- Kalanchoe’s bright blooms are the perfect way to cheer up a gloomy winter. This succulent comes in a rainbow of flowers that thrive for months, including the cold season. When not flowering, it’s a handsome plant with broad and chunky deep green leaves. And knowing how to propagate kalanchoe will help you have as many as you want!
I picked up one of these for about $2 bucks, discounted discount, unwatered, uncared for and unloved. After a few weeks of sun, water and a morsel or two of plant food it exploded into a deep green bouquet of leaves and deeply red yet petite flowers. Totally unexpected. This video should help me spread some Kalancoche
Wish you luck!
Wow. It took you several months to make this video just to show us the growth and the progress. Thank you so much!
Thanks for your helpful leaf propagation. Your Kalanchoes are absolutely stunning.
I love your detailed instructions and lively video
Thank you 😊
I didn't realize it was that simple!

This is great! Wonderful colour varieties and easy to do. Some of them look like little Roses.👍😊
Simple enough for me and easy. Thanks for sharing.
Thank you for watching!
Good instruction! I’ve found they are super easy to propagate in soil too. I’m using LED plant lights, due to shaded house.
this video 4 years ago, but ur hardwork so amazing
Thank you 😊 Yes, but my propagation method didn't change. This is the best
@@HomeGardening wow directly got replay, btw i just buy kalanchoe/calandive 4day ago and now my pant is home, i put on new pot and hope its wil fower. my kalanchoe/caandiva place i put it in a pace that not get direct sun,
@ARivanw If you want your plant to get flowers, better to put it in the sunniest place in your home
@@HomeGardening my place dont get sun directy,🥺🥺 but i think enough light,
I love those plants

Thanks for your growing knowledge and video on Kalanchoe : ) I had the wrong soil mix and rotted out the main stem… now I have lots of Kalanchoes in smaller pots in a better soil mix… my grow tent has induced blooming for xmas… : ) 🐸
is cactus mix good? my leafs are still green but after a few weeks no sign of roots. Also used rooting powder on the stem...idk what i'm doing wrong
@Powerpuffgirls312 cactus mix is not proper for this type of plants
I have 2,a gold and white, but I love the pink.thanks for the video.
Wow I just finished propagating my two.For some reason the main stems started rotten at the top. While that was happening my girls pushing out new growth and aeriol roots. So I just cut off the rotting stem.Cut the other branches with roots put in water. I love the kalanchoes I also just purchased the millotii again. I've been looking for this plant for sometime.
Nice simple tutorial. I gave my daughter a plant.. Now I'm going to take some leaves to propagate! 🇦🇺🐨🇦🇺
That's nice. Good luck!
Nothing like a present that we can share! :)
Beautiful outcome
nice information... thx from India ❤️🌹
Great information. Thank you so much for sharing your knowledge.
Thanks for watching
Very good lesson! Very informative
Thank you 😊
I have 2 inch kalanchoe with leaves only at top. There are roots. How do I grow leaves on the bare spots? Nice video.
Thanks for the tips God bless you
Amazing!! Thank you for sharing this lesson.
The only step I need help with is the transplanting portion from the babies (7:40) to your next scene (8:20).
Did those babies have to be really CUT away from the mother leaf in the transplant process??
Thank you for watching!
For the first time, you can leave babies as they are, don't need to cut them off from the leaf
@@HomeGardening ??
So... I can transplant by lifting the baby and the mother leaf together??
Does the mother leaf stay and maybe wither away??
Thanks again.
Yes, you can. The mother leaf will become yellow and die in future
Perfect 👌👌
Very well explained 👌
Thank you
GUD. Спасибо вам большое за подсказки. Узбекистана
Thanks for the info God bless you
Thanks for showing
I cut off like 4 huge leaves from my plant to make the pot less crowded and kicking myself now for not saving to propagate! Next time I will know!
Be careful
Good infos..tqvm for sharing
Thank you
Merci beaucoup 🌿🌸💗
Wow! I wish my leafs gave some new growth too! It has been for a while now. Around 4 months. I took small leafs, maybe thats why
Thank you so much for the clear guidance. My concern is to make my kalanchoe continue blooming. I am in South East Asia and the climate here is different from the guidance given in most videos.
