that quality and those fits?! Woof. I’ll save my coin for more Rare Beauty products instead 😜
It’s such a mixed bag! I’ve ordered a cotton dress, jeans and a wool sweater from there and the quality was amazing! I couldn’t believe how affordable those were. So I ordered again, and this time it was a disaster. They have a really good return policy where you can either keep the items and get 50% of your money back or send it back for free and get your entire money back of course. I’ve ordered a third time, only ordering wool and cotton items and they were really nice quality again. They tell you the material so those are the only items I’d go for in the future. But the entire website is really sus. I don’t get the brand at all.
I've seen quite a few of your videos over the years, and truly enjoy your content. How did I not notice till just now, the close up of you trying the cream, that you look like Reese Witherspoon?? I can't be the only one, can I?
I’m SO happy you reviewed Cider! I get so many ads and I have literally filled a cart and left it multiple times bc I wasn’t sure how it would come out. Now I know 😂

I literally had a cider ad on this video 😭😭
From what I understand, they're kinda like SheIn as far as it being fast fashion and relatively affordable
I just got a Cider dress for the first time and it’s amazing even better than I thought it would be!!

There is butter cream from Tasha and its hyram fav!!! It's the indogo cream the deep blue one
Cleansing, toner and then moisturiser? Or when does the moisturiser come in?
@@1337-i3v you got it, cleansing, toner, then moisturiser! Sounds so simple but makes such a big difference xx
That lip colour looks amazing on you. I thought that before you even mentioned it 💋😍 xx
Tatcha is the best skincare I’ve ever used. Their rice polish has changed my skin!
I cant get over how pretty she is!
Thank you for this Cider review - confirmed my fears! And like £28 is like quite cheap but it's not like CHEAP is it!! Rip off!
I LOVE THAT LIP COLOUR ON YOU ❤❤❤
I am bad at replacing my razor blades 🙈 But I use a silk’n the at home hair removal thing so I don’t have to shave as much anyways.
After watching this video I was curious as to how often to replace your razor head. Google says every 5-7 shaves which to me is absurd lol
lactic acid will help so much with the dryness and stem-cells too as a serum or moisturizer

I quite liked everything I got from Cider, especially the sweaters. Definitely going to order more of them!
I ordered stuff off of cider two times already and love it
I've seen quite a few of your videos over the years, and truly enjoy your content. How did I not notice till just now, the close up of you trying the cream, that you look like Reese Witherspoon?? I can't be the only one, can I?
