      ***** Would you take away the sense of religion and just think of this man as an individual? He's very moderate, just devout. He converted because he decided to educate himself after what he had seen. I say he's an admirable character, not that I would ever do the same being an agnostic and finding religion to be unimportant for daily life. There are more good muslims than there are bad ones, you wouldn't go up to Muhammed Ali and bash his religion in front of his face would you? (He would probably bash yours with boxing gloves.) Just think about how you look saying these things.

    This happens a lot it seems like, iv heard of a lot of soldiers who went to Iraq and Afghanistan convert, they arnt fighting Islam, that's why. People who are true to Islam and don't manipulate it are peaceful people. I might be a bit shady on these facts but im pretty sure the Quran is a lot more of a peaceful book than the bible.

    The irony is "SOME" people who claim to be American are saying that Islam is incompatible with the West whilst Islam had one of it's golden eras in Al-Andalus Spain. It was due to Queen Isabella invading massacring/raping and pillaging Spain that the west got it's enlightenment i.e. they stole and robbed Spain of it's knowledge leading to Europe's Golden years..also one point which is ironic it seems people forget history when it relates to them? One might ask how did America come into existence did the natives welcome the "savages" who raped and pillaged their land with open arms?
    PS: Please respect life and history, don't paint out that America is the saver of mankind when it has shed so much blood and stolen land and resources like no other nation on earth.

    • @MultiMiss62
      @MultiMiss62 7 ปีที่แล้ว

      Why do they flee Islamic countries? Clearly you have a very egocentric view/thought process. When the West is bombing your country and giving your land to others (like Donald Trump recognising Jerusalem as the capital of Israel) you are left with a simple choice - die or flee to seek refuge, shelter and safety somewhere else.

    • @MultiMiss62
      @MultiMiss62 7 ปีที่แล้ว

      Bullshit lies? So are you denying the atrocities committed by the West? The involvement and the role the West plays in all this? Also, Saddam was a puppet of the US - backed up, powered by and supplied by the US. Fact, not a bullshit lie.

    man before i came to know Vice i always believed that everyone in this world had the ability to comprehend facts and to differentiate between the good within a group and the bad within a group or society. Now it's vividly clear that the majority of the people here hate me. You people hate for being a Muslim and you guys dont even know me. What my life has been like and how i was brought up. The teachings of my prophet are ridiculed and to some extent it is viewed as a cult. My Book is made fun of. Everything i hold dear is considered as wrong and i'm known as a terrorist. It doesn't matter how good i am, because according to the majority of ignorant people here i am out to murder everyone. I have love for all different races/beliefs and groups and I believe that hopefully at least one of you guys can be convinced to think differently next time you are about to abuse me or my religion. Liar. Either you've never read a Quran or are using taqiyya.
      _the islam said ( who killed someone without reason is like killed people all)_
      ^ The 'verse' you mention cannot be found in any printed copy of the Qur'an, regardless of whether or not it is in the original Arabic or in one of its many English translations. *The reason for this is simple: that verse does NOT exist.* In truth, it is a distorted, out-of-context and wholly misleading paraphrasing (adopted by Moslems) of Qur'an 5:32 which states -
      "... We decreed upon the CHILDREN OF ISRAEL that whoever kills a soul unless for a soul or for corruption [done] in the land - it is as if he had slain mankind entirely. And whoever saves one - it is as if he had saved mankind entirely. And our messengers had certainly come to them with clear proofs. Then indeed many of them, [even] after that, throughout the land, were transgressors."
      The very next verse - Qur'an 5:33 - continues: "Indeed, the penalty for those who wage war against Allah and His Messenger and strive upon earth [to cause] corruption is none but that they be killed or crucified or that their hands and feet be cut off from opposite sides or that they be exiled from the land. That is for them a disgrace in this world; and for them in the Hereafter is a great punishment,..." These verses clearly refer ONLY to "the Children of Israel" and does NOT apply to Moslems. You now know that verses 5:32-33 do not condemn the killing of a non-Moslem.
      In this instance, as in many others, it is apologists like you who misinterpret verses and quote them out of context in order to deceive uneducated people.

    I like how Obama said, "I tryed to close Guantanamo, I transferd 60 detainees...etc".
    The problem is not Guantanamo, the problem is the whole retroric of fighting for "freedom", and at the same time detaining people, without even a hope of a trial. It does not metter where you hold them, the problem is that you hold without trial and following the rules of war ( under which they are then War prisoners, and still should be treated better then they are ). And the matter of the fact is, those are people from different independent states, so using the rule of war on a detainee from Kazachstan, Pakistan, etc, would mean that you are in a war with that country.
    Sometimes I just wish to see it all come down, to see some extrimist come to power in Pakistan and just...Because they have the bomb...

      It's okay, this is a common problem however. Many people see verses in the Quran as direct orders on muslims while in fact it is more of a historical documentation on specific events

    It's obvious this series about Guantanamo is biased against it. It's quite frustrating to get bias along with reporting. I would like to just get the facts without having opinion and personal bias injected into it. =/

    This guys is the typical soldier that gets out .. And it's angry at the army for not getting the leave he wanted ... So now he finds a way to get back at the army .. And the reporter grosses me out ... This has nothing to do w Islam .. They use Islam as an excuse to commit crimes against humanity ..

    FEAR is behind all of this! If one leads a fearful life then your life will be filled with ignorance, hate, greed, envy... etc. Without fear all that is left is LOVE. People hide behind there fear with religion, security, structure, and rules feeling that there is some sort of control involved. As soon as a persons sense control or security is dissolved the "only" choice" left is to be fearful. The real truth is that no one has control. You perceive yourself as in control but who actually is. Let go and make a choice and go with it. Every detail doesn't matter. My point is that as soon as we begin let go of our FEAR we will have nothing left to do but love each other. We can't learn from he past if we continue this cycle of FEAR. Fear repeats history! Love creates! The horrors of Guantanamo and other atrocities will only continue as long as we live in fear! Your purpose in life is to love and help each other. Peace be with all creatures and life! Unity!

    I have watch the whole series and I frankly believe that this is very poor reporting done by vice on this subject. Coming from a military background, I served with some individuals that came from tours in Cuba. They will tell a very different story than what is being displayed by this series. I suggest that evaluating the bias very heavily when forming an opinion from this series.

    Guantanamo has given us many black eyes as a country, but I disagree with the guy that it means the U.S. is headed to "a dark place" or is a portend of things to come. Gitmo is pretty roundly condemned -- who stands up for it? And I too wish for a peaceful America, but we must also be hard and war-like when dealing with people, like Islamist Thugs, who don't share or want our values (values like freedom of speech, consent of the governed, no state religion, etc.) I do know this -- I don't look for answers in the Koran, The Hebrew Bible, The New Testament, the Vetas, or any other ancient book that purports to be a divine guide, but is very often just a recipe on how to not get along with others.

    I want to know what happened to him to have that horseshoe shaped scar on the side of his head. It wasn't from being a guard in Gitmo. He also was in the Army Reserve and not on active duty, most likely with the MP Company that gave the Army a bad name at Gitmo. . The ID card they show next to his VA card is a TA-180 card only issued to Reserve and Guard when their period of active duty is complete.

    I understand that guantanamo is probably not a very nice place but this is such a one sided left wing argument its unreal. For me to take this even one bit seriously I must here both sides. It just sounds like a very biased monologue there was no counter argument. As I said that isn't a debate its just a boring one sided waffle... (hearing both sides of the argument would be interesting not that I necessarily agree with either)
