Brother Esoteric, your stock has just risen 10 fold. This is such an excellent interview anything I say won’t do it justice. Astro theology is certainly the origins of religion across the entire world from ancient civilisation till now and you have captured it in such an entertaining and scholarly way with Ralph Ellis who I have followed for years. I actually think this is the best interview I have seen of Ralph Ellis and it’s on your channel. GREAT JOB!!

Research also makes common sense that astrotheology is a very real in history. These Egyptian Ralph speak of though are not original indigenous to Egypt but are Hyksos who merged over time with Egyptian culture.

I’ve just embarked on reading my first RALPH ELLIS book … I chose Solomon falcon of Sheba.
Something unique has happened ,whilst reading the first chapter, because I’ve been listening to Mr. Ellis on podcasts regularly, as I read I can hear the authors voice in my head! I kid you not!
I chose this book to start with because of a interest in the character of Solomon .
    Thank you Ralph!

Ralph Ellis has a sense of humour "you don't see animals waiting to be slaughtered" :-) This is now one of my favorite videos ever, the info is "esoteric" and extremely hard to dispute. Mr Sweet Voice well done on another scholarly and professional video. This is a topic some religions run from thus their followers run from but it all makes so much sense when you understand history and the bible from an astrological view point. Your 40 video talks about the AMB principle, is that applicable here? it's the same thing, yeah?

    • @EsotericThoughtsTruths

Actually, the Jews can only offer animal sacrifices when they have their Temple. Their 2nd Temple was destroyed in 70 AD by the Romans. The Jews have everything ready to go to rebuild their Temple, including several red heifers without blemish ready to be sacrificed. The only problem is there is an Islamic Mosque right where they need to build their Temple.

The British duo with your posh accents have made a mundane controversial subject an absolutely MUST WATCH video. I learned so much, will watch again. Would love to know the % split in the bible between Astro theology, and non Astro theology. I think more than we actually think is based on the cosmos and once we get our heads around that we truly understand as it opens up a different historic view on the text. Loved it ❤️

@@cutiepie6640 "Weird" comes from the word 'wyrd', it means "Fate", "One's Destiny", I think it was meant to be Wyrd. What's confusing is, he was asked about the numbers 3,7,12 and 40, but failed to show any knowledge of them. The 3 can be found in many things, 3 months in a season, or with the Moon's relation with the year, it cycles 12 full moons, 12 full moons, 13 full moons, and then repeats, a 37 full moon cycle, the 12th prim number "37", but after 49 full moons we add a day we call Leap Day, later I'll show a 3 hour shaft every 9 months (= 40 weeks-7 days 7 hrs.), but he spoke of 19 year, which is a full Moon on October 31st, we call Halloween, the 304th day of the year, 3+0+4=7, leaving 61 days, another 7, in Hebrew seven is Shiva. That 19 cycle hits February, the month we add Leap Day, every 19 years a Dark Month, No Full Moon. In the Tarot 19 is the Sun Card, our sun is tilted 7 degrees, at it's belly it spins every 25(=7) days, but we get the 28 days spin from the 7 degree tilt, at it's pole you find a 40 day spin, they say because of Mercury going around every 88 days, 8+8=16 and 1+6=7, this causing a 3 week retrograde (3x7), each time 120 degrees from the last, after 3 they form a triangle, after 22 retrogrades, 7 years, Mercury makes 7 triangles, 22\7=3.14 called Pi, During those 7 years Mercury will have 49 days, only if you count Mercury's double sunrise as an extra day, because of the Sun's 7 degree tilt, the Sun's swing gives both Mercury and the Sun a 79(=7) year cycle, that cycles with Climate Change, known as the 88(=7) year Solar Sunspot cycle. These numbers can be found with the cycle of Venus, hides behind the sun for 49 days, retrogrades for 40-43 days every 77 weeks, and every 77 months conjuncts with Mars 3 times in 9 months, with Mars you find every 707 days back at the same star, and every 79 years, it too shares the 79 year cycle with Mercury and the Sun. It takes the sun 2,160 years to move though a sign, we add 77 weeks of Leap Days, 2160\4=540 and 540\7=77.
Here's that bonus, you need an Astronomy program to see this, I use the free Stellarium program. Set the location, date and time, pausing it, take note of the sky and stars, selecting one will help, use the date tool to go back 9 months, now go back 7 hours, if you selected a star, it should be back to the same spot, if not it will be at the 6 hour or 5 hour spot, it swings between those 3 hours.
Something to try if you want, but Shiva destroys the universe every 2,160,000,000 years, so as the create a new one.
Play "Seven" backwards it says "Novus" Latin meaning 'New', play the words "Novus Universe" backwards it says "77".

