These two category of music gives amazing emotions : Hindustani gives a soul relaxation feel like when we are dreaming a happy dream, while Carnatic gives a feel like when we are in a lively conversation in a happy get-together function. Anyhow, Both forms give happiness and divinity comes with female voices. That calmness and flowness.
Karnatik portion sounded like a river flowing in a gorge with full force. Hindustani portion sounded more like a meandering river in the plains. Soulful music. 🙏

In Carnatic, the listener's attention is only directed towards the aingers technical abilities. The soul and emotion takes a back seat. Whereas in hindustani both go hand in hand.
You need to develop the listening skills of Carnatic. I would say rhythm is emphasis in Carnatic and melody is emphasis in Hinudstani -- both have their effect on soul.

Though Carnatic is little complex with talams and gamakas and sangatis. It always lives in my heart. Hindustani on another hand is quite easy and can be more creative. But in Carnatic there is specific rules which makes every ragas unique and the creative though difficult but becomes most beautiful and good to hear. I like the both.

Even though I couldn't understand, I just found the voice of lady in left incredible. She sings like a violin. All the movement are following violin, or I must say, opposite is happening.

Why to bring religion in everything
Both are beautiful.... There is no Hindu Muslim in notes... Finally for both Hindus and Muslims there are only 12 notes right?

Brother don't bring religion in music, if the music touches your soul then don't care wether it was Carnatic, Hindustani or any other classical.
why you people always try to prove that every thing north indian is just not pure and good ....... you should try to appriciate both and hindustani is highly devotional too ... and can you tell me what knowledge you have of music because being a student of carnatic music myself it hurts when people compare the two forms of music.... hinduatni does have some persian influence but it doesnt mean it is not pure and its not devotional and btw hinduatani originated in vedic period and carnatic originated in bhakti period ............. i have almost completed 15 years in carnatic and now i am learing hindusatni .... so think before you say anything
The raag jog is hindusthani but with the voice of Gayatri , it sounded pure carnatic , she was initially trained in carnatic and it remained .
What gayathri sung was simply hindustani and nothing carnatic was there. What if she is trained in carnatic? Just dont say anything for the sake of others knowing that you know something.

Why Carnatic music stand out from the rest of the kinds of music in the world?
Here gayathri did not sing the real Hindustani classical music, she just sang gazal and thumri mix (ie.the light music in Hindustani) at the same time sreeranjini sang heavy carnatic music, that is why you felt carnatic stand out in comparison with Hindustani.. If u want to really hear the actual Hindustani raga jog in pure classical just listen to this ..then u will understand the quality of Hindustani..

In this video Carnatic sounds more overpowering than Hindustani. Yet Hindustani has it's own charm. I personally prefer Hindustani Classical Music. What Gayatri sung is more like a bhajan. Kaushiki Chakrabortty, Mahesh Kale, Pt. Ajay Chakraborty, Bade Ghulam Sahab are some notable artists of authentic Hindustani classical music. And lastly it's my opinion and do not mean any North - South debate😂😂
