I binged your videos when I considered getting my locs installed. I'd had a short cut/bald cut for years. I got locs installed in May 2022 and I combed them out May 2024. Between the thinning (and i barely wore "styles" or buns with my locs), it wasn't worth it. i'm so glad to be playing in my natural hair again for the first time since 2018. Here for your journey! Like you said, we're always evolving.

Girl I am so proud of you! And I’m not going anywhere 🥹 I’m here for the JOURNEY regardless! I started watching wayyy before I finally locd my hair and you have always been a beam of light and positivity. I’ve always got the sense that your locs were a part of your life-growth in GENERAL and that was one of the main points that I stuck to. Even if they aren’t forever, the experience we get from just having and wearing our locs daily is what molds that powerful perspective. I LOVE the cut! You’re just as gorgeous as you’ve always been ❤️❤️❤️

Girl, it's been 17 years since a relaxer. I'm going into 50 and don't want any endocrine disruptors like what's in relaxers. It sounds like you've had a hard few years and faced some losses. I pray that whatever hair style allows you to survive in this moment❤ It's good you held on to your locs. If you ever miss them, you have them but you have to do what makes you happy.

Hi @Nina G. I've been watching your videos for years. I love you personality and vulnerability. I've been growing my locs for 7 years. I'm 51 and going through menopause and my hair is thinning in the middle and my edges are nearly gone. I'm considering cutting because of constant hot flashes and the weight of my locs. I was going through a lot of life changes when I started my locs. If my hair starts growing back in the middle, I may consider cutting my locs. I love your story and I will continue to watch your videos. Thanks for sharing. 🫶🏾

Hey boo. I am deeply proud of you. You have so much strength and tenacity, gentleness and good intentions. I see you fully and I understand.
I literally cut all my locs off yesterday except for one (wanted a little rattail look haha) and I absolutely love it. Had them for almost 3 years, but it was time. As it is for many things in life.
We are in a state of constant change, in a constant cycle of death, renewal, and rebirth. Loss, grief, joy, peace. Still, we move through it all.
Keeping moving my love, physically, spiritually, mentally, through it all. ❤

Gorgeous! Absolutely gorgeous!! I’m with you 💯. My last 3 years have been the hardest of my life, in a caretaking situation which has become a cage I’m trying to get free of…and my almost 10 year old locs have been severely neglected…. I’ve been envisioning cutting mine off as part of ushering in a new season…. And the weight of them is becoming detrimental to my roots. So when I saw your super cute pixie, I was like, “I get you, sis!” 🤜🏾🤛🏾❤️ Looking forward to all your content, whatever you choose to share!

I have alopecia and keep covering the bald spots with headbands. But I get frustrated sometimes and want to cut my locs, not only because of alopecia but because there's also so much happening around me, and I can't handle any more stress. The only reason I'm still holding on is because I have no other way to rock my hair except if I decide to return to wigs. I believe you should do what makes you HAPPY, less stressed and at peace. You look absolutely beautiful ❤❤❤

You look so pretty with shorter hair! I also recently cut my locs off (after watching Bindi Marc's channel trying to avoid thinning too and not being able to look as neat as I wanted). I have been wearing my afro and it has been a journey with Jesus of accepting the beautiful features He gave me on purpose. Cutting my hair also boosted me into delving into more of my femininity, lose weight with spiritual and intermittent fasting and incline walking/ medicine ball weights, and work on my skin healing. 7-8 months later my husband and I are very happy with the diligent results! I pray you enjoy where you are and where you're going in this new chapter of life. As I love to share from Tatiana White / Tatianaclicks YT channel, "You can always put your natural hair journey on easy mode." Jesus loves you, you are not alone, and God bless you!

I started my loc journey just before the pandemic. 4 years later my hair was also thinning every time I would go get a hair wash and style it was getting worse every time. I even asked my technician to not style so tight but in the end it was time. You do you as we all do what’s best for self I know that my motto I’m doing me. Take care nice seeing you. For me, locs is a hairstyle. I'm sorry you have suffered the loss of something, or someone... nothing can replace that today, only tomorrow will bring back what we have loss. I can't imagine going through life challenges while enduring strangers' judgment. One good thing about today is all ya gotta do is block them... stop explaining.. and do you. I'm 51, and I would not go back to 20 or 30, even if it meant I'd regain the youth. This 50 year old brain is worth its weight in goal. I'm beautiful no matter what anyone thinks, and I didn't learn that until I was 40-something. Try not to dread aging. Embrace the blessing of wisdom and be happy you've not died young. If you look like this at 38, 48 is gonna be fine...trust the process.

Heyy Nina, I hope you are doing well. It sounds like you have gone through some depression and moving through that is different and difficult for each individual. Stay true to you, there truly is no reason to explain yourself. We do this as a coping mechanism when we seek approval from outside of ourselves. Silence the comments. In your intro make your statement of this is a place for only positive energy and the negative will be banned. I can say " don't let the negative seep in", because it's impossible. Do yourself and your followers a favor and be unapologetically YOU! We are here for your authentic stories. It's a channel, you can tune in or tune out. As for the thinning hair... I had this issue a few years back and I had gone to the doctors and was told we don't know; your thyroid and blood work is fine. It turns out it was a mixture of stress, depression and vitamin deficiency. Collagen powder supplements do great work and help from within. Powder form is more potentate than liquid form. Jornal for the confusing parts of life if talking to a therapist is too much. hope this helps you, wishing you the absolute best in life and all of your endeavor's! Congrats on this new chapter of life "Moving Forward"!!