Ralph what do you think about Jesus's ministry being based on the zodiac cycle? John the Baptist with Aquarius, Simon and Andrew with Pisces, the lamb of God with Aries, walking on water with the milky way passing through Taurus, the two possessed men with Gemini, the Sermon on the Mount with Leo, the entry into Jerusalem with Virgo, the moneylenders put out of the temple with Libra, the kiss of Judas with Scorpio, the introduction to Pilate with Sagittarius, and the burial in the cave tomb, and birth in a cave tomb with Capricorn?

Interesting that 70 are recorded in the TNK as going to Egypt but the christian testament records 72. Also to note are the 70 Rabbis who translated Torah in Egypt in 200 something BCE I think it was. The Septuagent as we know it today as including the Prophets and Writings was done in 300 something CE by the Church. The original Torah translation either perished with the synagogue that burned down in Alexandria in 200 something BCE or it was stolen. Tradition says it burned. Julius Caesar entered the Port apparently uninvited. Both Navy's hurled burning fodder at the other. The Port caught on fire. The Great Library burned down also. It had thousands of Pre-Ancient papyri that perished.

I am going to make another theory for this other than mister Ellis's. The very first monotheistic religion was zorastrians. So why could it not be possible for the persians whom moved around to many countries be the originators of all of this? Especially since they gave the vedas to india. I follow an anthropologist whom makes this arguement that the persians whom were light haired, blue eyed, caucasians who spread the knowledge of much across the world as they were the viking, celtics, jews, hyksos, all rolled into one.

12 tribes = 12 zodiac signs? what about 12 being the basis of Sumer, with the 12 hours of the day, 12 hours of the night, 12 months of the year, and from that the 360 degree circle? the 60 minute hour? the 60 second minute?

    • @RalphEllis
      @RalphEllis 2 ปีที่แล้ว

Indeed, they all stem from the 360-day year, which gives the 360º circle,
      and then the 12 x 30-day months,

The English word for "God" comes from the Hebrew word Elohim which means gods. The "gods" that the ancient people worshipped in the beginning were the stars. So the Bible's Genesis 1:1 should have been written as "In the beginning the stars created the heaven and the earth".

I can’t even begin to outline all the reasons why Ralph Ellis is wrong and just trying to sell copy.
So I will summarize by starting from the beginning. Even if you don’t accept that Sumerian literacy preceded Egyptian literacy by hundreds of years let’s go back to the basics. I will use no obscure text.
Now I don’t want to negate the importance of the astrotheology, I will put it in at certain places to make my point.
“Eridu was long considered the earliest city in southern Mesopotamia.”
“Eridu appears to be one of the earliest settlement in the region, founded c. 5400 BC, close to the Persian Gulf near the mouth of the Euphrates River.”
Let me restate, that was 7400 years ago. Arguably Eridu was the first city in the world, and its connections with prehistory are largely eastern mesopotamia and the Persian gulf.
    Quoting from Wikipedia Eridu
Samarra - Grain agriculture, barley, wheat “The oldest agrarian settlement seems to have been based upon intensive subsistence irrigation agriculture derived from the Samarra culture to the north, characterised by the building of canals, and mud-brick buildings.
Dilmun-like “The fisher-hunter cultures of the Arabian littoral were responsible for the extensive middens along the Arabian shoreline, and may have been the original Sumerians. They seem to have dwelt in reed huts. “ Dilmun were mentioned in the Epic of Gilgamesh, and seem likely to be the original source of a garden of eden myth.
Wandering Semites. ”The third culture that contributed to the building of Eridu were the Semitic-speaking nomadic herders of herds of sheep and goats living in tents in semi-desert areas.”
Each of these are important for the development of Judaism in different ways. From the Sumerians we get writing, from the Samarra we get beer manufactoring a basis for Temple economy, from the Dilmun we get long distant trade, from the Semites we get Post Sargonic civilization.
“The finding of extensive deposits of fishbones associated with the earliest levels also shows a continuity of the Abzu cult associated later with Enki and Ea.” Ea in the west during the time of Egyptian literal domination was known as Yah or Yahu.
    Quoting from Wikipedia Enki.
The mystic oracles of Enki maybe ancient and might indicate some interaction with Thebes. From this myth Enki Ea brings forth 7 oracles, starting in the prehistoric and continuing to the Babylonian, from the Red Sea. The mythical oracles, men with a fish skin imitate images of Enki as the lord of the Earth subterranean world of the pure waters, a position he stole from his grandfather. Ki (likely a loan word from Fertile Crescent languages similar to Gaia and Rhea) was, in Ninhursag, the Mother Earth goddess, She and Enki may have been the most ancient versions on extant modern gods.
“As Ea, Enki had a wide influence outside of Sumer, being equated with El (at Ugarit) and possibly Yah (at Ebla) in the Canaanite 'ilhm pantheon. “ Meaning at times Ea was associated with the leadership of Elohim. “Much of the written material found in these digs was later translated by Giovanni Pettinato. Among other conclusions, he found a tendency among the inhabitants of Ebla, after the reign of Sargon of Akkad, to replace the name of El, king of the gods of the Canaanite pantheon (found in names such as Mikael and Ishmael), with Ia (Mikaia, Ishmaia).
Jean Bottéro (1952) and others suggested that Ia in this case is a West Semitic (Canaanite) way of pronouncing the Akkadian name Ea, associated to the Canaanite theonym Yahu”
Rising to the north of Eridu was Uruk, biblical Erech. To understand the paragraph above we first need to understand Uruk and the structure of predynastic Sumeria.

