I stumbled across this video while trying to do this for my cat. I loved watching your guinea pig munch on the seeds, SO cute! Thank you for the video, super helpful.❤
Just found your channel I love this little grass growing thingy! It's perfect. I now have eight guinea pigs I just rescued two more yesterday. They're still getting used to their new home. I grow wild Tallgrass in a certain section of my yard but I clip it in the spring mostly because once the bugs come out & the birds poop all over it. Can't wait to try this!
Im trying to do this for my cat. Im using the same trays, im curious if you have had problems with the seeds anchoring in? He goes to rip it out and gets the seed, root, and all😅 😊
How much grass see would u recommend since one cup didn't give as much? I lost my instructions and can't remember. Also i do remember it saying distilled water. Also of you cut back brown grass it grows more
@@metropolitanguineapigrescu580 have you made more? I want a good amount of grass. First time i did i had a great amount last 2 times came out horrible. I did accidentally use my water from tap and there's chlorine could that affect it
so thats the rub, you cant get a second harvest if your not using dirt? hum. well icant seem to get much more then a second re grow anyway before the fungus sets in, and the dirt is a mess.
@metropolitanguineapigrescu580 I didn't realize how suseptible it was. I haven't practices good "soul hygiene". I recall back when I grew weed ypu would "cook" the soil in the oven to kill off spors, microbes, etc. Idk. It just gets expensive this one batch stuff, I don't think it's something I will stay with.i enjoyed your gunia pigs ☺️
In general piggies shouldn't eat seeds of any kind. They can't properly digest them, their a choking hazards, and they can damage their teeth. Soaked may be safer, but I'd have to research it.
Finally! This the best, straightforward video on how to do this. Thank you! I am growing some for our piggies right now!

Your brown guy reminds me of my cat. He will shove his face on anything 😂 can't take your eyes off him for a second around something he might like.

We usually clipped the grass to give it to them. When they were able to eat directly from the trays they pulled it out the same way your cat is.
Great video. Love your piggies :-)
What about the possibility of mould growing in water?
Hi, I address that by changing the water daily as I said in the video.
How much grass see would u recommend since one cup didn't give as much? I lost my instructions and can't remember.

The video says I used about a cup and a half of grass seed for these trays.

I personaly dont reuse them
@@henryhernandez5392 why not? Isn’t it a waste of resources and money if you don’t reuse the tray?

Exactly. You can see if you can find sterile potting soil. That could help.
