Maybe it’s the clarity of his role. If he’s been told to be attacking then that’s what he has to do. I think he definitely has the skill to build innings. Maybe he needs the responsibility of being captain or pushed higher up the order?

Depends on the line. If it’s on the stumps he tends to work it off the back foot. He doesn’t have a big move forward
