    Hey Lenn, did the Snow Master let you down last year? I got my butt kicked too with 2 Power Clear 2 smokers. Just picked up a 824 Snow Master.

    • @OldLenn
      @OldLenn  ปีที่แล้ว +2

      Yeah brother, My SM let me down big time for the very first time. I have to make a video about it just not sure when.
      Your Toros let you down as well I see. Well.. what's important is we survived 😅
      Hey, congratulations on your new Power Max. Thats a GOOD MOVE, good decision. The machine will definitely help you this winter. ☕️

      @@OldLenn I’m getting the impression it broke?

    • @OldLenn
      @OldLenn  ปีที่แล้ว

      @MrWuWatt Yes, it broke down but not because of the storm, it was a "user error"... my fault.
      It couldn't perform well during the last storm..... I got frustrated and push the PACE system so hard till the belt drive "burned" almost nothing left of it (the belt drive).
      I'll tell you more about in a video (just don't know when that'll be).
      Don't worry, the Snowmaster still is an awesome machine that can handle 99% of any snowstorm 👍🏼

      @@OldLenn Ok thank you, I'm planning on buying a second one. So I'll have 2 Power Clear 2 Stroke, and 2 824 Snow Masters.
      The type of snow we had last year was a nightmare, I've heard tons of stories and myself and a few others had broken plows. The frames let go and wide out blades bent.
      You recommend having a 2 stage blower eh?

    • @OldLenn
      @OldLenn  ปีที่แล้ว

      @MrWuWatt I dont know how many driveways/properties you'll tackle this year. But your 2stroke throwers (821) and 2 Snowmasters seem like good setups.
      ☕️ If it's me, though, I would hold buying the 2nd Snowmaster and buy a "decent" 2 stage first instead. When I say "decent" I meant the 2stage I'd buy has at least 8 horse power.
      So my setup would be 821 (power Clear), 824 (SnowMaster), and 824 (Power Max).
      Having this kind of setup, I won't have any worries clearing 26 residential snow accounts, which is what I have currently right now as I speak.
      BTW.. never get rid of your Toro PowerClear (821). That'll be your go-to thrower when the Snowmaster fails to move that sticky, heavy wet snow... even if you already have a 2stage machine. Little throwers like the 821 like yours are little beasts and very versatile (if you could upgrade to 4 stroke that'll be fantastic!)
      ☕️

    Tires are better than tracks in most situations. Good choice, my neighbors have one and it works fine in the difficult mountain snow.

    • @OldLenn
      @OldLenn  ปีที่แล้ว

      I agree, Robb.
      Having the ability to turn my machine fast and efficiently during snow removal is a must for me. I know the wheels will do a better job of it than the tracks.

    Congratulations on the new snowblower. It looks awesome. 420 cc and a commercial grade build should serve you well. If you're able to add a single stage Toro Power Clear or your 824 Snowmaster and you'll have the best of all worlds. Looking forward to see you using it this winter.

    Congrats man. We got dumped on 17 inches today here in alaska of wet heavy snow. Yuck! Glad i had my ariens rapid trak 28 SHO. It really Impressed me today. The Full capabilities of these machines are rarely Needed, but when you need them you will be SO glad you have the 14/32 Toro. For the small stuff you still have your snow master im going to assume.

      @OldLenn  ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Thabn you... Yes, I still have my SM, but it is in need of repair.
      Ariens, with its Super High Output, is a very solid machine. I've never been to Alaska but I believe the Ariens can handle the winter there. ☕️

      What’s the rattle noise on some models when the auger is engaged with out a lot load sounds like a bad impeller blade ,shaft , or bearing Even brand new

    • @OldLenn
      @OldLenn  10 หลายเดือนก่อน +1

      @richardaquino1640 @3:50 Good find and good question...
      The rattles you hear are from "other parts" of the machine. I can't pinpoint where or what. But I can assure you that the bearing/shaft is fine.
      The noise goes away when you put the whole housing on the ground and engage the auger again. Hope that makes sense.
      On another note, I found issue with this machine after using it for the very first time (for 5+ hours). When engaging the auger level and releasing it. It makes a grinding noise. Again, I doubt its the bushing or bearing. I suspect it's the auger belt being very tight when they assembled this blower. ☕️

    • @richardaquino1640
      @richardaquino1640 10 หลายเดือนก่อน +1

      @@OldLenn thank you for replying to my question earlier, I took a video of the rattle and a toro mechanic went to a model on the floor shook the augers and he said this is the rattling noise your hearing he said I was the fourth person this week to ask that question so thank you. As far as the the grinding noise when releasing the auger I am reading that if you remove the belt cover you may need to adjust the auger cable the exact specs are when the lever is disengaged ensure that the gap between the auger clutch arm and the frame of the machine is 1.5 mm or 1/16 inches I don’t know if that helps but that it what it says to do after a few hours of use. Thanks again..,

    Hi, if you're budget is $2000 but you have a long driveway (7 cars front to back) and you got neighbors who don't like you blowing snow on their property and your house is on the other side...so basically, you're have to blow that snow straight, about 5 to 6 car lengths...what snow blower would you recommend? Thanks for the videos.

    • @OldLenn
      @OldLenn  8 หลายเดือนก่อน

      Any snowblower that has at least 8 horsepower. A Toro powermax would be my number one choice because of its throwing capability, and having that "joystick" is a very nice extra (free) feature.
      I'm not sure how much they cost these days. If it costs more than 2Grand then I would wait and save. It'll be worth the wait and extra $. ☕️