      Uruk and sumerian Civilization.
“The city was formed when two smaller Ubaid settlements merged. The temple complexes at their cores became the Eanna District and the Anu District dedicated to Inanna and Anu, respectively. The Anu District was originally called 'Kullaba' (Kulab or Unug-Kulaba) prior to merging with the Eanna District.” 4000 to 3500 BC, 6000 to 5500 years ago. Uruk quickly surpassed Eridu in dominance.
This may upset Ralph Ellis to know, but the original white pyramid to Anu, the sky god, and at the time the god of the four winds, was built 4000 BC and the white temple on Top was built 3500 BC.
The oldest Egyptian pyramid were “The otherwise earliest among these is the Pyramid of Djoser built c. 2630-2610 BCE during the Third Dynasty. “
“Anu is identified with the part of the sky located between +17° and -17° declination which contains 23 constellations.” Wikipedia Anu. In the East Anu owns the Bull of the Heavens “The Bull of Heaven was identified with the constellation Taurus.” And so that we have some important astrotheology. The sky god associates with at least three groups, the Semites, through El, the Elamites, through Anu, and Zeus-Pater via its own pantheon in indoeuropean. Many believe there is a prehistoric connection. That connection appears to be through cattle husbandry. To understand this we need to understand mitochondrial DNA and what was once a trivial subgroup T3. The original European cattle are derived from a T/T3 mtDNA lineage near Catal hoyuk in Anatolia before 8500 years ago.
I want to stop here and make a recognition that the Earliest gods of Eridu, Ninhursag, the Mother Earth goddess also known as Ki, and Absu associate with the coming of rains and spring and sprouting of new growth. And while Catal Hoyuk also has Mother Earth gods it has these things. “Professor Lynn Meskell explained that while the original excavations had found only 200 figures, the new excavations had uncovered 2,000 figurines of which most were animals, with less than 5% of the figurines women.”
      i.pinimg.com/736x/a3/7e/b0/a37eb0fb30a1f5f0c3e7fb7c1d0758e6.jpg
In which collection of bull horns stacked two and three high in an arrangement almost identical to the placement of cattle horns on the heads of the highest sumerian gods.
So at this point if we were to assign an External origin for a deity, the NW looks far more favorable than Egypt, moreover we have astrotheology that appears to predate any comparable African astrotheology.
We can learn much about the Presargonic Ancient Near East by looking at the prehistoric remains of Mari. “Mari is not considered a small settlement that later grew, but rather a new city that was purposely founded during the Mesopotamian Early Dynastic period I c. 2900 BC, to control the waterways of the Euphrates trade routes that connect the Levant with the Sumerian south.” This means slightly before the antediluvian period. “t flourished as a trade center and hegemonic state between 2900 BC and 1759 BC.” During the Early Dynastic period Sumeria was dominated by its central and southern cities Eridu, Uruk, Bad-Tibera, Nippur, and Shurrupak (the original object of the flood myth). “Mari was first abandoned in the middle of the 26th century BC but was rebuilt and became the capital of a hegemonic East Semitic state before 2500 BC. This second Mari engaged in a long war with its rival Ebla and is known for its strong affinity with Sumerian culture.”
What we can take from this understanding is that Sumerian culture is punching its way westward, from 2900 BC (around 5000 years ago).
Ebla. “Starting as a small settlement in the Early Bronze Age (c. 3500 bc), Ebla developed into a trading empire and later into an expansionist power that imposed its hegemony over much of northern and eastern Syria.” “Starting as a small settlement in the Early Bronze Age (c. 3500 bc), Ebla developed into a trading empire and later into an expansionist power that imposed its hegemony over much of northern and eastern Syria.” The Amorites are the Mar.tu (Mari) the pests of the ancient Sumerians. “Toward the end of this period [2500 BC], a hundred years' war with Mari started. Mari gained the upper hand through the actions of its king Saʿumu, who conquered many of Ebla's cities.” With this came the influx of Sumerian beliefs that had not already made their way westward through trade. “ Toward the end of this period, a hundred years' war with Mari started. Mari gained the upper hand through the actions of its king Saʿumu, who conquered many of Ebla's cities.”
From this point forward the region was literate until the late Bronze Age. Prior to the Mari invasion the pantheon was composed of local gods, largely high officials and their ancestors.
So these are not hand waving details these are the gods found in the region, “goddess Ishara, who was the goddess of the royal family.” Ishtar (Inanna) Utu (Shamash, Hebrew word for sun) Ashtapi; Dagan; (Ba’al) Hadat (Adad) and his consort Halabatu ("she of Halab"); and Shipish, the goddess of the sun. So that we can see right here a male Sun god from the East is vying for power from a local female sun god. The major god of the phonecians originates at this time from the East. And Ishtar an syncretized god between west and East. It is important to note that during the reforms of Yosiah all connections of Shamash as a deity were removed, even the name was changed to pseudonyms for the sun. More about this below.
      Then Sargon the great arrives.

