    Thank you for the warnings, particularly about HC Argentea Princess. She's been hanging out on my wish list for a while, but girlfriend isn't cheap. If I ever decided to cough up the money to buy her and she reverted, I'd probably sound a lot like the thunder in your video. I think, like a lot of princesses, she might be better admired from afar. Ugh, with some the struggle Is real. Mitrata died before we could even get to know one another. Shepherdii hates me, variegated multiflora wants to unalive itself even in the best possible conditions. Sadly, I also killed my first spartiodes in record time. I did purchase a larger plant and so far, so good! Honorable mention goes to linearis, I love her and she also hates me.

    • @BasiePlants
      @BasiePlants  ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Mitrata is okay for me :) But she is sometimes slow... Shepherdii... I don't like how she looks to be honest, maybe I will give her a trim and root more cuttings in the same pot, but she is an okay grower. Variegated multiflora does well here but she started to branch out for me and then drop every leaf on that new branch for reasons known only to God knows who xD My spartioides lost the roots but we are on the road to recovery :D I am very glad about tha because I love it and it is not easy to find. I love this Hoya summer camp series. Right now I have a grow/die back relationship with Hoya serpens, my nemesis. I have had it 3 years and it might be smaller than when I started!The “beginner” Hoya I have struggled with are compacta, kerii and linearis. My bella always has spider mites!

    Well, I am watching this video again because I just bought Hoya medinillifolia and needed all the advice i can find, and I was surprised to hear all about sammannaniana, I did not remember about your bad experience with this "being" from when I saw this video last year. Since then, I can say I have a lot of good experiences with hoya sammannaniana, from flowering, to propagating a lot of cuttings and trellising, and easily recovering from root rot during the winter. What can I say, I am lucky? it cannot be that we have very different environment, since I live very close (in the neighbouring country Romania), high humidity and cold during winter, relatively dry heat during summer. Lucky me then :D Maybe I will bring you a propagation from my mother plant if we pass through Serbia during a family road-trip.

    You are just naturally funny 😁
    I did acquire the Peninsularis not too long ago. Can't say much about it as of now. It has started several grow points, but also killed off the first leaf it tried to push out. So that's that 🤷‍♀️
    I would like to add the miserable being that was sold to me as Campanulata. Jesus, a creature that had less will to live has yet to be found. The plant is slowly dying, then growing a bit and dying back again. Yellowing leaves in between and after over a year not taller than 15cm. I might have started out with a bigger cutting than the miserable thing I now have. It has till the end of autumn to get its sh*t together or it'll end up in the dumpster. Seriously ☹️

    • @BasiePlants
      @BasiePlants  ปีที่แล้ว

      I hope peninsularis grows much better for you! There are several clones out there, so I hope you have a faster growing one :D From what I read, the plant can be a bit irritating while it is establishing.
      ah yes. Campanulata... not easy at all! :D My plant grops leaves, grows huge vine, I get hopefull... I am trying it in pon now, in self-watering. I do believe issue is not giving it water on time. Thin-leaf hoyas aere a challenge like that.

    I'm soo glad my Undulata doesn't know about this special requirements ;) I hope that doesn't change! She's with me from 8 month, I get it with one leaf and roots. Now she has 8 BIG leaf - 2 next on the way (about 20 cm) and "stem" (mayby 40 cm), grow in mix from seller (I must say its great mix of perlite, coconut, some vulcanic, brick and dont know what else). She's under "market" LED stripes 6500k (10 h by day) + mayby 2 hours east sun morning. Humidity about 48-58 %. I am brave (or crazy :P ) and bought Hoya Imricata - it doesn't look to good now and i think i will kill her. She has one smal leaf and no roots and... she broke :P I made "bandage" on her but I dont know she will alive :p I think Imbricata its another "not begginer" hoya :) I am definitely a beginner in general ;)

      I do have a video on Hoya caudata in 30 days of hoya :) They are pretty easy in my opion, especially the larger flowered clones like caudata from Sumatra :) They don't like to dry out and will do well in medium humidity (50% or more) and medium light :)

    Is it true that reverted Argentea princess is actually nova ghost?

    • @BasiePlants
      @BasiePlants  ปีที่แล้ว

      Yes :) Some anecdotal experience says once it reverts to full silver, it can become variegated again, so we will see with my own plant. Though I don't believe Nova Ghosts that have been growing silver for a long time can become so easily variegated again. They may sport a variegated vine though, but I haven't heard of that happening.
