I thought it was just me that buys lemons, but then you mentioned it. Yes the battery it comes with is junk. I live in the tropics, not very cold here and after the first week owning the 2022 Adventure, I was having issues starting the bike. So now I keep it on a battery tender when I don't ride it for long periods. But even so, it still doesn't stay started on the first try. KTM says this is normal and that it can take up to 6 times to start. It's my second KTM and I sometimes think maybe I should get a Yamaha or another Honda, cause they seem to be a much more reliable machine. Oh well, Live and Learn! The orange crash bars look good on yours. Mine came with black ones. Thanks for your input, it is greatly appreciated. Aloha from Maui 🤙
Thanks for your input. I drive Honda also and feeling wise Honda is giving you that trust for sure. With this price tag KTM is giving more than expected but again there is always a catch. Honestly I felt like after 2 years I will have some issues but again this is the feeling I can't put my gut feelings there right. :) I do not see around me much KTMs more than 6-7 years old.
Thanks so many KTM peeps say perfect small adv bike. I have a big bike Yammie 950 Bolt for around the city is great. I live in Medellin Colombia it is great on good highways but not many are good in that you won't hit potholes or small stretches of dirt patches. So my bike sucks for once My riding buddies and I head out of town. A few guys have this bike and love the tech package. I think I would too. But it just seems to come up short in the off-road category. So right now between this bike a Honda 300 Rally. I know only 29 hp vs 40 hp. but for the price of KTM can get a brand new Rally and add ECU, exhaust system, bigger airflow, and upgrade suspension and now have a 40+HP bike but not the tech pack. So sort of in a pickle on what to do. Generally, this sort of thing is easy for me. Any input from anyone would help and be welcomed too! Honda reliability is a plus too. Has anyone reading this had any KTM bike over 5 yrs?
Hello and thanks for yıu input. Same here we have potholes patches everywhere and I own also a BMW Rninet bike which is not so comfortable on these roads. By the way your bike is a cool one imho :). Set side that I also own CRF 250L. Here in Turkey because of taxation these bikes limited with 250cc and to me they are so boring. I use my CRG only for off road and I must say it is not so useful there either. The torque isn't enough and the clutch is problematic. I burned two clutch rings already especially if you ride it in the sand or mud you will probably burn it. The only positive with it that the parts are very cheap and easy to find. Almost every mechanic knows what to do with CRFs. Probably 390 is way more expensive in this aspect but I would go with KTM in anyways. The joy, the power difference would worth it.