Ugaritic, although dating from 6000BC it enters the historic period as a glimpse from Ebla, but from Ugarit we get our first glimpse of canaanite religion, the precursor of the Hebrew religion. “According to the pantheon, known in Ugarit as 'ilhm (Elohim) or the children of El, supposedly obtained by Philo of Byblos from Sanchuniathon of Berythus (Beirut) the creator was known as Elion,”. Without any further guessing we see the origin of the original Jewish god. “El, also called 'Il or Elyon ("Most High"), god of creation, husband of Athirat.””Whereas the Israelites originated as Bronze Age Canaanites, the origin of Yahweh is indeterminate (see Yahweh §Bronze Age origins).” Isra’el. “ Some of the idiosyncratic aspects of Yahweh are described by Smith as "differentiation" in the period from the 9th century BC through to the Exile. Differentiation identified and rejected certain Canaanite features i.e. Baal, child sacrifice, the asherah, worship of the sun and moon, and the cults of the "high places". (W. Lee Humphries, review of The Early History of God, Journal of the American Academy of Religion, Vol. 61, No. 1 (Spring, 1993), pp. 157-160.) “ Wikipedia. Here are the Elohim. Aglibol, Anat, mate of Ba'al Hadad, Arsay (underworld), Arsu, Ashtar-Chemosh, Asherah, Ashima (fate), Astarte, Atargatis, Attar, Azizos, Baalah (wife or female counterpart of Baal), Ba'alat Gebal, Ba'al Hermon, (Mt Hermon), Baal Hammon, (vegetation), Baalshamin (supreme sky god of Palmyra, Syria), Baal-zephon (likely origin of the word Baalzebub), Bel (or Bol, was the chief god of Palmyra, Syria), Chemosh, (war and destruction), Dagon (fertility, father of Hadat), Eshmun (healing), Gad (fortune), Horon, (underworld, Hebrew. Bethoron, Ishara (oath), Ishat (fire), Kotharat, (7 goddesses of women), Kothar-wa-Khasis, (smithing), Liluri, mountains and wife of Manuzi. Bulls were sacrificed to both of them. . . . .the list goes on.
The point is that there is no absense of canaanite gods such that they would need to import Egyptian gods. The surrounding cities of Mari, Ebla, Hatussa, etc were all to willing to donate their gods if you let them invade your city. In addition the Sumerians had their own celestial gods, and the Jews either rejected them or blended them into their nascent city state god.
      But let’s be thorough. El,
“Specific deities known as ʼEl or ʼIl include the supreme god of the ancient Canaanite religion and the supreme god of East Semitic speakers in Mesopotamia's Early Dynastic Period.” “In some Canaanite and Ugaritic sources, Ēl played a role as father of the gods or of creation.””The stem ʾl is found prominently in the earliest strata of east Semitic, northwest Semitic, and south Semitic groups. Personal names including the stem ʾl are found with similar patterns in both Amorite and Sabaic - which indicates that probably already in Proto-Semitic ʾl was both a generic term for "god" and the common name or title of a single particular god. “ A prehistoric near eastern sky god”
“Ēl is called Tôru ‘Ēl ("Bull Ēl" or "the bull god"), bātnyu binwāti ("Creator of creatures"), ’abū banī ’ili ("father of the gods"), ‘abū ‘adami ("father of man"), qāniyunu ‘ôlam ("creator eternal"). In Hebrew, the epithet ’ēl ‘ôlam "God Eternal" in Genesis 21.33, ḥātikuka ("your patriarch"), the grey-bearded ancient one, full of wisdom, malku ("King"), ’abū šamīma ("Father of years"), ’El gibbōr ("Ēl the warrior").” There can be no doubt that El/Anu was the high god of the Fertile Crescent and so for a very long period of time.
“The oldest plausible occurrence of his name is in the phrase "Shasu of Yhw" (Egyptian: 𓇌𓉔𓍯𓅱 yhwꜣw) in an Egyptian inscription from the time of Amenhotep III (1402-1363 BCE), the Shasu being nomads from Midian and Edom in northern Arabia. “ Noting that the Egyptians had a god YH, but they are distinguishing that god from the Midianite/ Moabite god. It is important that this god is recognized in the people Moses putatively had contact with, before the time of the exodus, indicating that Moses did not find the god on the mountain. “For instance, according to William G. Dever, the modern scholarly consensus is that the biblical person of Moses is largely mythical while also holding that "a Moses-like figure may have existed somewhere in the southern Transjordan in the mid-late 13th century B.C."[1200 to 1225 BCE] and that "archeology can do nothing" to prove or confirm either way. Note the Shasu reference is 150 years older than this.
“When the Most High ('elyôn) gave to the nations their inheritance, when he separated humanity, he fixed the boundaries of the peoples according to the number of divine beings. For Yahweh's portion is his people, Jacob his allotted heritage.”
And this clearly describes Yahweh’s recognized subordinate position under El as a canaanite god. There are many theories about were Yahweh comes from, none are well supported, but what we do know is that the recognized gods prayed to by Hebrews prior to king Josiah were overwhelmingly of near Eastern origin, many directly from the oldest cities in Sumeria.

