After discovering their music at the beginning of last year, I now can not remember a day where I haven't listened to Autechre at least once, their music is incredible.
I've been listening to Autechre since the late 90's while in college. It was great to put on headphones and study; read or write to. Also excellent to paint to! Try it sometime. It's very freeing. Much love to all. Positivity. Spread it. Don't shred it
same. in 2001 a cool uncle gave my classmate two mp3 bootlegs (Ae and Aphex). I made a copy and used to binge first three records religeously alone in my room before sleep playing Metroid on GBA or zone out into my thoughts.
I'm playing this through my headphones while I work, and each time the Jeep ad that is currently running in the ad slot pops on, it takes me a second to realize it is an ad and to skip it. The ad begins with nice ambient vibes that mix well with this video, and then when Bruce Springsteen starts to ramble about "the middle" it fully sounds like the type of audioclip that might be spliced into such music.

as corny as it is to say i walk around on wet streets at night listening to IDM, it actually works. so too does wet streets on cloudy days, airport lounges in foreign countries, empty train stations at night, and on trains, day or night, preferably empty
@@akillen77 Thanks that really helped. Not very many helpful people anymore, seems like everyone is out to get me and probably other people to I just don't see it. But anyway I appreciate it, I hope YT doesn't find a way around it. Thanks again.
I've been listening to Autechre since 1993, but haven't kept up closely with their output since sometime around "Draft 7.30." Their increasingly dense, algorithmic work just didn't resonate with me, and I turned my attention elsewhere. However, their early work remains some of the most important music of my life, and I revisit it frequently. This mix (like all your others) is wonderful, and introduced me to some newer tracks I might never have bothered to track down otherwise. I've listened to it dozens of times since discovering it a few months ago, and it's given me a fresh and expanded perspective on one of my all-time favorite bodies of musical work, and a renewed enthusiasm for this inimitable pair of musicians.
I listen to this mix daily. Several times per day and night. Autechre is amazing but something hits right whenever they slow it down and create soundscapes… Overand sounds amazing! Thank you for providing deep meditative mixes
@@pistopit7142 I don't have much empathy (difficulty on understanding feelings). I don't know why are you relating ambient music to empathy, it's just a music genre.

on my grandmothers last night around 1am me and my mother were in her room at her care home for her final hours listening to this and the afx sleep mix u have on ur channel. today is my other grandmothers funeral and its become quite sentimental for me to listen to these uploads when someone dies. i think these ambient tracks are perfect send offs
Put simply, from the cockles of my heart, thank you. This mix is deftly effective at putting me in the calmest space before I rest. During the comforting chords of P.I.O.B. mix two my heart rate lowers and my anxiety fades, guiding me to the present moment effortlessly. As the mysterious transmissions and gentle percussion of Overand roll in I fall deeper and deeper into a enveloping slumber, and eventually, my consciousness fades. This happens every time without fail. Even though I am pretty much conked out after that, I like to think the rest of the mix is doing its work on my subconscious mind and pulling me deeper and deeper into an absolute tranquil dreamstate. Basically, every time I see that white Exai art, I know that sleep is imminent. This has become invaluable to me and my nightly routine.
How do you use this to sleep, what do you do exactly? I'm curious since I'd imagine some of the more "unsettling" soundscapes later into the mix would wake one up or have an impact on the dreams
i had this on when i went to bed at quarter volume and was woken up by 9013-2 at full volume a week ago. literally my phone went full volume the second it came on. i still have no idea how it happened. Woke up in my dark room scared shitless. thanks for the mix but i really didn't like how you added 9013-2 i think it's really creepy.

there are only a few artists who i feel have got their finger on the pulse of our (post)modern condition and all of them are filled with emptiness and melancholy. it's all ive really felt for almost a decade now. call it depression, but there must be more to it. when you really take an honest look at the current state of things, there is nothing to be optimistic or happy about, and the only way to find some consolation is through music like this. the more i try to understand reality and meaning the deeper this pit in my stomach becomes
ah, and it's still true. that's the nice thing about universal truths, they're timeless. in a way i've always felt like i'm living outside of time, like whatever is happening in the concrete moment does not matter, and i'm always seeing myself in context of the bigger whole. i'm just a microbe, feeding myself on some small bits of matter in my immediate surroundings, never able to really break outside of that tiny little niche i've taken up in the world. all my little projects and thoughts, on a universal scale they're little more than the writhing and struggling of a worm trying to move and survive within it's environment. just think of how little thought we give those creatures, how easy it is to accept for us that one moment they're here, then we squash them and suddenly they're not. for some reason we cannot extrapolate this observation to our own species, even though ultimately this is the only thing there is to say about human life that remains objectively true for the rest of time. all the different forms our writhing and struggling takes on, all the religions and political systems we conjure, are simply a more advanced form of wriggling insects. looking at it in that way, and seeing how utterly apathetic and chaotically meaningless the insect world appears, i don't think it's possible to be happy or hopeful for any prolonged period of time. neurochemicals might distract you from the truth for a bit, but sooner or later it's always back to this. how do you live in a truly honest way, that is, as if you're nothing, as if you're already dead? i suppose you can't, without actually being dead, so instead we are forced to move by some internal lie that keeps pushing us forward into the next moment of time
I'm really curious about the track Tony LaMesmer, I did a cursory check but I haven't seen it in any Autechre release. However I found the same song under a group named Gescom, they seem to have close ties to Autechre. I'm really into it, the repetition hooks me for some reason.
