Not much space to live on. They must worry a lot about rising sea levels. I hope they can stay, get healthy food and water and live happily ever after. Greetings to Tokelau from Denmark. ❤
8,000 of them live in New Zealand and only 1,400 live in Tokelau. They are a dependency of NZ and get a lot of aid given to them. Only Palestine receives more aid per capita than Tokelau (but not from NZ, we don't finance Palestine as it's nowhere near us and nothing to do with us).
@@michaelfield3024 That is correct. But you had said that it was the most northern point of New Zealand. Not the realm. The northern most point of New Zealand would be Cape Reinga.
The northern most point of Aotearoa/NZ is Cape Reinga, which is part of Te Tai Tokerau. Tokelau on the other hand lies beside the equator. It is 500km (approx. distance=Welly to Te Tai Rāwhiti, NZ) north of Apia, Sāmoa; west of Manihiki, in the Cook Islands; and east of Funafuti, the hub of Tūvalu. The Moana/ Tai cloaks us.
I've always been so enchanted by Oceania and Polynesian culture. I really wish I could visit some of these places someday...
You won’t regret it if you do
Definitely worth a trip!
I'm obsessed with small, remote islands

It looks like a lot of the houses are being swallowed up by the ocean... :(
Not one single house is being swallowed up in Atafu😂 get your facts right
How people live there. Alone. No daily life necessities. Can someone answer me. Mean. Are there comfortable there
around 1400
I bet they are happier than we are. Too much technology and people in western society. These are living happily and peacefully with the earth.

@@hikatealamoana4423 North cape is further north than Cape Reinga, and not including Tokelau Nugent Island in the Kermadecs is the furthest north.