Conclusion. For these scholarly studies we see the rise of both agrarian and pastoralism in the ancient near East. The ancient abstract imagery present us with both mother and father gods. As sumerian civilization becomes literate we see the Anunnuki in inscriptions and names of public officials. During the 4th millennium BCE we see evidence of long range trade that continues at the beginning of the 3rd Millenium extending to Mari, then to the Mediterranean and it is clear the Mesopotamian gods, first with their Sumerian names, then with their Semetic names expanded westward. Around the time of Sargon these expanded southward into the Levant. The name Anunnuki is replaced with Elohim, a name that is still used to describe the powers now conflated into a single god, but was once the name of a pantheon of gods. Another indirect evidence suggested Enki, possibly the oldest male Sumerian god, had cultic operations near the Red Sea. The western name for Enki is Yah or Yahu. Somewhat later a god named Yahw appears on the horizon in approximately that location. But without a doubt the god takes on qualities of a warrior storm god and volcanoes god. By the 7th century this mysterious desert god takes on many of the qualities of the Near Eastern Canaanite gods going from monolatrous to monotheism over a period of about 600 years. It is no secret, the Bible tells us that Yahweh is El qualities in the same-way Marduk assumes 50 names of other gods and 50 names of Enki in the Enuma Elish.

well the Ophiuchus was found either before Scorpio or after, if before, it could resemble Jesus in Gethsemone, where like in The Passion of the Christ it symbolizes Christ being tempted by the Devil to not go through with the passion, and Jesus stomping the head of the serpent, as Eve's children were said to do to the serpent, the devil in Genesis symbology, as Ophiuchus resembled serpents or snakes.