Thank you for watching!
use rice water.
Looking at your new plants but the leaf you used was big and I don’t see it?
Thank you sis😘
Useful information. Thank you. My cuttings keep drying or dying. I'll try again and see.
When you let it grow, does it give you big leaves like the ones you took as cuttings?
Yes, of course
Heyy thank you for the video 💜💜 I have 2 questions. My kalanchoe leaves turn yellow.. What should i do? And i want to ask the one from 9:20 how to cut and plant the one at the bottom and you said we can propagate the one on top, how if I may ask?
Another question if I can ask.. to make kalanchoe bloom do I really have to put it in darkroom? Can’t I just let my kalanchoe be?
Thank you!
Hi I bought kalancheo plant in Summer it was a small plant & I change the pot to bigger one was very happy and it grows a lot but saddily the flower start dry , now it's January and I place it in a closed window with a lot of light , I water it once in 3 weeks,I wish to know what m I doing wrong? Pls can you help me?
Hello! Kalanchoe doesn't like bigger pots
I believe these plants are also known by the common name of Katy Plants. Is this correct?
I have a leaf which rooted while laying atop the soul. Then i planted the leaf. It has been planted for a couple of months and it appears to be healthy. But it has not made any "babies". Is it possible that the leaf is just not going to propagate even though it does seem healthy?
It is not possible. You have to be patient and wait for babies
Great!
We only have a red with single flower. Would be nice to have a double flower
How can you get double flowers?
There are such variety of double flowers
Dry the leaves for 4hrs or two days before planting?
Could be, but not necessary
I bought 2 plants that were blooming. After the bloom died off, my leaves fell off except for the tops and the stem grew long like hanging down and curves back up. It will follow the sun if I move it. My leaves are not at all that large. Mine are about the size of a dime or smaller. What is wrong with my plants?
You described mine to a tee! Long and lanky, sparse leaves. I just moved it to a spot to get more light. I'm hoping that was the problem. I don't want to propagate because the leaves are so small. 😔
the soil mix to propagate the stems will also be same? when is it the proper time to propagate?
During spring and summer
Hi what kind of soil do I purchase
Poner video en español soy Colombia Buenaventura me gustan las matas no se entiende. Parse ablamos a lo mudo g❤❤❤❤❤❤❤
How did the roots look like?
Good 👍
After they bloom do you cut the dead flowers?
Yes
thank you.
In two months, the anthurium and the other plant on the right didn't change a bit!!!! That's why I have trust issues with most videos on youtube!
I have a question. My kalanchoe flower buds dried, all the buds but the flower is just doing well. Why do you think that happens😭💜
@@user-xf7sb7od5d Ah, i see. My country has no 4 seasons. I put it at my windows from 9 am - 6 pm. And I watered it once a week. Is there anything else I need to do in order to make it bloom again? 😭💜
@@user-xf7sb7od5d Thank you so much 💜💜💜💜 Really appreciate your help and time to assist me ❤❤❤❤
Did u just keep adding plain water for all those months? Or did u fertilize at some point?
I fertilise just 2 times. All the time I just water them with plain water
My kalanchoes slowly dry up after blooming why is that?
How soon can one expect to see blooms after transferring to pot?
Depends on your conditions. Approximately in one year
So, you planted 4 different shapes of Kalanchoe leaves, but when they grew, all of them have same shape of leaves. How in the world did it happen? If I plant oak, birch and pine trees, then I would have again oak, birch and apple sprouts and even from distance they would look different
Yeah, almost all of them have barely similar leaves. There are thousands of different sorts and leaf shapes, but mine are very similar😊
How do I do if the plant does not give flowers
First of all, it could be too young to produce flowers. Secondly, give it some fertiliser. Thirdly, put it in the sunniest place
Do your kalanchoi pots have holes at the bottom for drainage or can they grow in ordinary containers with moist soil?
I have big leave but not as big as hers.
It will work also
I love thank you for sharing
So in 2 months, your other plants next to them didn't grow or change at all? Same EXACT lighting, shadows, camera placement and even dirt on the ground is in the same place.
🤔 Hmm... weird. 😂
